It's Never Been More Clear
Oct 27, 2026
It's never been more clear
as following yesterday's shocking loss to the Giants,
multiple members of Houston's organization
have made bold statements regarding this team.
What does this mean for Houston
and how do they rebuild following the rough start?
What's up, ladies and gentlemen?
Welcome back to Texans Digest. I'm your host, as always,
Isaac Estrada. Man, we got a lot we need
to talk about today. When talking to the media,
both Nick Casario and D'Amico Ryans had some bold statements
to say. We're going to dive
into all that, man, and also dissect the game just
a little bit more because Houston Texans
took a very rough loss this past Sunday.
But man, right before we dive into all that, right before
we dive into all that, about 90% of you guys still
not subscribed. So if you're not already
subscribed, do your boy a favor and hit
that subscribe button. You're going to be getting
daily updates here on Texans Digest.
But regardless, I appreciate you for tuning into this
video. So yesterday, man,
yesterday we did take the L to the Giants, 27 to 21. It was a rough
outing, man. It was a rough outing defensively,
especially against the run, man. We couldn't
stop a gust of wind. Against the run, we could not stop a gust of wind.
Camp Scataboo went from
having zero carries in last week's game
to this game having 17 carries for 124 yards and a
touchdown. And of course,
that 42-yard carry in overtime that set Devin Singletary up for his
carry that sealed the game.
Rush defense has been absolutely abysmal this season. I was one of the
defenders of the Houston Texans saying, hey,
this defense isn't as bad as people are making it seem.
This defense can still be top 10.
I'm starting to really sway the other way now. And I apologize
if I made it seem like Houston Texans defense were right there
because I genuinely thought they were, but they're not.
However, that is not what we're here to talk about today.
We're here to talk about the bold statements made by D'Amico,
Ryans, and Nick Casario.
So, let's dive into all that, starting off with Nick Casario.
Casario calls the Texans the worst tackling team in the NFL.
GM puts defensive fundamentals on blast.
So, let's dive right into it, man,
because when talking to the media today,
this is what Nick Casario had to say.
Nick Casario called the Texans the worst tackling team in the NFL
and says they give up way too many
explosive plays. He's absolutely right.
Immediately, we can see it in overtime. We can see it right off
the bat. Example A, overtime.
Cam Scadaboo, 42-yard carry, nothing around him. You see a bunch of red
highlighters chasing him and Cam Scadaboo's off for the distance, man.
I'm not sure why this defense
has fallen flat on its face.
We've made the excuses for them in the past. Obviously, D'Amico
the Ryans recently took over
for defensive play calling over the past few weeks.
It obviously has not made that big of a difference.
I don't know what's quite going on with this defense.
I'm going to be completely honest with you.
I don't understand what's going on.
Will Anderson Jr. has gone two weeks without a sack.
And of course, that's not anything insane to make an argument for.
But at the same time, it's like, what's really going on?
Obviously, Danielle Hunter got himself one.
But I don't know what's going on with this defense.
And because of that, I've been seeing
a lot of people tell me the same thing.
they don't know what's going on with the defense
and the blame's been put on D'Amico Ryans the
blame has been put on D'Amico Ryans
and that's what we're going to dive into next so let's dive
right into it D'Amico Ryans Texans morals are not great amid skid
or morale excuse me so D'Amico
Ryans again when talking to the media today had
this to say D'Amico Ryans said he hopes that the
team has the mindset to get back on track
and that the team's morale is not great of course it's not
great you start off two and five to the season
on a season that was supposed to we had the number
one ranked defense coming into the NFL this season.
That, on top of the fact that we had
Super Bowl aspirations, C.J. Stroud came
into a year where he's saying, hey, I'm going to prove
myself, and I'm going to prove that I'm worth $60-$70 million a year.
This season, 2-5 start.
D'Amico Ryans took over defensive play calling
because the defense was that bad. C.J. Stroud
has had a lot of criticism despite his hot start.
This is the first game where we kind of saw C.J.
Stroud really look a little bit rough.
He really looked a little bit rough in this game. You can
make the argument against Indianapolis I understand that one too
but a lot of people are criticizing
CJ as well I don't think that's his fault obviously Nick Haley deserves
a handful of the blame as well
we've seen that offensive playbook
when he closes up CJ Stroud struggles so it is no issue to me I
don't understand why that's shocking to some people
that hey why are the why are the Houston
Texans faltering so much it's
or no excuse me I can understand why it's so shocking for people
to understand that because we were expected to be one
of the best teams man and now falling flat on
our faces, something I'm going to ask you guys right now.
What is the biggest issue for the
Houston Texans right now? I got to leave it up to you guys.
You guys know. I got to leave it up to
you. Offense, or is it defense, or is it the coaching?
Because which one of these three are
the three biggest problems? Because a lot
of what I'm seeing is the coaching. A lot of what I'm
seeing is the coaching staff.
I don't think D'Amico Ryans is going to get fired after this season. I
know a lot of people are saying, time to get rid of D'Amico.
I don't think he should get fired.
After all that he's done for this team,
bringing this team out of the dumps, I think that one bad
season you let it slide flame me all you want in my opinion
and I still think this team can do
something great this season is starting to more
and more not look like it JJ McCarthy came into
his first game and I was one of the ones you guys can take
a look back at my videos you can see the
receipts I said hey this defense is gonna feast
on JJ McCarthy they're gonna decimate JJ we didn't
see any of that the guy on the right
of your screen right here couldn't get a sack obviously
Daniel Hunter got one but outside
of that man defense defensive run game Caden McDonald didn't
look that great as well. That's why we have him
is to go against the run. He didn't look hot as
well. Something we're going to talk about right before we dive
into the last quote by Nick Casario
regarding team changes is Woody Marks.
I've had some people in the last video talk about me and
say, hey, you're absolutely wrong about Woody Marks.
Woody Marks, it's the offensive line.
That offensive line is terrible. I understand that.
What sets great running backs away from
this league, what sets away the Derrick Henrys,
the Christian McCaffreys, those guys at the top
top of the NFL. What sets those guys apart?
Kenneth Walker, obviously excluding his last
game this past night. What sets them apart
is despite their offensive line, if they're playing
good or great, they're still able to make plays.
We did not see that with Woody Marks. If you guys
remember, 19 carries for 66 yards.
He had that 11 yard pop in the fourth quarter. Other than that,
nothing much. Something I'm going to bring up to you guys.
Woody Marks, he's a good running back.
I want to preface that. Woody Marks is a good running back.
I don't think he's a bad running
back I just whenever people on this team say hey he's
that starting running back he's the guy of
the future he's the guy who we can depend
on for the next three to five years I don't see that at
all I'm not seeing that he's a good solid running back he's
a good first and second down back but I
don't think he's that RB1 that can be top 10
with a good offensive line I'm sorry I just I'm not I
just don't see it with Woody Marks
and again he's a great player I'm so glad to have Woody Marks on
this team if he wasn't on this team running wise we'd be screwed
but that being said a lot of
people have been saying that, hey, Woody Marks is the guy.
I don't see it, and if we're going to
blame the offensive line, I think a little bit of blame
also has to go on Woody Marks. Let's recall
it. Third quarter, third and one, Woody Marks up the middle,
couldn't get anything. Next play was
fourth and one. We had to rely on C.J. Stroud on a run play,
on a scramble to get one yard and get
the fourth down conversion.
That's what we're having to rely on because there's a lot of times
where I'm looking at Woody Marks, and I see the gaps,
and he's not taking them. That's just me
personally, though. I know a lot of people are going
to say, you clearly don't watch the games.
that is just what I'm seeing from Woody Marks
so I'm not going to beat up Woody Marks too much but
when people say he's the general he's
this next running back I think hey keep him around he's a
great solid running back a young guy could
definitely learn underneath him go draft a
running back in the future in the next in the next
in the next upcoming draft go draft him in the
third fourth round David Montgomery we can all
agree he's clearly outside of that week one
performance with the three touchdowns he's clearly hasn't done much
this season Jawan Jordan was
great. However, immediately gets placed on IR.
I wouldn't depend on him too much to be the
generational running back.
But either way, man, we're going to dive into the next thing because
Nick Casario was not done.
Casario signals no major roster moves until next season.
So we talked
a lot about what needs to change, what needs to happen.
Casario saying nothing. And that's a little
bit disappointing as Houston Texans fans.
We'll bring it up right here. Nick Casario closes the
door on an outside help until the offseason.
You put together the team you feel makes the most
sense. Once the season starts,
you figure out who plays more than less. We're not going to see
significant change with personnel until the offseason.
I get it. I get it. This is the team
headed into this year. This is the team that we're like,
hey, this is our ride or die. This is the
team we're going to stay with. C.J. Stroud under center.
We beefed up that offensive line.
Woody Marks looked like he was going to take
that next step. David Montgomery was going to help him
out. Defense was number one in the league.
We weren't worried about them at all. Right now,
they're looking at they're looking like
a bottom 10 defense in the league all those things mixed
together he's saying right now we're not going
to expect any changes I think some changes need to be
made and I'm not sure what it is I'm not sure
if it's trading some people out if it's looking at
some coaching adjustments I'm not sure what it
is but something has to change man something has to
change with this team headed into the bye week I'm not the kind of guy
who likes to dog on it too
much but I just don't see it when he says hey
nothing's gonna change this is the team we want
moving forward. I'm not seeing it, man.
I'm not seeing it at all. So something big has to happen
with the Houston Texans because having a game like
this where your defense gets shut out by a
J.J. McCarthy-led New York Giants,
that is not at all what we need to be seeing. Offense started
off rough in the first quarter. They slowly started
to get it going. Couldn't get anything
going in the fourth. The offensive line didn't look great at all.
Cam Scadaboo with a 42-yard
rush followed by the Devin Singletary rush for the end zone.
That's game. And I've seen a lot
of people say it. I've seen a lot of Houston Texans channels say it,
and I'm going to agree
with them. I'm going to say something,
and I'm going to agree with them. I don't think the Houston
Texans deserve to win this game with how bad
the defense played. At the end of the game, it's not
like you can blame anybody else except yourselves.
You can't blame anybody else for having, what was
it? It was over a dozen penalties in the game.
Correct me if I'm wrong, Chad. I want to say 14
penalties in this game. Undisciplined.
Completely undisciplined. That's what I'm talking about.
so it's going to come down to some major changes needed
to be made Caserio says hey no changes are
going to be made for the rest of the season
so we will see what the Houston Texans decide to do
either way this team needs
a major change next game you're going against the 0-6 Chargers you
lose that game season's over I'm going
to just say it right now you lose that game and the season's
over but only time is going to tell
as always let me know what you guys think in the comments
let me know if you guys think Houston Texans can
do anything this season I've been seeing some
people say hey we're not going to make the playoffs
but let's play a little bit of spoiler
so let me know what you guys think in the comments have
a great day have a blessed day i will see you
guys tomorrow
