Per request I show what I keep in my daily use tool bag. #hvac #veto #klein #fieldpiece #tech-mct #loadout
Good morning guys.
I have been asked many a time to do a video on what I keep in my bag.
But I must say I have to I keep two
of them and many other tools
up here because I used to have
a great big old backpack that I carried around.
You may see it in some of my earlier videos but
I hurt my back and that thing was really heavy like over 80 pounds.
So I divided up my tools
and i tried to keep just you know
the basic stuff i need to diagnose things in this bag
on the outside i've got a magnetizer
a pocket knife forgive me electric tape a crescent wrench
which you need for taking off some valve caps
and a sharpie on the inside i love to keep one
of these brushes they're very useful
for cleaning things out i keep
a smaller phillips head
screwdriver i keep one of these i think these are like 11
and ones it's got a quarter and five
sixteenths here um phillips and a flathead
thermostat screwdriver and these can remove
schrader cores these are made just for HVAC technicians
and yes i have the quarter and five
sixteenths magnetic here
but i have found that sometimes i need these both quarter and five
16th magnetic nut drivers a flathead screwdriver i
cannot remember exactly what size this is but um
some electrical connections contactors
and shorting capacitors i like a flathead screwdriver for that
this is to unlock all the um unlocking all
the locking valve caps inside it has
the other ones
this one unlocks some of them but it's
also the um valve core removal piece
that you need
this is also one of the this is for the JB lock
and valve caps i keep a service wrench i have had
this one for about a decade i think and in here
i've got um a jumper let's see what else a valve
core removal tool in fact i think i'm gonna take that out of that spot
because it can get dirty in
there um we all need a set
of what we call Kleins these also crimp
but um i don't really use that
for crimping anymore i use this although that's an excellent crimper
and this is my favorite
wire stripper this is brand new from Klein
and they really just copied the Knipex wire stripper
but this is a big improvement over the one that i
was using what we call dykes they're called dykes
because they're diagonal cutters channel locks i
think these are i'm not sure i think these are
clones but um Knipex
also makes some really good ones needle
nose pliers this is i don't think this
is the half inch this is just a a drill bit i can use
in my impact i have a half inch here on the
other side i use this kind of material
for um cleaning flame sensors you don't want to use
sand sandpaper because it'll leave grooves
and it'll fail a lot faster some tubing cutters
down in the bottom there you can't
really see here some zip ties
and well first of all out here
on the outside i have i think this is seven sixteenths
and um three eighths am i right
7 16ths and 3 8ths
and i also have quarter
and 5 16ths in here i
also keep a phillips in there
and one of these i have um nothing in that one
let me see if it's in this one and one of these
i have a um here we go three amp breaker
that i can use to um in place of a fuse while i'm
troubleshooting low voltage
and on the inside over here i have
more this right here help keep me
going through today sometimes i need
that i think i've breathed too much phosphine on this side i
have this is the five in one i have
found that this diameter phillips
and the flat head on the
other side is perfect for knocking holes
to put set screws for thermostats that's that's the main
reason i keep this in my bag
and this is just a flathead screwdriver that's completely insulated
to help keep me from shocking myself if i'm
working in a panel and of course my meter um
this may be replaced one day
but there are many reasons why i use this one the biggest thing i
don't like about it is the size this thing
is rather large compared to other meters but it
has capabilities that most don't temperature
probes air temperature probes pipe temperature
clamps down in there another tubing cutter i
think i rigged this up so i could use it with
my suction probe i have
a low loss fitting on my high side probe
um but basically that's all i keep
in the bag that i normally take inside a house now
if i need more i'll either come back to the
van and just get it now in here
or so this is the bag that i leave on the van more pipe clamp
um temperature probes just different name brands i like
to keep this because i can measure velocity
inside the duct really fast and that's a 405i
but um it's the tools on the other side that i took
out of my much larger bag that are in here
um you need these crescent wrenches you need them
very frequently i use this once in a while i have
locking pliers forgive me i was getting a phone call
allen wrenches this is a recent buy
for me this is a crescent wrench
and if you look at the tip
of it it allows you to put a backup wrench
when you're trying to tighten down like a flare nut
that's on a pipe without breaking
the connection you can probably make one of those fairly easily
and these are backup tools this is what i used
to use in fact i've used this for well over 15 years
and i replaced it with this this is just a nicer tool more heavy duty
and i just liked it a lot
better but i had used this i can't even tell you how long i've
been using this exact same
kind i've lost several of them and replaced them
but um that's a good wire stripper and crimper
needle nose and i have used these a little bit
this is another crimper cutter and wire stripper
these are very nice to keep in a bag as well i
also have more nut drivers another flat head
but these are just tools like i said that i keep in here
because they were in my bigger bag and
and my bigger bag was just getting super heavy
and this is the um nut driver set that i use
but you'll find that you still need
and i have long forgotten what size this is there's one size
you need when you're changing motors i think
that's 11 30 seconds that is not included on this
so that's why you see i have an extra nut driver
that good that um tightens the nuts on the back
of the motors like condenser fan motors that we install
but anyway that's what i keep in my bag
i think in here something i did
not cover was what's in here
these are my my roach clips and
this is the half inch drill bit that i keep
in here i seem to have lost my other tiny little
probe but um i do keep it a light bag i do that on purpose
because i don't want to carry too much
i'm still probably going to be carrying a drill
and a light but that's what i keep i hope um
you like this video if you do like hit the like button

Veto Tech MCT bag thanks for watching
