AI GeneratedThe speaker analyzes the top five NFL teams and key MVP candidates heading into week eight. The Buffalo Bills are ranked first, driven by Josh Allen's dominance, followed by the Vikings, 49ers, Chiefs, and Bears. The discussion highlights the critical roles of star quarterbacks and defensive coordinators in shaping the current league standings.
This is my top five football teams after week seven
and heading in to week eight of the National Football League.
Look, I love these Bears.
I think these Bears are absolutely sensational.
I think the job that Ben Johnson has done.
I love the stuff that Kevin Allen has done on the other side too, man.
Dennis Allen has really done a great job as the defensive coordinator
of the Chicago Bears on that side of the football, man.
And they've really got a great dynamic
in coaching staff there in Chicago.
Look, I know the Chiefs took it hard.
In this last weekend, they got a loss here,
but I still think the Chiefs, they get that running game
and keep that running game going.
Make no mistake about it, I think Kansas City
is one of your better teams
in the AFC, if not the best team in the AFC.
Look, the 49ers, I know, look, another tough loss.
They were undefeated heading into that game this past weekend.
But look, I'm a big believer in Brock Purdy.
I love what Kyle Shanahan has done.
The big question mark for the 49ers is obviously going to be Aiyuk.
It's been that way for the last couple years.
Look, I think George Kittle is absolutely
the best tight end in all of football right now.
And Purdy finds him,
but McCaffrey is the engine of that team that keeps that thing going.
Look, I don't know how the Minnesota Vikings are undefeated.
They have no offense.
They're one of the worst offensive football teams in all the NFL.
And here they are right now, sitting there at number two,
with the best defensive football team in the NFL.
Brian Flores has done a marvelous job at being
the defensive coordinator of that football team
they really have done a great job you know I got
the number one team as the Buffalo Bills
look I know their defense is not where it needs to be but boy
when you got Josh Allen Josh Allen
is without a doubt the absolutely kingpin
and linchpin to this thing right now in the NFL
they have a great offense right now the running attack is great
and I love what they did in the
offseason by elevating Joe Brady
and getting rid of Sean McDermott look I think Sean McDermott's a
good coach but Joe Brady has really connected now with Josh Allen
and that looks like the right fit
for years to come then Buffalo need to fix up that defense
but there's my top five also my MVP
look kind of the same grouping of teams with the players
that have been essential in this start of
the season so far. Kenneth Walker kind of held
at bay this past weekend. Still, this guy's
got 668 yards. He has absolutely been the reason
that the Kansas City Chiefs look like, again,
one of the more dominant teams, as we said, in the AFC.
And when you look at Seattle's
ills and their issues that they had
when it came to being able to win ball games,
I think the inconsistency in that offense has
been the fact that they lost Blake Cubiak
to the Raiders, but they also lost Walker.
Speaking of Seattle, is there a better wide
receiver in pro football than JSN?
This guy is a game changer. This guy is a guy that moves the
needle. Anytime they need a big play,
he is without a doubt just absolutely the best wide
receiver in all of pro football.
But Joe Burrow and that Bengals team, in my opinion, really
starting to make some noise here.
Look, I love the fact that they added some defensive pieces.
The big question mark is going to be on that offensive line.
I'm going to give you a number
here for Joe Burrow over the last five years.
Over the last five years, Joe Burrow, PFF,
if you believe in PFF, the average grade
for their offensive line is 28th, which means a 28th best
offensive line and Joe Burrow has put up some
of the greatest numbers in NFL history the question
mark is going to be all the moves that they made
in the offseason in the defensive line
and also in the offensive line is that going
to be enough to propel Cincinnati into a position
where they can contend for an AFC Burrow
and Jamar Chase and all them guys T Higgins
no question about it man Joe Burrow right now
is having another fabulous season Brock Purdy I know
wasn't a great week he had a horrible interception this past weekend
but Purdy has put up some of
the best numbers so far in San Francisco 49er history I had
a conversation a couple of days ago
with Steve Young and Steve Young was saying he's
not really seen anybody in the NFL that progression
reads as well as what Brock Purdy does now it
also helps that you have Kyle Shanahan sitting there
also and being your play caller there's
no question about it man make no mistake and number one look
Josh Allen is the number one guy in all
of pro football he is just absolutely the best player
in the game right now weekend
and week out you see him playing weekend and week out you see him
carrying his football team there is no doubt like we said
the combination between Joe Brady
and what you had with the head coach
and being able to connect with the quarterback,
it has been a great relationship so far.
Now, the question is going to be whether or not
the defensive side of the football
is going to be able to help Josh Allen.
Here's the one thing you got to remember with Allen.
Can Josh Allen win four games in a row?
Can he win possibly three games in a row?
Which means this, folks.
He's got to be Superman each and every single weekend.
He's gotta be.
