Check out these lovebirds, bird with a Y is the couple's last name,
fitting as they tie the knot
while tailgating at the link before the Eagles-Cowboys game.
Even Jason Kelsey was there.
Their ceremony was everything you would expect
and more for two people celebrating their love for each other
and their team in a parking lot outside the link.
Our Joanne Pelleggi was there for it all.
Couldn't get any better
or more Philly-centric than this.
Jason Kelsey tossing beers from a cooler
on the green carpet preceding the bride
and groom as they walk to the altar
at a Philadelphia Eagles tailgate introducing
the birds with a Y it's just iconic like
I don't think very many people will get
married at the link
and here we are on this perfect day we had gotten engaged
and this giveaway kind of came about
on Instagram we ended up seeing it and I
I was like, Brandon, this is so us. We have to just try.
So they did enter the contest and found out just two weeks ago
they'd be tying the knot at this one-of-a-kind,
all-expenses-paid Eagles tailgate.
We had comedy, we had a lot of former players, great food and drinks,
and a beautiful couple getting married today
in a tailgate in a parking lot.
Was this your first time officiating a wedding?
Actually, no, believe it or not.
But it was my first time officiating a garage beer wedding
in a tailgate before an Eagles game.
So, first time for everything.
With a beautiful buffet of tailgate food and lots of garage beer,
and Jason Kelsey and other Eagles standouts hanging out
with the couple and crowd,
Brandon and Lindsey's friends
and relatives were all in for the unique experience.
We kind of let everything be a surprise.
Garage beer was like, do you guys want to know?
And we're like, no, we want to come in and just experience
the day the same as everyone else.
a little champagne well no we're garage beer
you don't need champagne yeah it's all right
it's more high class anyway on tap for the music the philly pops
and a stand-in conductor shane
victorino i've been to lots of different tailgates
but never a wedding at the tailgate this is my
first well this one was quite the success it was the first
and i have a feeling it won't be the
last. Congratulations to the Byrds, B-Y-R-D-S,
Lindsey and Brandon, and we hope you move from
Chicago to Philly. At The Link, I'm Joanne Pelleggi, Fox 29 News.
