Chicago Bulls Talk | Is Caleb Wilson the Star They've Been Missing ?

And I'm not talking about a star in the making, because I truly think that when you talk about star players, you have to talk about them in the manner of everything that encompasses that conversation you have to talk about it in the uh play on the court of course but you also have to talk about it in the sense of okay well how is he approaching the game how is he calling his teammates out how is he accepting accountability how is he accepting the coaching what is he doing when his team needs him the most and ladies and gentlemen i am willing to say it here i guarantee you four games in three games in i am the first person to say this but caleb wilson is a star caleb wilson is exactly what you are looking for in a player this early on in the season and because of that gotta give a shout out to our guys over at Kalshi where you can trade 25 get 25 added to your account instantly when you use that promo code breeze I would put $25 on the Chicago Bulls tonight where you can see that pay out $157.26 because there is not a lot of belief that the Bulls are going to beat the Boston Celtics but I don't need the Chicago Bulls to beat the Boston Celtics I just need them to make this game competitive I think that Caleb Wilson can do that and you will see that market share start to climb and of course you're going to cash out before you get to the point where it gets to the end of the game and the bulls probably lose another tough game another hard-fought game make sure to tap in with Koushi use that promo code Breeze big shout out to them for being supporters of this show but no when you look at this young man and what we saw from him over the weekend i thought that you saw on a pretty consistent basis a player who came out hot came out aggressive tried to go out there and actually make an impact early on love it from the start you're shooting the ball you understand that the offense is going through you you're hooping but then you saw defenses adjust to him especially that Washington Wizards game in the third quarter they couldn't hit a shot they were closing out on Caleb a lot tougher they were closing off lanes they were forcing things to be difficult for him and then You saw, I think, in that fourth quarter, a player who, while he still didn't shoot at a great clip, realized, hey, this game rests on me. Knocks down a couple of threes, puts you back in a position where you can win the game, has a couple of really good defensive possessions that gets you close. I believe it was a 118-115 game at one point. Unfortunately, you do end up losing the game. But with what you've seen out of this young man through three games to this point, he has had a 16-4 game to start the season, 7-21 shooting. He had a 21-6 game in that second game of the season versus the Bucks, 7-14 shooting. He had a 30-14 game. He was 10-24. But as the shot was not falling, he found his way to the free throw line. That is how you talk about star players. And you can see the natural progression of things. I know there's a lot of people that look at it and say, this is tough. I think it's going to be a very back and for that type of season in this regard. But you kind of just saw Modest fall into a position of comfort with being the number two. I thought that you saw Modest play his best game versus the Washington Wizards. Everybody was terrible in the third quarter. Everybody was horrible in the third quarter. You had a young player. i thought not by him doing anything wrong not by him calling anybody out not by him cussing people out you kind of just saw everybody else fall into place with you saw Josh Giddey go yep i'm the facilitator you saw Matas Buzelis go hey i'm here for you when the shot's not falling down you saw Norman Powell get into a spot space where he was like yep i'm just here to shoot i'm playing off of you whatever move you make we're playing off and i love that because that's what happens when you see the alpha dog walk into the room that's what happens when you see that that guy that you go he's the best player on the floor there doesn't have to be an aggressive conversation there doesn't have to be a forcing of it i think you saw this with the Denver Nuggets when Jokic got over there they didn't expect Jokic well maybe the nuggets did but like as they sat there and watched him i think Mike Miller uh was the one who told like one of the best stories about it he's like that fat kid you got over there is the best player that you have on your team he saw it instantly he didn't have to sit there and go let me compete against them one-on-one and see if i'm gonna be oh when you see that level of talent you just lock in and i think that is what we saw start to happen in that wizards game as they take on the milwaukee i'm sorry the boston celtics here uh coming up i think that you're going to continue to see that kind of be how this offense goes and i love the fact that tiago splitter is not shying away from that that's what happens when you have a star tiago probably saw it in summer league you get to preseason you still see some of those traits now you're here in the regular season three games in caleb wilson right now 22.3 points per game eight rebounds per game 1.3 assists he is shooting 40 from the field you want to see those shooting percentages get better but i think that that comes with time i think that that is the part for me that i am the least worried about because i said it's going to take him 25 games for him to get into a rhythm where he's finding his shots easily, where he's getting to his spots easier. We're still in, we're three games in. There's still a lot of learning that he has to do. There's still a lot of NBA that he hasn't seen. I think this, uh, this upcoming game versus Boston is going to be his toughest test because he hasn't seen a defense that can go out there and get after you the way that Boston can. And so you want to see how he's going to adjust to that I wouldn't be surprised if he only puts up 14 points tonight but man when you start to see the consistency from his game you are going to undoubtedly feel that he is one of those elite players and listen like I think that this is one of those drafts that so many people you know at certain points wanted a different name out there there's not a name that you could have felt bad about like I'll tell you what Cam Boozer's only shooting 30% from the field right now but Cam Boozer has looked good early on 16 points per game 11 rebounds at this point five assists only shooting 30% from the field elite from the free throw line to this point in the season he's getting fouled a ton surprised we didn't get to see AJ Devanza early on but he has been uh pretty much listed out early in this season completely Darren Peterson has looked solid to start the season and then Darius Acuff has been I'd call a cup he's been chucking it Darius Acuff has been chucking it I mean Steve-O brings up Yaxel Lindenberg I like Yaxel I think that Yaxel plays a heck of a game and I love his mindset I love his mentality I love that people are like yeah but he's an older rookie he's only going to play 10 years do you know how long 10 years is brother do you know how long 10 years is you know how much you can win with a player in 10 years bro like what are we talking about better keep building but now early on in this season whether we think that he's going to be a superstar or not I think that the potential is definitely there but I'd mark it down man the Bulls got a player who knows who he is who knows what he wants to accomplish the biggest thing that I've always loved about this young man is he understands the connection that he has and i think he's chasing it in some regard right i think he was chasing it and that's why you saw some of the shots that you saw from uh caleb wilson when that game was pretty much over at that point at the you know when it got ugly there uh he he wanted that 37 that mike had i think that there's a conversation for that as well where he had scored 16 he had scored 24 if he had scored 37 he would have matched michael uh completely in his first three games of his career i think he was chasing that fell a little bit short but isn't that what you're hoping for from a young player hey if you shoot for the moon you'll land somewhere in the stars feels like you're gonna land within the stars with caleb wilson here early on let me know you guys thoughts on young caleb wilson do you think that he is a star player uh and the chicago bulls finally got one do you think that there's a lot more that you need to see from him to confirm that he is a star for me listen you call it a hot take call it a early take call it you know you're you're too early in the process for me it's not just what you do on the floor it's what you do with everything around you and not to say this in a in a demeaning way to anybody else but it truly feels like everyone else fell into place as Caleb Wilson continues to get better again let me know how you guys feel down in the comments below hit that like button subscribe to the page leave a five-star review y'all know what to do hey man i'm gonna i'm gonna get i had a stroke right there that was crazy i'm gonna get up out of here appreciate y'all for tuning in and showing love we'll have more content coming your way as the day goes on of course keeping you guys updated on anything Chicago Bears and or Bulls related World Series back again tonight did y'all see that mess with the uh the Atlanta Dream not knowing when or where they're gonna play the game six of the Finals it's getting crazy over there insane worlds y'all stay safe out there chicago better well see you peace
