Instant Analysis of the 49ers’ 29-20 Loss to the Atlanta Falcons

The 49ers just lost 29-20 to the Atlanta Falcons
and this isn't the end of the world.
I think a lot of us predicted the Niners would lose this game.
They didn't have a lot of their players.
They would beat the Falcons later in the season if they were healthy,
but you know what? It hurts because the Niners still should have won
this game and they pretty much beat themselves for a couple of reasons.
I mean, none of the faces played well.
Raheem Morris' defense wasn't great, but Eddie Pinero needs to get cut.
I was a big fan of Eddie Pinero, but he's no longer Pinero.
He's just Pinero. He missed
Another extra point.
He's officially the worst extra point kicker
in the history of the world,
and he's got to go.
I'm so sorry.
The technical term for what he is is he sucks.
And then there's Brock Purdy.
I mean, Brock Purdy was the MVP favorite coming into this game.
This is one of the easier teams he faced, and he threw two picks,
and one was worse than the other, and he also had a turnover on downs.
I mean, he had one pick.
He was trying to throw the ball out of bounds and got intercepted.
And then with the game on the line,
he threw a pick right to a linebacker he didn't see coming.
That was a Jimmy Garoppolo pick.
But still, I blame Eddie because if Eddie had made his extra point,
then the Niners would have been in a position at the end down eight
to actually lead a drive that would have, you know, tied the game.
But instead, they were down nine.
George Kittle fumbled.
Jordan Watkins had a great game.
I can't believe the Niners lost this game.
And you know what else was lost?
The MVP award for Brock Purdy.
Forget about that.
But hey, the good news is they're 6-1,
they're still the best team in the league, and they
get a week off.
So we'll see what they do after the bye week.
