Learn English naturally while you watch me build a table, with slow, clear speaking practice for A2-B1 learners. 🔨
You don’t need to sit down and study. Just relax, watch what I’m doing, and listen to real, everyday English as I talk to you. I’ll explain things as I go, so you can understand through context, not translation.
Along the way, you’ll hear natural examples of SO vs SUCH, the kind of English you’d actually use when something is big, heavy, frustrating, or surprising. For example: “This table is SO heavy” and “This is SUCH a big table.”
🎧 What you’ll practice: • Natural, slow English for A2-B1 listening • SO vs SUCH in real sentences • DIY and furniture vocabulary (tabletop, legs, screws, bolts, instructions, assemble, tighten) • Everyday phrases for when things don’t go as planned • Understanding English without pausing to translate

Learn English while you help me build my table.
So I bought this table on a WhatsApp group chat
and it was so cheap, 10,000 pesos.
That's like, that's like $500.
So it's a very cheap table and the quality of this table is insane.
So the quality is like how good, how sturdy,
like listen, I don't even want to hit it.
It's so hard.
my fist but this is a sturdy table it's huge
and it is so heavy this table was not easy to get
inside of my apartment not easy at all let me show you guys
the quality of this of this bad boy so
guys this let me show you guys the size of this table
so the length is 220 centimeters the width
is 100 centimeters so that's two meters long
and one meter wide it's a very big table and it's also
very heavy like i was saying it was just me
and this other guy just us alone carrying this all
the way up to my apartment. And I live on the fourth floor.
So that's one, two, three, four
flights of stairs.
It was difficult, but we did it.
I kind of regret. So I regret going to the gym
yesterday.
Yesterday before picking up
this table, I went to the gym.
I regret going to the gym
before picking this table up because it
was such a workout. It was such a hard workout.
so I could say my workout was so hard
so you can only use before an adjective or
adverb such on the other hand I would have
to say an adjective plus a noun for
example I had such a hard workout hard
or difficult let's use difficult instead
I had such a difficult workout difficult is the adjective because it's
It's describing the noun, the workout.
My workout was so hard or I had such a hard workout.
It just depends on how you want to use them.
But anyway, taking this table up
to the fourth floor was such a difficult task.
So this table was 10,000 pesos.
That's like $500.
Very cheap, I think.
I've been looking at Walmart and Ikea
and lots of other stores online and a table like this
is at least a thousand dollars at least.
So this was a good deal. Good deals we can find them
on Black Friday, on Prime Day,
different days that they have really good deals because they have like
sales dates. This table has to be,
it has to be at least, I'm 60 kilos.
This has to be like at
least 150 kilos. This thing is heavy.
On top of bringing up this table, we had to bring up each
of these stands. So these stands go under the table.
There's two of them. There's one over
there even these things are heavy and then we have all
the tools that we need in here so like
the screws oh look here we go i'll show you guys
so here we have like a set of screws and
i believe this is a wrench if i'm wrong i don't
know much about i don't know much i don't know
many names for tools. Sorry.
I'm pretty sure this is like a wrench.
Yeah. All right. Let's build this
table together. Oh, and we have six chairs.
These chairs are beautiful too. Look, these ones are
light. These ones are not heavy. Okay.
So how are we going to do this? You know, I have to do so
much alone because I live alone
so like a lot of the things that I have in this house I had
I had to like set up by myself so my tv my couch
well I guess my couch but like my tv my desk
my washing machine my refrigerator like you know just take them out
of the box and set them up
My water filter, but yeah my TV that I'm very proud
of getting that out of the box alone
Was very hard to
Because like you're all by yourself, and you don't want
to like break the TV or scratch it and the same with this one
So we were trying so hard not to scratch it scratch it on the floor
or on like the railing
And that's why it was so heavy
Also, look I got these new little baskets from my house.
Aren't they cute? I got these on Amazon
I'll link it in the description,
but this is where I keep like the stuff for knitting like my yarn and
The stuff I'm knitting. So yeah
Okay, let's build this table
We'll see if I can actually build it because I might need help
But if I can do this alone,
then you guys are doing it with me.
Okay, I got some water. Let's do this
I want you guys to get a full view of what I'm doing
is this. I want you to see how difficult this is.
I wish you guys could help me. If some of
you guys could come through the screen
and help me right now, that'd be so nice.
I'm gonna try and flip this table on its back.
Okay, ready? Here we go.
We did it. Okay, so let's try
and put on one of these first.
One of these. Pretty sure either one can go.
Okay, I saw the picture, insert picture here.
And I believe this part has to go on this side.
So like this.
All right, I'm thinking it's like this.
And then that one goes the opposite way.
So first, let me explain what I'm doing in English.
So basically right now what I'm doing,
I'm aligning the legs
of the table with the tape.
And here we have our screws.
And we just put these one.
I'm pretty sure it doesn't really matter
which one is which.
use a little wrench. I think that's what it's called.
Nacho correct me if I'm
wrong. That's screwed in.
Next one. Last one.
It's like if I'm gonna do this alone
I might as well record it.
Last one on this side.
I think it's all set. Let's do the
other one.
We align and perfect.
One by one.
This is actually
pretty easy. I kind
of expected this to be a lot harder.
So guys let me tell you about my day a
a little bit so today i woke up early 8 a.m
which is early for me well lately i've been trying to
sleep more because i've been like sick
and recuperating so i woke up pretty early for me
8 30 and i went to spinning class really fun i've
been really enjoying spinning classes
i feel like they're just such a nice way to like start
your mornings like and i used to go at like
7 a.m so I'd wake up at 6
and then just you just get an amazing start to your day like exercising
first thing in the morning for me I prefer it like um I have friends
who who all exercise in
the afternoon and like they prefer exercising
in the afternoon for them it's just better they don't
like waking up early because they have to work
and they don't want to wake up at 6 a.m and stuff
like that so like I understand
but then at the same time like waking up in the morning and right
away working out is so nice it's just an amazing way to start your day
and like i do have more
energy in the afternoon like in the afternoon i'm ready
to to go work out because i've eaten all day
and like usually when i go to spinning after six i'll like
do really good so much better than the
mornings because in the mornings i haven't had
breakfast i'm sleepy i didn't stretch like but
at the same time like if you do it in the morning
then after that you just feel amazing for the rest
of the day and I love feeling amazing during the day
so yeah I just went to my spinning class and
then I worked at a coffee shop
and I had like this salmon bread I'll show I'll show you guys
a picture here I had this salmon bread that was so good
and a smoothie that was amazing too
I met these two really nice girls
and we just had breakfast together and then I worked and I worked
on my computer for the whole afternoon
and then I thought oh I have to build my table so maybe I
can do that with you guys and that's why you're here
who knows if you guys will like this video
but if not i'm sure some of you will anyway like
at least one of you will have enjoyed this video
so i'm glad i did it okay let's shake it it's
good i think it's good let's give it one last
tightening just to be sure
but yeah tell me what do you guys prefer do you like working out in the
morning or in the afternoon and tell me why.
Just a thought. Okay I'll tighten up. Now let's turn
this baby around. Amazing tripod guys.
I'll leave this in the description too because this tripod is
so good. Like it's helped me.
It's helped me record so many like different types of videos
like cooking videos and vlogs.
It's just like just perfect.
I might have to wait for my boyfriend to
come over to help me with this because it's going to be hard.
But let's see if we can. It's the power
of all of my slow English podcast viewers.
You guys are giving me power right now. I don't know
how I'm going to do this. Dude, this is so hard.
This is so heavy, guys. You have no idea. Like
maybe a blanket? Flip it over? But like, I don't know.
I think I can do it like this. I have to be able
to do it like this it's like it's
not even that heavy come
on yeah i mean if it was already heavy
like this is crazy oh i really want
to do this though i really want to get this done
not strong enough
but i'll show you guys once i have it flipped i'm gonna get help
and i'll show you guys the final result a full picture
and yeah that's it okay
Whoa am I going to be in your video baby?
Hide me! Hide me! As long as it doesn't see
my face and I'll be mysterious.
And this is the result. Look how beautiful!
It really ties the whole house together.
Look at that.
Like before that whole space was just empty.
Look at this. So pretty. So sturdy.
Yeah, so it's hard to get a good view of the whole table.
This is the end result.
Thank you guys for helping me build my table today.
And I hope you learned a new word in English.
