Pope Francis Preparatory School hosted a career fair today
and a familiar face spoke with students about a career in broadcast.
22 News reporter Nick Antonakis was at the school this morning
and joins us live in studio now with what kids learned.
Yeah, Julie, I was lucky to be a part
of the career fair this morning talking to students
at Pope Francis about my experience here at 22 News.
A variety of businesses and members of the community were at the school
this morning, giving students the opportunity to network
and build professional relationships.
22 News was represented at the career fair by Michael
from our sales department, as well as myself.
We were able to give perspectives on the variety
of different career opportunities at a TV station,
from Michael discussing his process
of building relationships with local businesses,
to me giving a day in the life of a news reporter
and telling the tales of some
of the great stories I've been able to cover.
To Leslie Perreault, a teacher
and the Pathways Career Exploration Coordinator at Pope Francis,
students having this opportunity is extremely impactful.
It's a great opportunity for them to meet
with people from many different careers
and look at what they might be looking at in their future,
especially for our seniors who are applying to colleges right now.
School alumni were also present to bring
their knowledge to the current Cardinals.
It was so great to talk with so many motivated Pope Francis students
and hear their career aspirations.
Working for you, Nick Antonakis, 22 News.
