Eleven Major Earthquakes In 2026! Where Did They Strike & What Is Next?

James Kaufman, World News Report today. Ladies and gentlemen, it's been a busy year as far as earthquake activity. Here we see that we've had at least 10 large earthquakes. I think we're missing some here. But I see 10 large earthquakes, 7.3s, 7.1s, 7.5s. And I know we're missing the 7.7 that occurred on August 14th, 15th, right here, right? So this is going to have to be number 11. That's going to have to be a 7.7. So that just occurred. That area is still swarming. Now, this doesn't even get into 6.0s. We had a 7.1 in Malaysia, a 7.5 in Tonga, number 2 here. Number three, we had a 7.3 in Vanuatu, a 7.4 in Indonesia, real close to the 7.7, a 7.4 in Japan. We had a 7.8 in the Philippines, the big ones, right? Number six right here, 7.2 in Venezuela. So that's a bit of a strange duck over here. next to that we had a 7.5 in Venezuela I guess it's not that strange in Mexico we had that 7.3 just the other day we had a 7.4 in Colombia which looks like they placed it in Peru and then over here in Indonesia we've been swarming there for about 14 days the biggest quake being a 7.7 So it's been very active this year. What are we missing? Well, the Ring of Fire needs to complete itself, and we need some action up here in North America. I realize this one in Mexico was North America. We also probably need some action a little bit further south, down here in the Peruvian Chilean wedge in South America. So I would look for something in Alaska. the Aleutian Islands here, maybe in Canada, and for sure on the west coast of the U.S. Again, one of the busiest years in record, or of record, and it's only August 24th. Wow. 11 major earthquakes since then. No 8.0s. I did check, and we didn't have anything over the biggest quake seen here, which was two 7.5s and a 7.7 that we had to add on that just occurred over in Indonesia. That said, God bless, folks.
