James Kaufman, World News Report today.
Ladies and gentlemen,
we have that tropical system that I had spoken about.
It did end up jumping over the Yucatan Peninsula.
It's now in the Gulf of Mexico.
It looks like it wants to hug the coast of Mexico
and then maybe make landfall in Texas or Louisiana.
Now, right now,
there's only a 20% chance of it becoming a tropical storm.
It's a tropical low currently,
but we've had no other activity in the Gulf or the Atlantic this year.
This is the first, as far as I know, no named storm.
We have had some activity in the Pacific already this year.
Now, as this moves into really warm waters, i.e.,
up and down the coast of Mexico and up and down the coast of Texas,
it should strengthen quite a bit.
It looks like it wants to make landfall around Houston, Texas, maybe
the border of Houston and Louisiana, or maybe it keeps coming around.
Very hard to say.
But I see something like this happening.
Looks like it wants to come in from right in this area here.
This might change, but currently that's where it wants to come in.
Now, it might not come in as a tropical storm.
It might come in as just a tropical low.
But I would expect heavy winds and rain no matter what occurs.
And we know that that's never any fun if it does,
well, come into the Houston area
or any of the populated areas on the Texas coast.
Take a look at this on Windy.com.
Although they don't do a lot with it.
Again, a 20% chance up 10%.
It successfully crossed over into the Gulf of Mexico,
and it looks like it wants to hug the coast of Mexico and Texas.
Real hard to determine where it might make landfall based on this,
but it looks like it could bring rains to the entire Gulf Coast,
Mexico, Texas, and perhaps even Louisiana.
All right, now you see the onward shore winds here,
and you would think that it would move on shore.
This is the disturbance here.
You'd think it would move on shore before it got up to North Texas,
but the National Hurricane Center and Windy do disagree.
Let's take a look here.
This is today, Saturday, and it's still offshore.
offshore. It looks like it might start raining
by tomorrow evening even. Wow, it's still Saturday
tomorrow. I think it wants to come up
and hug that Texas coast around Corpus Christi. This is
into Sunday here. I'm going to keep running this through Monday,
Tuesday, Wednesday. Again,
the National Hurricane Center said
that they thought it would hug the coast. It's like a whole
another system now forming we do see more problems
down south of Jamaica and south of the Yucatan
peninsula and north this is just Tuesday here
and it looks like it's dissipated this is windy.com
and this is using their AI systems
so it could bring some rains tomorrow uh well later today
Saturday and into tomorrow's Sunday,
perhaps even Monday, and it looks like it breaks up,
although it looks like several might be forming in this area,
several tropical lows. This is going
to be Thursday the 18th, and we saw a lot more wind
and a lot more rain coming on shore. Let's
run it in a different mode here you can see
the tropical low this one's doing a little bit more
with the National Hurricane Center says it's supposed
to i don't know what just happened
it's like we have a front coming from the north
as well that might break it up still have something
there that goes but it hasn't made it Texas now
if the where it looks like the low might hit the high
right above Texas Texas Gulf Coast and that could
mean big problems for Sunday and Monday it looks
like and maybe even into Tuesday let's hope nothing like that occurs
and that said you saw
it right there what we've got here is we've got
a high pressure forming up here all this moisture
coming on, and when the high meets the low,
well, it's a recipe for tornadoes, it's a
recipe for heavy rains and wind,
and an acceleration of the event, and that looks exactly like
it wants to do that tomorrow evening, Sunday,
and then into Monday, which is going to happen
much quicker that's into Monday and into Tuesday
and still the Tuesday much quicker than anyone
hoped that said fingers crossed let's hope
that that high doesn't push through look at that and
get caught up with all that all that moisture coming
in from the Gulf uh please share guys
give us a thumbs up be careful get
your supplies ready it's officially hurricane season and
hopefully we'll keep you updated tomorrow
and have some more information
make sure to give us a thumbs up and subscribe if you haven't god bless
