MiAsia Symone on the latest entertainment headlines

You've always wanted this to happen at some point. It was something that I asked him about, actually, at the time when we first started this. And he said, yeah, we'll see. Let's see what happens. But it was clear he wanted to do it. And we've talked about it a couple times. I think the fact that he's in his 30th anniversary year of his first album, he just finished his tour. It's L.A. He's at that point as the GOAT that he's ready for it. Everyone's talking about the 2027 Super Bowl halftime show and Beyonce's hair care line Sacred is apparently won over people who just can't stand her. So let's check out these trending stories with entertainment contributor Myasia Simone. Good morning, Myasia. Good to have you with us. Good morning, Alex. I always catch you on a hot day. I know this is one of my favorite days of the week. Don't ask me why, but let's start off with this. People always have thoughts on who's set to perform at the Super Bowl so let's hear the good the bad and everything in between about Jay-Z taking the stage on Valentine's Day, well you know a lot of people are upset because they're saying as a coordinator they don't feel like he should have like picked himself to do it but uh to switch it, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is basically entering the chat and he's saying that it was going to happen eventually because you know in the beginning when he actually initially got hired for the job it is something that they actually wanted to do like from way back when, so he stated that, you know, he's actually excited and the timing is perfect. It couldn't be more perfect being that Jay-Z has celebrated 30 years since his debut album. You know, he just got off tour. He lives in LA and that's primarily where him and B live together. So he just feels like, you know, don't push it back anymore. The time is now. Interesting. So what I also thought was fascinating about this is a lot of us are thinking about this from our industry's perspective, right? Like you and I know in our industry, this would be a no-go. This would be considered a conflict of interest but maybe theirs is just completely different, you brought up a good point if in the negotiations for the position they said we want you to perform one day then you can't be mad at him for it and i mean he waited how many years, maybe eight to ten years before he decided to make that decision so i think he kind of gave you know other people a chance and you know that there were other celebrities who actually turned down you know to perform it so i think i mean i agree with it i'm not against it yeah yeah well hey have you tried Sacred hair products yet? Are you agreeing with those? I have not tried Sacred hair products yet but Beyonce is now expanding it's been two years since she announced her grand launch and um she previously mentioned that the reason why she was inspired to even start you know uh the line was because her mom used to work in hair salon back then well now in a recent interview she's admitting that you know in the beginning she had she had to condition the world's perspective on Beyonce launching the hairline because a lot of people had a lot of different you know opinions feedback and she left a message for the people in the back basically she quotes she says I'm the founder the visionary and the sole investor I'm not just the face or the model for this brand I had a vision to build something that solved real problems and performed so incredibly that people who can't stand my music still use my products and you know I think that's important because when you launch a business you got to put out the best products or services because you know your reputation supersedes you good or bad absolutely and i think let's just go ahead and address the elephant in the room here beyonce is known for having beautiful hair but also beautiful wigs and she's proof that just because someone wears a wig doesn't mean they don't also have hair that goes down their back so i think that that's got a lot of people thinking maybe it's the combination of healthy products plus you know protecting your hair that does the trick absolutely and i love the fact that she jumped out there she has eight sacred products and you know your name can only take you so far so i think that she's doing the right thing i'm gonna try them out finally and just to see and i'll let you know alex what i think okay sounds good i am curious about those edge drops that everybody's talking about so maybe i'll try them out myself well lastly here former nba star paul pierce is revealing he has some money troubles what's that about oh man so he went from making i think his entire career i maybe 200 million dollars and um basically i don't know if you remember but he had a viral departure from Fox Sports and so he claims that he just now received his last check i think august of this year and so the real question is why is this coming up now well the mother of one of his daughters is demanding more child support and he's claiming that he's tapped out he doesn't have the money he has all these expenses and she believes that he's hiding his real financial situation and she's like no i want a real audit so she's requesting an audit um he's saying that he has like over forty eight thousand dollars in bills per month and eight thousand dollars in child care five thousand dollars in groceries seven thousand dollars on eating out thirty two hundred dollars utilities and one thousand dollars in clothes matter of fact thirty five hundred dollars in entertainment so he listed all of his expenses i personally think you know spending seven thousand dollars on eating out that's one that could be cut back yeah i think a lot of these expenses cut back. But I don't know. He's just saying that he doesn't have the money. It's not coming in fast enough and that, you know, the mother of his child, she just needs to sit down and mind her business.
