Welcome back at 6:14, and I want to start out
with a look at our exclusive Fox Weather model.
Now, today, everything looks fine.
If there was a stray, isolated sprinkle,
it would be down to the south, into Matagorda or Jackson County.
As we look ahead in time, notice West Texas getting in on some rounds
of thunderstorms, some heavy ones possible out there at times.
Here's a look at tomorrow.
You're going to see a quick-moving little area of showers possible,
so we do include a 20% rain chance for you tomorrow.
and then that'll hang around through Wednesday as well.
But at the end here, I want to just pull back here
and show you what's happening out in northern Mexico,
and that is that we're going to get this streak of moisture
coming in partially from the remnants of Tropical Storm Vance,
and that'll be helped along by disturbance in the jet stream
and upper-level trough.
So that'll move across the area, most likely coming up on Friday,
could hang around through Saturday.
So it's that Friday and then Halloween time frame
when we actually have our best chance for rain.
Hopefully it'll move out.
in time for trick or treating
but it is still looking rainy during that general time frame
right now we're in the low and middle 60s in Houston
but some really brisk low 50s to the
north again a lot of this has been caused by the fact
that we've had more cloud cover to the south
less cloud cover to the north this has happened
a lot recently over the last several days around
the Gulf Coast 65 in New Orleans right now 60
in Lake Charles about 63, Palacios and 70 with a few
stray showers down around parts of deep South Texas
and into the Rio Grande Valley this is a
look at thunderstorm chances today
and also severe chances today no severe weather is expected but
the largest area of some potential thunderstorms
is out into parts of West Texas and tomorrow that
creeps this way just a little bit closer to us
so parts of our area could have a couple of isolated
thunderstorms tomorrow but i think primarily it's just going
to be showers all right when we take a
look at the upper level winds.
You'll see that dip in the jet stream right there. That's what's
pulling moisture in our direction through the day today.
And it'll be partially what helps to pull
some of the moisture from that tropical system
into our area coming up Friday and Saturday. So
looking good this morning and a pretty quiet day,
kind of a mix of sun and clouds, high temperatures
topping out right around 83, maybe 84.
Tomorrow, low 80s with a slight chance for a few showers.
A similar day coming up Wednesday, Thursday,
slightly better rain chance heading into Friday
and Halloween Saturday.
