Video Summary
AI GeneratedMilwaukee is gripped by \"World Series fever\" as the Brewers prepare to face the Rays. The city is experiencing a surge in ticket prices, merchandise shortages, and widespread fan celebrations. Alongside the sporting excitement, the region is managing dense fog advisories and various local news updates, including government transitions in Kenosha and regional crime reports.
With stories that matter to you, this is Fox 6 News at 9.
Have you allowed yourself to just think what it means
to start a series like that?
No.
It's just another game.
When tomorrow starts, be ready to compete and go win.
It's a long layoff, and if we want to use it as an excuse,
then let people use it as an excuse, but I refuse to do that.
Our big story at 9, World Series E.
The teams are here, and so is media from around the world.
And rosters are still being finalized.
And then all that's left, we need someone to just yell, play ball.
It's going to be an anxious night of sleep ahead
for Brewers fans and players alike.
But while the Brewers are home sleeping in their own beds.
Our Abriel Preciado is outside the Pfister Hotel downtown.
The Rays home away from home for the next couple of days of Abriel.
That's right, you guys.
While things may look very calm right now,
I can just tell you guys that from talking to fans out here,
they are definitely feeling the excitement that it
is palpable throughout the city i mean let me
just tell you guys what we were uh seeing earlier today uh several
of the fans that we spoke with
uh pretty much uh you know they were saying
that they're just super excited to see their favorite
team take the biggest stage in baseball now we did see
a couple of them sporting their Brewer swag
others riding on the giant baseballs that are also placed
in different spots throughout the area
signing off their messages
and obviously just you know throwing out their biggest
support to the Brewers ahead
of Friday night's game take a listen I grew up
watching and listening to the Brewers with my dad
and my grandpa so I was two
years old in 1982
so the feeling is just it's just really emotional almost had a
teared up during the game in game four
when they met when they swept them so
just super excited for game one going with my wife tomorrow
and i'm super excited uh this is
like a dream come true i've waited my whole life basically
for this moment so i'm super excited i
can't wait and game one will be taking place tomorrow
at 7 p.m. at American Family Field so
all of us are wishing the Brewers the best of luck
and you guys I hope you know we do take that W
tomorrow reporting live Abril Preciado Fox 6 News we're
so excited I don't know how we're
going to sleep tonight. All right, Abril, thanks.
And today was media day at the ballpark. The
Brewers, the players, the coaches, and top brass all took questions.
Our Lily Zhao was there to get
the vibe of the clubhouse.
The Milwaukee Brewers are managed by Pat Murphy, who always knows how
to hold a crowd. He also knows just the right buttons
to push with his players. But through
the season, Murph in the dugout, in his office,
in team meetings, always has something to say.
and the guys really relished
their favorite memories of Murph this season
ahead of a World Series run.
I think the one where he was eating
a pancake on the field during an interview,
that's pretty good.
That's Murph right there.
He called me Konnichiwa, and I called him Konnichiwa.
Why did he say that?
Because I don't know if you remember Thiago Vieira, the Brazilian guy.
He came from Brazil, and I asked, hey, do you speak Japanese?
And I asked, hey, tell me a couple words from there.
And he said, ah, konnichiwa,
and that's when we started saying konnichiwa.
He said, it was like midway through the season or a little bit more,
he's like, if you're tired, go to sleep.
That's what stuck out the most.
If you're tired, take a nap.
That's probably been the one you've heard.
You have to love the humor from Pat Murphy and also that phrase,
when you're tired, go to sleep.
I heard that from a couple other players,
so that must be one of his favorite phrases.
But also, one that the players will relish,
they're not sleeping during this World Series run.
they are ready to play. Game one, Brewers-Rays, Friday night on Fox 6.
It's going to be one to
behold, and all eyes, of course, will be on Pat Murphy.
Reporting from American Family Field,
Lily Zhao, Fox 6 Sports. We need a wall of Murph inspiration.
If you're tired, go to sleep here
at Fox 6. You can watch all
the Brewers World Series games right here on Fox 6. Game one is
tomorrow, Friday. Our coverage starts at four.
Then a special Brewers edition of Fox 6 News at
five. First pitch is at seven. Stay with us after
the game for a special edition of Fox 6 News
they say good things come for those who wait
and tonight Kim, look at these deals. World Series
ticket prices are dropping. Uh yeah, they're still
not cheap. Is that two million dollars at the bottom?
I think we added. Okay, I think we added next year I
was like wow. Okay, I did see some tickets for
under two thousand dollars for standing room. Yeah
but they must have been like
snapped up. So it's still going to cost you.
Where's Pam Kramer? Kids don't need to go to
college. Did he snap those up? Yeah.
That baby doesn't need to eat. We'll see what happens
tomorrow with those prices.
Hey, if you aren't going to the game, but you want to experience
all the excitement, there are several watch parties
that are scheduled. Millions of watch
parties. Many, if not most, are bars and restaurants.
They're having specials. We have
a post on fox6now.com and Fox Local, the app,
with a list of some of the bigger events that
planned. The Deer District, one of those having
a Brewers watch party for Game One. It'll be right
after the Bucks home opener
which shifted the start time to 3 p.m. because of the series and
one lucky fan will be handed Game Two tickets at their watch party
and MPD says minors, your curfew
hours still in place. Okay, tickets for the watch party inside
AmFam Field for games three and four
sold out in minutes. Yeah, this is the away games right
when they're gonna have all the fans watch
on the big screens. Fans
who missed out they're upset after seeing some of those tickets end up
on the secondary market on markets
with huge markups we went online we found many watch party
tickets they were purchased for 15 bucks like
that's what the Brewers were selling them for
they're going for more than 100 each some
as high as 400 Milwaukee's Ticket King tells us
they bought some watch party tickets today.
They're trying to flip them for $125. The company's
president says that price is based on the market
because we're bonkers about the Brewers right now
and he wishes prices, especially for game tickets, were lower.
We don't like this either. It's very
difficult to acquire tickets for us to acquire tickets
when prices are this high because what
happens is the season ticket holders
and the people that have extra tickets to sell, they call
us up they see these crazy prices online
and they expect to get the same thing for their ticket
for the tickets that they own all right
so here is the World Series schedule we know game one is
tomorrow and then Saturday we're back at AmFam Field
for game three that's when the series will
move to Tampa for games three and four
and then if necessary that's where game five is as well
if there is a game six and then a Halloween game seven
that's back here in Milwaukee it's easy to
keep track of the start time
because they're all at 7 p.m it's easy to keep track of the channel
kim one two three four five six seven they're all
on Fox Six two o'clock oh seven o'clock is right
it's like where are you going with this i know oh yes seven
o'clock Fox Six we'll get it straight
by tomorrow okay it's not just tickets that are hard
to find Brewers gear flying off the shelf
the team store in the ballpark get this had
to close today due to the crazy demand Christina
Van Zels joins us live. Christina, what's left out there?
Okay, there are still some things left,
but you have to be careful with sizing and not everything,
of course, is there. The Brewers,
they do say the team store staff is restocking inventory
and merch and will only reopen to
ticketed fans when the ballpark gates open for game one tomorrow.
Now tonight, there was a rush
of shoppers getting their last minute gear.
This is at Rally House in Greenfield. They have three
locations. Look at that line.
That was long, and the tables and racks of Brewers gear, they were
picked over, but the store says it
is consistently getting new shipments tomorrow and throughout the
series. Now, the Rally House says the World Series gear
is a bestseller, including these t-shirts
and the hats. Those are also popular right now.
I also stopped by the Green and Gold store in
Greenfield. They are known for Packers gear,
but the people shopping there today were looking for
stuff and they did have several racks
of clothes people there were also cracking me up they were
sharing with each other stories other stories
and stores that had things and places shoppers
shouldn't go so that was fun to see as fans
were kind of talking to each other about sizes and
merch and again what places to avoid that were sold out
so even that shopping experience it is
bringing fans together Ben
and Kim back to you it looked like piranha went through the Rally House
Did you see, though?
I mean, that's crazy.
It's like Black Friday, Christina.
Those lines?
Yeah, that's a good comparison.
It was giving Black Friday vibes of 2000,
because we haven't seen Black Fridays.
Like, this is bigger than, this is like Christmas.
Yeah, thanks, Christina.
I appreciate it.
I like, too, where they're like, don't go to that store.
Medium, good luck.
Medium, right.
Those sold out two days ago.
Two days ago.
All right.
All right, look at this.
If you're flying into Milwaukee tonight,
you're probably like, oh, this is a great flight.
And then at the last second, it gets really scary because,
look it, this is a crazy shot.
This is 1,000 feet in the air from our Estabrook Tower camera,
and those lights down there is the city of Milwaukee.
The fog is thick out there tonight.
Tom, this is, what, been four days now of fog?
Yeah, yeah, dew points have gone up, but come on,
isn't science cool when you look at that picture?
It is.
Right? You can see we're above the clouds
from that camera there, above the fog.
Well, I'll tell you what, we have got,
yeah, very foggy conditions tonight,
but it's going to go away just in time
for the Brewers in Game 1 of World Series.
I'm going to have your tailgating forecast coming up after the break.
Samson, you're all smiles, buddy.
We are going to the World Series.
And Ted Perry was not the only person to tear up
after his viral interview with a young Brewers fan in L.A.
Turns out the Miz also got emotional.
The touching moment at today's media day
after a quick break here on Fox 6 News at 9.
Corruption
in
Madison.
You're watching Fox 6 News with Ben Handelman,
Tim Murphy, and Chief Meteorologist Tom Wachs.
That went viral instantly.
Samson Herman, a boy with cerebral palsy,
shared his pure joy with our Ted Perry
after the Brewers beat the Dodgers to advance to the World Series.
He said his two favorite players
were Jackson Chourio and Jacob Misiorowski.
Today, Ted asked about the Miz,
about that moment and the impact he's had on the team.
I don't know if you saw it or not.
After the win in Los Angeles the other night,
I interviewed a young fan with cerebral palsy,
literally cannot walk, and he was overcome with joy.
And I said, who are your favorite players?
And he said, Jackson Chourio, and the Miz.
And I'm just wondering, whether you've seen it or not, do you give
yourself time to think about the effect you have on these fans
and the joy you bring to a young 13-year-old kid
who can't play the game ever
but is so happy for you that you're going to the World Series?
Yeah, I mean, I did.
I saw the video.
no uh it's honestly incredible just having that effect
on people so no i mean i really don't have
words for it you know just it's okay i didn't
it's cool yeah i don't know how to answer that
one you know there's a it's an honor to be in that spot
in that situation to have that effect on
a fan and someone of you know just anyone
so it's it's cool it's really cool the miz getting a
little emotional and check this out samson's dad sent us
this video showing his reaction to ted's
question samson and his dad are going
to the world series thanks to two milwaukee area business
owners joshua meyer and santiago speranza they got
into town tonight from minnesota so welcome
to milwaukee have they stopped smiling since i don't think
so so fun to follow that story and
how cool is this this was the story up
on mlb.com today they interviewed ted and our photographer
jake salzbrun a different perspective here
on that viral moment in the story ted and jake they
both talked about all of the fans
who handed them napkins as the tears started to flow out in la you
know what's really uh surprising about that i think like you
and i know ted's a crier right so we'd
have the napkins ready
but the fact that people in dodger stadium fans are like let it out
we love him because he does have
that heart he does connect um let's talk about the weather
tomorrow folks who are going to be tailgating
is it are we going to have fog again no we're
going to be all good you guys
and again incredible incredible story there and that to me just to go
back to what we were just talking about here
that's what this is all about right that's what
this entire experience is all about and this it's
so special here in milwaukee wisconsin and uh just
just incredible there well let's talk about our weather
because well first things first
it's the fog right let's take a look at your weekend riding forecast
because the fog will
be gone by 10 o'clock in the morning on Friday.
You know, I call weekends like this a bonus
weekend because we know the later on we get in October,
you never really know what you're going
to get, right, when it comes to our weather.
And this is a bonus weekend for sure. 67 near the lake
on Friday, 70 Saturday, 72 on Sunday.
Gorgeous weather ahead. Let's take a look across the state
on Saturday. I mean, look at this.
Temperatures 60s and 70s, our average high, by the way,
upper 50s this time of year.
Sunday looking beautiful as well, a bit cooler up to the north
and off to the west, but 60s and 70s for highs on Sunday.
Gorgeous stretch of weather ahead
for the weekend. Well, let's talk about this dense fog advisory.
This was just issued
by the National Weather Service.
It does not include all of our counties as of right now,
but it does include Milwaukee, Waukesha,
Ozaukee, Washington, and Racine counties,
and it runs until 10 a.m.
I wouldn't be surprised
if we see more counties added here throughout the night,
as again that dense fog is spreading inland
as our inland communities are starting to cool.
Now, we call it dense fog
when the visibility is at a quarter of a mile or less.
So that's what we're seeing in many of our lakeshore
and even some inland communities tonight.
Well, you're going to have to take my word for this one.
I had to double check what camera this was.
This is downtown tonight, and you can't see a thing.
We are totally fogged in,
and this is hands down my favorite image of the night.
This is our Estabrook Park Tower camera about 1,000 feet up.
Let me step out of the way.
So we've talked about how fog is a stratus cloud, right?
It's a stratus cloud on the ground,
and it is only a few hundred feet above the ground,
and then it's completely clear
so at camera level here from that Estabrook Park Tower camera that we
have there on the tower you can see that it is totally clear
but yet here on the ground we are
totally fogged in 54 degrees dew point 54 it means
the air can't hold any more water so we get the
fog wind is light out of the northeast
and air pressure looking good so we're dropping through
the 50s tonight we're going to hold pretty steady all night
because once that temperature hits the
dew point well it can't drop below the dew point
so we're going to stay in the 50s all night here
with that fog around not much going on across most
of the country severe weather though continues
in the southwest let's get into sky vision plus here quickly
because i do want to show you that
we are going to be seeing this dense fog continuing
overnight until about 10 o'clock in the morning
once we get past there we got a beautiful day ahead
for us here the model picking up on that
fog but then no fog tomorrow night
because we're not going to have as high of dew points so good
news to report there we are in store for just
a wonderful wonderful Friday once we get rid of this
fog temperatures a little cooler near the lake
and just a little warmer inland tomorrow we'll go about
65 to 70 so tailgating i'm putting it all on here for you
and it looks phenomenal Friday and again
on Saturday i mean you talk about a gorgeous stretch
of weather on the way now things start
to change next week with temperatures in the 50s
and rain chances return especially on Tuesday
that's the latest from here back to you inside Tom thanks
the Brewers had a lot of great moments
on the field this year that wowed everyone
but what was your favorite i don't have time to think
about this there's a lot of them we're gonna look try
our best we're gonna look back at the whole
season of highlights that came to define this team it's next

tom walks it's game one you know for me like
this is the spot we want to be in and you know
we're lucky enough to be here
and have the opportunity with everything that might happen
or could happen Jacob Miszewski getting the nod
to starting game one of the world series for the
crew no surprise really fun fact that i think is just wild the Miz
and brewers reliever aaron ashby
They both went to the same junior college, Crowder College in Missouri,
and we're so happy to talk to you right now live.
Their former head coach, Travis Lallemund, who is in Milwaukee.
You're going to be at the World Series tomorrow.
This is exciting.
Do you have nerves for your former players?
I'm nervous as a fan.
I really am.
No, he's very prepared for it,
and I know he spent the time with their staff
and coaches and things like that.
But, you know, hanging on every pitch of last nine outs of, you know,
game four versus the Dodgers with Ash out there and whatever.
It's, you know, as a coach, I think that comes with the territory.
Did you ever think coaching at a junior college
that you would have players
that would make it to the majors?
And what was it?
Did you see something in those two young men
when they arrived on campus?
You know, definitely.
And both their own story, obviously.
but they had a lot of ability, you know, coming in.
You just needed to, you know, see them refine that ability, you know,
with the strength level and physicality and things like that.
You know, that's what junior college does.
You know, I said it on something the other day in an interview.
You know, junior college is –
the way we run it is almost like a 12-week spring training.
And, you know, you think about
those times where guys get better in that course of time.
And I know the older guys hate it, you know, because it's 33 games.
They don't want to play.
But, you know, for the younger guys,
it's, you know, time to get better.
And I think that's what junior college,
at least at Crowder College, that's what it does.
The Miz is tall and lanky now.
I would love to know what he looked like
when he showed up on your campus.
And also, he hit 100 miles per hour for the first time
when you were coaching him.
Do you remember that?
I do.
I don't remember the exact moment
I just remember the moment he hit it
in the World Series
I think the first fastball he threw in the JUCO World Series
that year was 101 or
102
the hitter almost looked defeated
right from the start
and looked over to the dugout and was like holy cow
but the funny story about that
is he came out moving a little bit slower
and I asked our pitching coordinator
who was in the bullpen with him before the game
I said it doesn't look like he's moving right
is he okay and first fastball comes out 101
or 102, whatever it was.
Never mind, he's all right.
He's fine. He's fine.
Well, Coach, I want to talk a little bit more about that
because I remember my freshman year in college,
I was just like a string of grass, you know, a blade of grass.
I was so thin, and I can imagine the Miz was like that too.
And just to see him grow, you know,
because you have people that count you out
because they see, you know, that you're a small person, you're thin.
And did he come in with that kind of mindset,
or did he already know that he had those talents?
I think he knew he had those talents, but I think,
you know, he also had a growth mindset,
understanding that, you know, he had to gain some weight.
He had to do some things.
He had to get stronger, you know, especially the core strength thing.
You know, just being that long and, you know,
just uncoordinated at some points, you know,
he had to get a lot stronger.
So, really, I think he got that as much as anything.
And, you know, there were times where I said the other day, you know,
he fought it a little bit probably early
and didn't like some of the things.
But, you know, I think ultimately that's what development is,
is sometimes development in the weight room
and things like that is uncomfortable.
Yeah, Aaron Ashby, too, probably.
I think he would have won the NLCS MVP if it wasn't
for the rest of the bullpen being so great, too.
He's been unstoppable.
But when we talk to him, he also has such a calm demeanor.
I mean, has he always been that way?
Where's the fire come from?
He's always been very stoic and, you know,
just in control of everything emotion-wise.
And I think that comes from, you know, just who he is.
I mean, he's fun off the field and stuff like that.
And he hits that line and becomes a different competitor,
almost like an alter ego, you know.
He's just a very stoic, poised guy, which he's always been very poised
and never let anything bother him through success or failure.
But, you know, now he's seeing that success.
And a lot of people around here that watched him,
or around home, I should say,
that watched him play, they're like, you know, it's so impressive to me.
And I remember him the way he was here.
And, like, you know, that's his personality, and that's who he is.
Coach, thanks for spending time with us.
We hope you enjoy every single moment of the game.
Thanks for developing these great players.
We're just so grateful to have you there.
Thanks, Coach.
Appreciate it.
Yeah, appreciate you guys having me on.
Thank you very much.
Go Brewers.
Go Brewers.
Go Brewers.
Let's get to Brandon Cruz.
Brandon, there is just something special apparently in the water
at Crowder College in Neosho, Missouri.
Yeah, you heard the coach talk about these guys in particular.
Aaron Ashby.
Now, I was talking to him today about the Miz
and what he meant to this team.
And, you know, we always realize that this team has
been put together by Matt Arnold.
However, because of the connection with them at Crowder,
maybe it's not Matt Arnold who brought the Miz here.
Take a listen.
Following up on a question earlier
with seeing Miz early in his college,
so can we credit you for bringing him to the Brewers?
No, I don't think so.
I don't know that I had a whole lot to do with that.
I'm sure he was already on their radar.
But, yeah, it was certainly one
of those things where we were in the weight room
and Matt Arnold was working out after one of the games.
And I was just like, hey, man, you know, Miz is out there.
He's a Crowder guy.
I'm sure he'll be great.
So I think he's turned out pretty good.
I think it did.
And I still think that you have to give Ashby a little credit at least
for the Miz being here and starting in game one, guys.
I would say so.
and I've got an assignment, Brandon.
I need to find out where Ashby got those glasses.
I know that they're, you know, for protective gear in the game,
but I could rock those.
They're stylish.
They're stylish.
We'll see what we can do.
Thanks, Brandon.
Your coverage has been great, Brandon.
Thanks.
You know, many times wedding dates are chosen two years in advance.
Couples, they never thought their perfect day would
also be a Brewers World Series game.
Brewers World Series at that.
Samantha Courcy actually wanted to get married at American Family Field
and laughed when she was told it was a blackout date just
in case the Brewers would make it to
the World Series. Well, she booked with the Timber Rattlers instead.
She's going to get married there.
They're ballparks, so they are true baseball fans.
And then there's Tiffany Lenza. She's getting
married in Burlington. She says they had two dates
to choose from in October and landed on this
weekend. I just kind of looked at my fiance and I said,
you're the expert on all sport things. Like
what conflicts do we have and neither
of us even thought about the Brewers going all the way to the
World Series and that being a possibility I
was like well how cool would it be if the Brewers
were actually in the World Series
and well now we are which is like just a surreal like full circle
moment these ladies are very calm it's the World Series
and you're getting married the brides will
have the TVs on at their respective venues they
also are allowing guests to dress in Brewers gear
later in the evening
and they will be taking photos in the gear it makes the theme easy you
know what the theme's gonna be yes
and everyone's gonna be like super super excited congrats to
those two well a lot of people they're being introduced to our beer
and our brats and cheese
curds for the first time don't sleep
on the cranberries the incredible show of support from
local farmers plus we talked about how kids just seem to love the news
so it was only fitting a
very young reporter got to ask him a question
at media day the Pokemon energy the Brewer star says
who'll bring on the mound that's coming up
and it's just a little foggy in spots tonight yeah i can't
see a thing in downtown Milwaukee right now i'll show you
when that fog burns off what to expect
for Game One and Game Two if you're going
to be tailgating going to watch parties so much
excitement
I'll
have
your
forecast
coming
up
after
the
break
Something
special
The
Wisconsin
Cranberry Growers Association wishing
the Brewers very good luck in the series take a look at this
How do they do this? Cranberry growers in Wisconsin Rapids,
built a 100 foot by 115 foot baseball glove and ball design made just
from just harvested floating crimson cranberries.
Bet you can't do this in Tampa.
You're looking at millions of cranberries.
Wisconsin provides more than 60 percent
of the world's supply of cranberries.
That's impressive. Brewers ace Jacob Mizell gets
a lot of attention for his dazzling play on the mound.
But, as you already know,
he's a big fan of Pokemon cards, like really big.
People see him at card shops around town all the time.
And with that in mind, today at Media Day,
he fielded a Pokemon-themed question from a kid reporter.
You must be so excited to start Game 1 of the World Series,
and everyone knows how big of a Pokemon fan you are.
So, what Pokemon energy are you bringing into the mound on Game 1?
Oh, definitely flame. Definitely the flame energy.
you know gonna bring uh what's Charizard's
signature move i think it's fireball you know
gonna bring some fireballs
so i'll be ready they spoke a a different language to me
whatever you say Jacob i know
is that pokemon like language like it's a whole language
that's one of the characters i speak pokemon
i speak they all have like a different energy
like on the card that they can use i don't know how
to play it what's your energy news anchor
main character just i don't know about
that okay you know what's funny they've had these
they've had these kid reporters
in there yeah they sounded really good didn't they their questions
have been amazing they're like it's
not the typical how are you going to play on game one
like no they get some good answers out
of these players they do you know what i was just thinking
you guys it's a foggy night right we i mean downtown
is totally fogged in right now it's
october the rays are staying at the fister right
as we talked about oh spooky you know where i'm
going right there is no better night to have
the fister coast running up and down those halls
all night long that's true that would be a shame
if you kept them up all night keep them up all
night right yeah it's a little spooky across the area
which is fitting for this time of year right
It is so foggy. Let's talk about it here.
A dense fog advisory in effect.
Milwaukee, Waukesha, Ozaukee,
Washington and Racine counties until 10 a.m.
Now, as we typically see with these dense fog advisories,
counties get added throughout the night.
So we'll probably see more counties added
to this as the overnight hours tick on.
Take a look here. Visibility near zero in Waukesha,
a quarter of a mile in Milwaukee,
Half a mile Kenosha, quarter of a mile West Bend,
less than a quarter of a mile in Port Washington.
So we consider it to be dense fog
when it's a quarter of a mile or less in visibility.
So this is what I mean.
Look at downtown right now.
Can't see a thing.
Totally fogged in.
And then we go above the clouds here.
And I just got a great question in from a viewer
because we always talk about how the fog forms at the surface, right?
Where you have the temperature and the dew point being equal.
You can see the city lights here.
This is only a few hundred feet thick.
Heard from somebody at the airport.
Tons of flights are canceled tonight at Mitchell because,
well, we're stuck in the fog.
But what determines how tall the fog layer gets?
And the answer to that is both how cool it gets at the surface.
The air is actually warmer up here,
which means that just above the fog layer,
the temperature and the dew point spread out a lot
so it's nowhere near close to being saturated
so that thickness is very much dependent
on how cool it gets at the surface and then how much
warmer the consequential air is aloft
so it's actually warmer aloft than at the surface right
now so typically as we're seeing tonight the fog
is usually not very thick at all and this is our
airport tower camera here
which is just about a thousand feet uh in the air so you can
see this is only a few hundred feet thick really cool science
though isn't it but again for folks
stuck at the airport tonight
or having to drive around in this it's that white knuckle kind of
driving tonight because you can't really see
in front of you 54 degrees dew point 54 so the air
can't hold any more water so it condenses out
into tiny water droplets that we know of as a stratus
cloud on the ground that's the other trivia point
for you here is that fog is a stratus cloud on the
ground so our head is literally
in the clouds right now wind out of the northeast six miles
per hour temperatures 50s in most areas 49 Yorkville we're
not going to move much in the
temperature department here
because that temperature is reaching the dew point quiet
conditions outside of the fog overnight severe
weather continues rare there in the southwest
Well, let's get into Sky Vision Plus. Let's take a look here at the fog
because it's going to last until about 10 o'clock in the morning.
I agree with this end time here.
I think it's going to be foggy all morning.
But after 10 a.m., that's going to move on out and really burn off
as the temperature warms up and separates us from the dew point.
Really interesting here that the model can pick up on that fog here.
And then you'll notice by about 10,
11 o'clock in the morning, it goes away.
Then we just have some high clouds coming
in as we go into the afternoon and evening.
Temperatures tomorrow will be in the mid to upper 60s near the lake,
around 70 inland.
Bottom line with the tailgate forecast,
I know there are a lot of numbers on here,
it's going to be amazing both Friday and again on Saturday.
No fog tomorrow night like we have tonight.
So for the weekend, we're looking great.
Cool next week, highs in the 50s, chance for some rain by Tuesday.

Hall.
Kenosha's
getting
a
new
city administrator. You might know him.
Police Chief Patrick Patton will be stepping down from
his current position to take up the role.
Our Racine Kenosha County reporter Ben Hanson
talked with the chief, the current city
administrator, and Kenosha's mayor
asking how the decision was made and Patton's goals in the role.
I've been involved in city
government for 18 years now and I've seen a number
of city administrators. I can't remember one that
was unanimously approved.
Monday, the Common Council unanimously confirmed Patrick Patton,
the current Kenosha police chief, as the new city administrator.
Appointed by Kenosha Mayor
David Bogdala. But I think most importantly
is the way he conducts himself and he cares about
this community so much. Patton has served
as police chief for four years and the Kenosha
Police Department for 21.
And if you really invested in this community, you really understand
the need and the importance of the role
that John has fulfilled for so long. And I needed someone
that was going to step up, support the mayor,
support the city and keep it going. And the more
and more I learned from John,
the more and more interested I became in it. John Morrissey has been
city administrator for six years,
saying he is stepping down because of his age.
Well, I think the biggest challenge
now going forward is making sure that
whatever knowledge I have, I can give to Pat.
Morrissey announced his retirement in July.
The search for his replacement began immediately,
and Bogdala announced Patton's appointment last Wednesday.
Bogdala, Morrissey, and the
city's HR director had interviews with the finalists
for the job based on recommendations
from an outside panel. I'm going to spend
a lot of time focusing on learning from other
department heads, making sure I'm meeting their needs
to make sure that they're putting out the
best possible service they can to the entire community.
In Kenosha, Ben Hanson, Fox 6 News.
Patton will become the city administrator on January 1st,
2027, and Kenosha's deputy
police chief will serve as interim for up to a year during the search
for Patton's replacement,
and the decision will be made by the Police and Fire Commission.
