I think it's important for all of us to understand
that the trillion dollars in health care cuts
that Susan Collins paved the way for, right?
She will say, oh, I didn't vote for the big ugly bill.
She waited until they had enough votes.
But I'm going to tell you something. She voted. In
Congress, there's a lot of procedural votes that say,
you can go ahead. You can go ahead.
move it it doesn't just show up on the floor one day it has
to pass committee it passes rules and
at every single moment you have an opportunity to stand up
and say no in the votes that allowed
this trillion dollars in health care cuts to go
to the floor Susan Collins voted yes Susan
Collins senator Collins voted to allow this to proceed
at at every opportunity and it is only
when she thinks people aren't looking
and aren't paying attention that she'll vote no thinking you
don't know what she's up to that she waited until it went past
the post in order to say no when at
every other point when she said yes
but something that's very important for all of us to understand
is that this trillion dollars in health care cuts across
our systems is threatening the closure of
our rural hospitals and our urban hospitals alike.
But the first thing to go in every one
of these systems is labor and delivery and OBGYN.
It's when these hospitals need to stop the
bleeding, the first wing that closes is women, delivery, babies.
You can look at whether it's
Maine, New York, Iowa, everywhere in this country.
And I want to, and I raised that because not only
did Susan Collins pave the way for women
and people who are about to deliver a baby to have
their lives endangered through defunding,
but she also did it by supporting Brett Kavanaugh to the
Supreme Court and stood by him
and allowed Brett Kavanaugh to be named to the Supreme Court
when there were standing, credible allegations
of sexual assault against him. And that matters
because Susan Collins, one of the only
Republican female senators in a unique position
to protect every woman in America decided
to declare open season on us instead. And I want to
say for every woman in Maine,
if we want to be able to deliver our children safely and for our
men to, in order to protect our families in moments
of crises like these, the most important
thing that we can do for women in Maine is to vote
for Troy Jackson for the United States Senate.
Because Troy believes
in our reproductive
freedom.
Troy stands up for my and your right to choose,
both constitutionally and with dollars in our pockets.
He has stood up for our equal pay.
He has stood up for our rights.
And the most important thing for us as women
to do is to elect this man to the United States Senate.
