Halloween week is bringing a little bit of everything to southern New England.
The scariest weather may arrive before Halloween, with widespread frost and freezing conditions expected Wednesday morning after several days with highs stuck in the 50s. It will feel more like late fall than late October.
But don't put away the costumes just yet. A major warm-up arrives by the end of the week, with temperatures climbing back into the 70s by Friday.
Here's your Boston 25 weather expert, Chief Meteorologist Sherry Spear.
Welcome back from the weekend.
We've got wake-up temperatures in the 30s and 40s this morning,
so you're going to want to grab the jacket.
Short sleeves underneath, though, because we're looking at upper 60s,
lower 70s this afternoon, and full sun.
So we're on the warmer side of this front for today.
Front comes through tonight,
and that leads us to a cooler weather pattern
for the day tomorrow, so I just want to set expectations.
We've definitely got some temperature ups and downs this week,
some passing clouds this evening,
but any rain chances stay across northern New England as just
a spot shower. We keep it dry and pretty bright for the day today,
about 70 in Boston, low 70s
in the Merrimack Valley and Metro West as well.
Some upper 60s in Worcester, North Shore and South
Shore too. Overnight tonight,
we're going to fall into the 30s and 40s. I mentioned some passing
clouds. Tomorrow, though, we brighten right up.
Do expect, though, a much cooler day. And with
highs only in the 50s tomorrow,
I have a feeling a lot of you are going to keep the jacket on
most of the day this is your rainfall
the whole upcoming week you know how many rain here in
southern New England it is going to be a rain free week kind
of makes it easier grabbing sunglasses
probably layers most days it actually gets warm towards
the end of the week so it's going to be
mild in time for Halloween again you can see
Tuesday Wednesday shape up a little bit below
average and chilly and then we're flirting with 70 again
by the end of the week with 60s expected
over the weekend don't forget we change the clocks
on Saturday night into Sunday morning which means
We're going to fall back and we've got some
really early sunrises and sunsets on Sunday.
So seven-day forecast for the weekend always in view as that cool highs
in the 50s forecast Tuesday, Wednesday, 67 degrees Thursday, Friday.
Sunshine and 70 looks good and it should
be mild for trick-or-treating too.
