The campaign trail is covered with political
and pop stars as the midterm elections are now
just one week away, and it's all part of one final push
to win over voters. Fox's Pete Cudahy
is in Dayton, Ohio, where singer John Legend just rallied
with the Democratic ticket. I know you're
going to cover both sides, Pete,
but what was that rally like since it was the most recent one?
Hey, Alex. Well, as you can probably imagine,
there was a ton of excitement. Hundreds of people
gathered to see John Legend, and while it wasn't a concert,
he didn't sing. It sure felt like it.
The crowd was very, very rowdy.
Now, this wasn't the first time that John Legend has appeared on
the campaign trail. He's actually
been on the campaign trail dating back to 2008, when President
Barack Obama first campaigned.
Now, Legend is an Ohio native, and he voiced his support for both
Sherrod Brown and Amy Acton,
and he gave a speech saying that working class families
in Ohio, they deserve better from Washington.
Too many people are working harder than ever
and still struggling to get ahead, still struggling
to stay afloat.
Groceries cost more, housing costs more,
parents are, like my father said, robbing Peter to
pay Paul.
Vote early, then go get somebody, somebody who trusts you,
your cousin, the man you work beside,
the woman at church who tells you she's not really into politics.
Call her, drive her,
help her make a plan to get to the polls.
And up until this morning, Ohio was considered
one of the Senate races that was a toss-up.
Democrats hope that the legend's endorsement
will help push them over the edge in the state.
But he's not the only celebrity to hit the campaign
trail in the Buckeye State.
Former NFL coach John Gruden and social media influencer-turned-boxer
Jake Paul rallied with incumbent GOP Senator John Husted
and gubernatorial candidate Vivek
Ramaswamy. As well, in another state,
you had Nicki Minaj, who came out in Michigan
to rally with President Trump in hopes of getting out more voters.
Michigan, God bless you.
We really need all of these great people to be elected
because this is a major turning point for our country.
And when you're in major states like Michigan,
we need this to be a leader in the movement that's happening right now.
We need this place to lead in the movement, right?
And celebrities have been popping up all across battleground states.
Recently, we saw Eva Longoria in Texas campaigning
with James Tallarico for Senate.
We also saw country singer Jason Aldean
in your state of Georgia with President Trump.
And the big question right now is with just seven days until
the election, how much of a difference
are these celebrity endorsements going to make?
Back to you.
And that's a question that we'll just have
to wait to receive an answer for.
Thank you.
