So it obviously did freak all of us out.
I only had two and a half hours of sleep when they came,
you know, pounding on the doors.
Our top story tonight, Congresswoman Ilhan Omar says she doesn't
feel safe in her Washington house and now plans to move.
Her comments come just a week after the
federal agents raided her home,
reportedly as part of a criminal investigation into potential
immigration fraud. Fox 9's Mike Manzoni is following
the latest developments for us tonight.
And so Mike, Omar's response to whether she once married
her own brother is getting attention.
Yeah, that rumor started making the rounds a decade ago,
even before she became a congresswoman.
In her first sit down interview since the raid,
this is how she responded to that rumor.
He was not, you were not related to him at all.
Not that.
There's not some weird kernel of truth
that through some game of telephone.
Not to my knowledge.
That was the big gotcha, right?
In terms of what you're talking about promising,
like we're gonna nail her on the marriage.
That was the source of the immigration fraud.
That no longer seems to be the issue that they
are putatively investigating, right?
Investigators are now reportedly looking
into potential immigration fraud in Omar's paperwork.
The Wall Street Journal has reported that the goal now
is to denaturalize and eventually deport her.
Omar says more than two dozen federal
agents spent hours going through her house,
taking phones, notebooks, and even a camera.
And now she says she doesn't feel safe living there anymore.
Our address has been public and with the death threats that I deal
with, it's not it's no longer going to be feasible to be in that house
and have my kids like visiting off and on having people track them.
And within the last several hours,
Fox News reported that Ilhan Omar is not her real name.
The report says that her real name is actually Ilhan Nur Said Elmi.
One former Minnesota immigration judge told Fox News that using
an alias could raise questions about any immigration paperwork
that she filled out over the years.
Randy Kelsey.
