Well, if you've been scrolling through social
media lately, there is a good chance our next
guest has already put a smile on your face.
Samson Herman is a Minnesota native and a big
Milwaukee Brewers fan.
He has some love for Wisconsin sports, but also Minnesota sports as
well. After a video of him went viral online
and captured the internet's heart, his newfound fame
led to an unforgettable surprise,
tickets to game two of the World Series. So I got a chance to chat
with Samson about his wild ride
this afternoon after attending game two.
And then we just had this miraculous comeback and it was great.
I mean, I was really thinking,
oh, maybe this is impossible.
And then we get like five runs over the course of whatever.
And then we just shut them out over the course
of the rest of the game and it was great.
Yeah. Yeah, the first ending wasn't great,
but then after that, it was all good. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
But they had one like that in LA.
So when he looked at me and he was getting choked up,
like how can this be happening?
Cuz he's never seen them lose in a playoff game, right?
But anyways, they were behind in LA at one point pretty deep
and they always bounce back.
And that's the next man up attitude, I think, that brews him.
All of this kind of took off just so fast, right?
You guys had the interview by Fox 6,
and then I feel like everything just sort of escalated from there.
Have you even had time to process what this time has been like?
Yeah, I do. I mean, and so that video with Ted was 47 seconds,
and it's kind of the 47 seconds
I tell him that changed his ability to see the World Series, right?
Because we would have been
in no position uh to pay for the world series
for sure um the tickets in Los Angeles were only uh
a couple hundred bucks a seat and in ADA on the top tier
but the World Series tickets were were
quite pricey so so i think we feel blessed i think
that we're we're blessed all the time by
the people that come up to him like we i i can't even make
this up we literally pulled into the
hotel, it was a Holiday Inn.
And the guy that does maintenance outside, he came right over
and he said, hi, Samson.
And then he wanted to meet him for his mom. And then an Amazon
truck pulled up and both guys were like,
we gotta meet you for our grandma.
And then we're talking about probably more than 100 people later.
People just knew him
there, they recognized him and they wanted to meet him.
And one guy even said, thank
you for bringing us a World Series, Samson.
If you hadn't said that, it wouldn't happen
without you. And that's completely crazy to me.
But no, it's been really fun. We just
try to take it one step at a time.
And I think we're nearly at the end here, other than winning
it all, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Samson, you're famous. How do you feel?
It feels real. And the people in our school,
the people in the community, the people
in the world, they support me and it just feels great, so.
Yeah, well, I think you support the Brewers
and they love the fact that you were so
fired up about the Brewers when Ted interviewed you.
But I think that's the goal. I mean,
People are saying, this should go for seven games
or this should go back to Milwaukee.
That's not what I'm thinking. I'm thinking let's sweep it in Tampa.
We can definitely have a parade
in Milwaukee after it's done, right buddy?
Yeah, yeah. So we'll see.
Okay, Samson, what are we thinking for the next games? We have two wins
already. What do you think? I'm saying game three is tonight.
I'm saying we'll just take that one six to two
and then tomorrow the next day's game,
game four, I'm saying we win that one three to two in extras.
Okay, okay.
There's some bold calls, so I don't know, I don't know.
My money's on you though, I bet you're right, I bet you're right.
Certainly any kid with special needs
that sees what's happened to Samson and
this opportunity to, you know, you know,
be out there in the public eye with special needs
and supporting the Brewers,
I would think that they would absolutely get
a lift from this. How could they not?
