All right, the Milwaukee Brewers have
the opportunity to sweep the World Series tonight.
Game four, first pitch tonight right here on Fox at seven o'clock.
Will they do it and make
Major League Baseball history?
Only time will tell, but it sure is exciting. First time they've
been to the World Series since 1982.
Fox 6 reporter Ashley Sears joins us now live from
Florida. What an assignment, Ashley.
They send you down to Florida to cover the brew
crew.
Yeah, how could you turn an opportunity down like this?
We are in St. Petersburg.
We're at a bar called Ferg's,
and this is just outside of Tropicana Field. This is a
raised bar, but today it seems like it is a brewer's bar.
This place is filled with
Brewers fan.
What's up?
How's it going?
Go Brewers.
See, it feels like we're in Tampa.
It does.
Where are you from?
Milwaukee.
It feels like we're in Milwaukee.
I know, I know, I know.
Born and raised.
But I'm not here for the game.
Coincidentally, here in town on a cruise.
But, you know, I got to come down and experience it.
Best vacation ever, huh?
Having fun out here.
There are fans from all over.
Thanks for giving the shout-out. I appreciate it.
Fans from all over Wisconsin visiting here or coming to the game
because for a lot of fans it was actually cheaper to fly down here,
buy tickets, and stay at a hotel than
to do standing room at American Family Field.
I want you to meet some of these fans.
They came from Racine, Wisconsin, Kenosha, Wisconsin area.
You guys are going to the game tonight. What are you expecting?
Well, we're hoping for a sweep, and flying here on the plane,
we're watching it live, and we were hooting and hollering.
The students had to come on and tell us to be quiet on the plane.
People were saying that they were going to give us
a parachute if we went quiet down, but tonight's the night.
We're going for a sweep.
We're seeing Kenosha. We're representing.
We even have a Cubs fan here, which I find interesting.
He says he's celebrating the 10-year anniversary
of the Cubs World Series win,
which was another historic win.
Have fun tonight, guys.
Can you believe how many Brewers fans are here?
Oh, of course.
They all flew in for this.
Why wouldn't they?
This is a raised bar, but it doesn't feel like that today, huh?
It's a Brewer bar.
We bought it.
We bought it today.
We bought it for today.
It's a takeover here, Courtney.
It's a ton of fun out.
here in St. Petersburg, a lot of these fans say they're going
to come over here tonight after the
game. They're also going to celebrate the big win.
That's what everyone's expecting. They want to
sweep, and they believe that it'll happen.
Last night, this place was absolutely bonkers, and we
were here when we watched a lot of Rays fans leave early,
and this slowly but surely became
the Brewers hangout, and it was a ton of fun last night.
Wow. Okay, so last night's game was
something else because they scored eight runs just
in the fifth inning alone the final score
was 10 to 1 it sounds like you were there taking in the scene
but i am curious you know a lot of
people that you're talking to they're saying sweep we want to sweep
but i know that you're
talking to your viewers in Milwaukee as well
and hearing feedback there do you think everyone wants
a sweep or do some people want to see it come back to Milwaukee
and have it hope it happen
on home turf no no I think everyone wants
a sweep I don't think anyone wants a nail biter
uh you know that would be nice for it to happen on home turf
but it's been kind of fitting they've
won uh they're all their series on the road
so uh there'll be a celebration in Milwaukee too don't
don't worry about that I'm sure all the bars
and American Family Field where they're hosting a
watch party will also be hopping tonight.
If there is a sweep, we'll always find ways to
celebrate. We're the beer and cheese capital of the world.
So we're ready to celebrate no matter
where the win happens.
Yeah, we have heard that for those first couple of games, Milwaukee was
just electric. And you could see last night
in the stadium at Tropicana Field there in St.
Petersburg, Florida, it was, I mean,
it was full of Brewers fans, so they travel well.
This is the first time the Brewers have
been to the World Series since 1982.
I just have to know how fans are feeling after all that time
and finally making it to this
spot where they are now.
Unbelievable, and a lot of the fans we've spoken
to went to that game because tickets
then, believe it or not, were $8.
So a lot of people were kids back then. They went to
the game, they stood and watched it with these obstructed views
and they watched a loss.
And they're back, they say this means everything to them.
It's so emotional for so many people
and they feel really blessed to be a part of it
and to watch it happen the way it's
happening.
Yeah.
Feels like magic.
Truly, truly. And we're twins fans here,
but in this moment, we are Brewers fans. We're
We're cheering for the Brewers in this series.
And I gotta ask you though,
because you interviewed that guy who was on a cruise and stopped into
town.
We've been hearing a lot of stories of people
that are simply flying to Tampa to just be
in the vicinity.
They don't even have tickets.
We heard the same thing about Milwaukee, people flying to Milwaukee.
They don't even have tickets to the game.
They just wanna be there and feel the energy.
Are you running into that?
That's Tom over here.
Yes, yes.
feeling that energy I have to tell you last night so we're we're not a
credentialed crew so we're standing outside
and we feel that energy it feels
like we're all still a part of where you
turn there's brewers fans all around us
Wow Wow they certainly showed up
They just ran into each other.
They're brother-in-laws.
Where are you guys from?
I'm actually from Minnesota.
We're on the air with Fox 9 in Minneapolis.
Hello, people in TV land and all my family in Racine
and Milwaukee and Franklin.
Oh, gosh, this is such an experience.
I can't believe that we're here.
Have you ever been a Twins fan?
No.
No, no, no, no, no.
Are you going to the game tonight?
Oh, yeah.
We have tickets.
We bought them before we even knew.
Like, when the Rays won, we're like, we're in.
Game four.
I was, like, just here on a whim.
And here we are already.
Game four.
We heard from a lot of fans that it
was cheaper to fly here to get the tickets.
Oh, my gosh.
So much affordable.
I mean, we were already here.
So, I visited some friends on Sanibel Island.
It was very nice.
Very relaxing.
And then, oh, my gosh, last night, crazy house.
I can't believe what happened, crazy house.
Were you at the game yesterday as well or- No, I wish, I wasn't there.
All right, so you're hoping tonight that they finish this?
So my brother right there,
he bought game four tickets ahead of time, right there.
RT, RT.
Wow.
I love it, I can't believe he did that.
We're bringing you Minnesota people here too,
just to make it feel more like a-
Thank you, thank you.
Good work, Ashley, good work.
We so appreciate you making the time, Ashley. I know you're busy.
One heck of an assignment. Have so much fun.
Take it all in and we so appreciate making the time.
All right, thanks. Go Brewers.
Go Brewers. You can see the excitement there
in Florida as game four gets ready to start.
