The NFL has no answer for him right now
as this player on the Texans is currently leading
defensive player of the year conversations.
That along with some new injury updates and
who's expected to play this Sunday in a big week seven matchup.
What's up ladies and gentlemen
welcome back to Texans Digest.
I'm your host as always Isaac Estrada. Man we got a lot we
need to talk about today. I want to spotlight
a specific player who we all know and we want
to talk about today on being possibly
the defensive player of the year. That along with
some injury updates we have and we're
also going to dive into the Tankdale returning
situation so right before we dive into all
that man about 90 percent of you guys still not
subscribed we are on the road man
to 4,000 subscribers on this channel that is insane
to even say out loud but regardless if you are subscribed
or unsubscribed i appreciate you for
watching this video man let's
not waste any more time let's dive right into it so as we all knew
we all knew who was going to be let's
not lie here Will Anderson Jr. leads the NFL in pressures
and sacks he's on a career best pace
so far Will Anderson Jr. has had a phenomenal season so far
obviously I know against the Jacksonville Jaguars he didn't record
a single sack I don't think that's
all that matters we obviously know take a look back
at Will Anderson Jr.'s rookie year where
he thrived the most was getting pressures
and I think this season obviously he leads the league
in pressures but last last week I think
that's where he thrived at the most we don't always
need Will Anderson Jr. to get a three sack game
in order to make an impact obviously he thrives
in the pressures as well something I want to dive
into this one coming from Jacob Brazil on X
Will Anderson Jr. leads the NFL with 37 pressures 7.5 sacks
and 18 quick pressures this season
via Next Gen Stats, absolutely insane Anderson has
the fastest time of pressure in his career so far
within 2.55 seconds after
that ball is getting snapped on a guy who plays over
75% of defensive snaps, we're going to take a look
at it here in a second because that is a fact
he is getting there within 2.55 seconds
and also is converting his pressures into a sack at a
career rate of 20.3, that is the insane part about
this, that is why i wanted to highlight this video
is because long as we have Will Anderson Jr.
on that defense, this defense is always going to have
a chance in my opinion, one let's say he gets four five pressures
because Will Anderson Jr. has 37
on the season, for every five pressures he has one
of those is going to be a sack statistically
speaking, that is an insane number to look at man
and having Will Anderson Jr. on this defense
we're always going to have a chance
and i wanted to start off this video by just highlighting it
I feel like everyone's talking about how good CJ Stroud's
been and CJ Stroud deserves the credit
because this offense has been rolling
but because this defense is still going to backslide a lot of
people aren't willing to take a look
at Will Anderson Jr. and understand how good he's doing
this season how he's at a career pace, something I want
to take a look at really quickly, put it on
the graphics Will Anderson Jr.'s rookie year seven sacks
in 15 games, in the first 60 games he's
already surpassed that amount of sacks.
Not only that, 28 tackles, 16 solo tackles, 12
assisted tackles this season alone.
He's on a career pace and dare I even say generational
pace. Will Anderson Jr. is looking phenomenal.
1.25 sacks a game. Imagine if he would have
gotten a sack in his last game
how much more different we'd be talking about it. The fact
that we are approaching Week Seven
and Will Anderson Jr. is 2.5 sacks away from already
hitting double digits in sacks is insane
And sacks don't account for everything. As
we talked about it sacks do not account for everything
because he's on a career pace with
pressures as well, that is an insane stat to look
at guys I just want to bring to light how insane it
is how a career pace this guy is on how insane it
is to already say that so just wanted to give him
a little bit of spotlight and as promised look
at the second number right there obviously we'll
talk about the first one
but the first one it holds a little bit less weight
quarterbacks have to know where he
is on every snap he has eight sacks 7.5 against the league
medium of zero of players who have played
as much obviously if we look at the top players they have
more than zero sacks in his position i know that he's
on this is what i wanted to look at he's on
the field for almost every defensive snap 78
of the team's defensive snaps he is on for a defensive
end that is insane look at this 50
for the league medium defensive end Will Anderson Jr let's look
at the medium for the defensive end he's 25 over 25 above
that 28 above that league medium is insane
And he's on the ball.
He's around the ball in almost every single play.
He has 828 tackles against a league medium
of five among players who play as much.
That is insane.
And I just wanted to take a second.
I say a second.
We've already been going for four minutes talking about this dude.
To just show him some credit.
Just show him some credit.
This defense has had its struggles this year.
The offense is finally getting going.
Nick Haley.
CJ Stroud.
That offense is finally getting going.
But regardless if D'Amico Ryans was the defensive coordinator or not.
Will Anderson Jr. has been balling this year.
And I think we need to talk about it just a little bit more.
But on to the next news, man.
So this one, some big news, which you guys all wanted to hear.
Aziz Al-Shair launched second straight practice
on track for Sunday's game versus the Giants.
So Aziz, we know he was dealing with injuries,
but he's back at practice, something we're
going to dive into right here.
So this one coming from Aaron Wilson.
Obviously, you guys know Aaron Wilson on the practice,
a squad on the practice every single
day for the Houston Texans.
This is what he had to say.
Second consecutive practice
for Texans Pro Bowl middle linebacker Aziz Al-Shair.
Obviously, he's been dealing with a knee injury.
He's all set to go Sunday versus the Giants
and tight end Dalton Schultz's quad as well.
They're both going to play.
But I want to specifically highlight Aziz
because when Aziz is on the field, man,
he's going to change it.
He's going to change it
and we're going to look at the key insights here.
He's around the ball in almost every single play.
He has 49 tackles on the season
against the league median of five.
Again, look at top players at his position like Aziz.
They have more than five.
This is the league median for everyone who's on the field,
I would imagine.
Who's everyone who's played six games.
he's on the field for almost every defensive snap
this one is the insane part
for linebackers
because obviously when we talk about defensive ends
we're talking about
we're talking about Will Anderson Jr
he's getting pressures every single game
but it's different for linebackers
linebackers are on the field more
92% of the team's defensive snaps
he's on the field for
against the league median
about 54% for linebackers
and like we said
availability is the best ability
and not only does Aziz play at such a high level
he's not one of those linebackers
that's on the field for 90% of the time
but he's not doing jack squat
I think it's great as well to have him back on the field.
Obviously a great leader.
So having Aziz back is some phenomenal news.
Something else I want to talk about.
We're going to cap off this video on a bit of a sweet note.
But something I do want to talk about.
Tank Dell.
Coming back from injury this Sunday.
I know we're all thinking, what should we expect from Tank Dell?
Something I want to dive into really
quickly is that Tank Dell is still human.
He took almost two years off of layoff due to that knee injury
that he suffered at Arrowhead a few years back in 2024.
Tank Dell, man.
this is one of those crazy stories that we look
at and we say hey hardly ever do we see a player
miss two years of action and come back
and he's still on the same team and he's still considered
a starting caliber player we're looking
at that with Tank Dell a lot of people have written this
guy off and I've even seen the comments I've seen
the comments some people are saying hey with such
a stacked wide receiver room does Tank Dell even have
a place on this team yes Tank Dell is always
going to have a place on this team let's take
a look here this is what Tank Dell had to say when
talking to the media following
that injury he's grateful thankful it was a traumatic injury I know
it's very short and sweet and to the point I just
very quickly wanted to highlight that in today's
news video because having Tank Dell come back
from such a dramatic injury is insane man and Houston
Texans are no see are no no slouches
to understanding the effects of of serious traumatic
events John Meeks came back from freaking cancer man
that guy is a baller obviously not on this
team anymore playing for the Carolina Panthers
but I think the same way we got behind our players in
the past we need to get behind Tank Dell
and understand that he's going to have a breakout
he still has a lot of momentum man I don't care
if this receiver record has four other receivers
who have proven themselves Tank Dell is always going
to have a spot on this team man but that
is all the news we have today on Texans Digest. They have
a big game this Sunday man, big game this
Sunday versus the Giants I think this defense
is going to demolish JJ McCarthy I don't think JJ
stands a chance against this defense I think they're just going
to outperform him from start
to finish. JJ's good, man. JJ's solid.
People want to talk about how he had 200 plus passing
yards in one quarter in 11 minutes of play.
Let's dissect that a little bit. It was in garbage time.
Obviously, they knew they were going to lose already.
It was in garbage time. Sure, JJ was
slinging it around, getting it going.
I don't think he's going to do that against the Texans
defense. I don't think he's going to do that against the guy
who's leading the league, who's
leading the NFL when it comes to defensive player
of the year opportunities. I don't think JJ's
going to have that same kind of opportunity I think
this offense is going to put pedal to the
mental and outwork the Giants offense, they're going
to keep them in a momentum where they're constantly
behind and having to keep up and I have full faith
in this team and I think this team is going to
have another great win and we're going
to be one step closer to getting out of the dirt, started off
the season 0-4, we're starting to get out of the dirt
and I can't wait to see it this Sunday man, so
thank you guys so much for watching today
on Texans Digest, have a great day, have a blessed
day I'll see you guys tomorrow
