All right, welcome back.
This is our live camera view from Flagstaff.
What a shot it is.
Looks gorgeous out there.
The leaves are looking a little more barren than they
were a couple of weeks ago.
No surprise as we've been passing peak color up
in the highest points of our state, like here in Flagstaff.
We are looking now towards the next storm that will be moving our way.
Not until this weekend, but it will yet again be dropping those temps,
which will keep us chilly in Flag.
Right now we're at 29 degrees with calm winds.
And how about the high country?
We got more snow this weekend.
Can you believe it?
This is Snowbowl Ski Report.
Six inches this weekend fell atop Snowbowl.
Brings the season total to 10 inches of snow.
The projected opening date is November 20th.
So obviously right now no trails or lifts are open.
but within the month we are expecting that they'll
be opening up at least some of those trails and
runs as mother nature's been really providing
and it's been cold enough they're also making snow
at this point here's our view on Fox Vision dry across
the entire state a few clouds down in
southeastern Arizona and there is still that flood warning
that is in place until 9 a.m this morning
along the Little Colorado River from Bird Springs to Loop
so in the Wind Cave to Loop area is where
that alert is in place. That is due to residual moisture
that's been running downstream from all
the rain that fell in the southwest over the weekend.
So we're talking even up in like Utah
and Colorado that has been draining down into some of our reservoirs,
which actually is great news to
see how that has helped us out.
Our look on a future cast as we go forward today, just a few
passing clouds, particularly in the high country during the day
and into this evening, otherwise
dry conditions. Dry tonight into your Tuesday morning
and right on through to your afternoon.
notice there's just nothing going on with the exception
of some scattered clouds rolling by.
So let's talk longer range because that's when the change does arrive.
High pressure setting up over parts
of the southeast portions of the country here
and an area of low pressure setting up over
the northwest corner of the country.
We are in the in-between,
so that means our temperature doesn't move much the next few days
and our sky is mostly clear and dry the next few days.
But look what happens as we go towards the end of the work week.
this is your Friday, that area of low pressure starts
to form a really beautiful like troughing effect,
which means that you've got cooler air starting to pool,
you've got moisture starting to pool,
and that wrap around the low should start
to drive some of that moisture into Arizona.
So as soon as Friday, we've got rain and thunderstorms in the forecast.
Then a branch of that low starts to break off closer to us into Sunday,
which means Saturday into Sunday,
additional chances of rain
and storms will be in the forecast with that temperature slipping down
the flood risk outlook has already been put out
for friday into saturday morning with at least
scattered flash floods possible around central portions
of the state as a result of this changing
pattern for the weekend our forecast highs 85 degrees
in phoenix 80 in safford and 60 in flagstaff
kingman in the middle 70s today
and like i said not a lot of change the next few days so we're
still in the mid upper 80s Tuesday, Wednesday, even Thursday.
But Friday we dropped to the 70s
and that chance of rain best on Friday and Sunday.
But there is at least a chance for
some scattered showers on Halloween.
