BOB-O-WEEN: Chester County, PA

Hey, good morning everybody, we are live. Come on, we're going to go, we're going to show this right here. I've been talking about the deer. Look, at this giant deer just kind of walking through the neighborhood here this morning, we're out along Valley Green Road in Chester County, just getting here, we probably passed a dozen deer. You got the mama, the papa deer, the baby deer, they're out and this guy just just walked right out in the middle off the street as Scotty was tossing to us, so We passed the skunk. this segment should be sponsored by the zoo. We got all the animals here. It's like Jared's Ark in the news van. And Mother Nature out with us here this morning. Good morning to the deer, a deer, a doe, and me. Come on, let's go out to the Roosevelt Boulevard. It's Halloween, and we are out and about checking out all of the Halloween decorations. We came upon this house on Conestoga Road. Take a look at this. They have a walk-through and their entire property here, every section has a different theme. I'm going to strike up the band over here because this is, it's called the Reapers, all right? The kids are going to love this. And then over here, they have a little pond area. They got the pirate ship. I'm like, the Pirates of the Caribbean here. And then the pirates got the knife or the sword. and then I came upon this guy here. A talking parrot. All right, let's see. Do you like jelly donuts? A parrot that doesn't like jelly donuts. Halloween. We're having some fun in Chester County this morning. Scotty, come on. We need a good forecast so folks can get out checking out the lights and, of course, trick-or-treating on Saturday. Scotty, you're back here live. It's Bob-a-ween. I found a house here on Conestoga Road. This is their front lawn. Take a look at this. We're clowning around. But now you come this way, they have, when they see the lights on, they allow you to walk through their property. They got, you get greeted by the skeleton here. You got the giant skeleton and they love gardening because I can tell the whole property is all groomed here. But you know, I love dance parties, right? You ready? Check this out. To get to their front door they got a DJ dancing with all the ghosts Bob-a-ween come on Jason and Alice you're taking requests what do you want to hear it's the dance moves like wow Bob-a-ween oh i love it it's so cute it would be funny if the people in that house didn't even know Bob was there and they just they probably don't are they even awake where are they that is cool they're awake now They're awake now. They're awake now, yes. That is good stuff. I mean, I love when people get all into Halloween and they decorate the house and all that. My wife's kind of like that. We have spiders on our house and stuff. Well, we need to see these decorations. Bob, do a drive-by. I'll give you my address. That'll be awesome. Bob-a-ween. You know what we love to do. We've been driving around, showing off all of the great Halloween houses. I found this spot. This is famous here in Chester County. i'll have a uh just a coffee please because i am working uh they got the bar here it's like a walk-through i love this guy like going on to have uh Jim Carrey when it's the mouth opening he's got a cigar in his glass we're here on Conestoga Road just off of Valley Hill so if you come up Conestoga to the top at the traffic light when the lights are on they say you can park and take a walk through this is their Enchanted Garden we have the headless skeleton right here You get to go through the pumpkin arch. Our leprechaun, this guy looks a little rough. I don't know if he's going to make it to the St. Patrick's Day parade. We'll check with him later. And then they have the Enchanted Forest. Again, they love the gardens, and they give everybody a chance to kind of walk through everywhere you look. I love it because there's so much stuff here. Every section has a different theme. You know, you get some people to just throw so much stuff out on the front lawn. but everything's got a theme to it and it's great picture taking Instagram and all that good stuff oh here we go oh the witch is gonna give me an apple now the key is to do a walkthrough you got to have good weather Suby's on vacation Scotty's got the forecast in 15 seconds this is the witch's lair it's about the ninth year that they've been doing this check this out they have like a walk-through of all the animatronics. Okay. Come on. She looks scary. Yes. Okay. And they all talk and you pop up on them. We got the flying witch here. Where's this one? Oh, there we go. And then this one over here really looks creepy. She actually looks real. Doesn't she? I think she the old lady used to live in this house back in the day and then what does your future hold huh the crystal ball good weather for trick-or-treating i hope so hope they got some candy in a mailbox too when we get on out of here Chester County live all morning long what do you think guys pretty cool huh so cool this is still the same house right yeah same house it's like a walk through yeah i i just want to yeah take a look at their backyard i just want a piece of their time that they do all this yeah oh come here real quick come here i'm gonna show you this one real quick real quick the Wizard of Oz oh oh that's cute so do they just switch everything over and put like santa hats on everything you could do that when it's after after halloween like how do they do this wow and if you have that kind of decoration yeah You better be giving out the full bars, right, for trick-or-treaters. They're expecting big things. And if Bob has been out there that long, like, do they know he's in his yard? Are they going to come out? Where are the homeowners? We've been driving around in Chester County all morning long. We're at a property along, anybody in there? Conestoga Road, which is Route 401 and Valley Hill. This is like a walk through the entire property. They've been doing it for about nine years or so. As the sun begins to rise on the graveyard here, all right, they got some really a lot of animatronics you got to kind of go close and wave your arm and get them to rock and roll okay here we go let's see what these guys are oh look at this it cousin it from all right down here the bride of frankenstein we're getting married all right we got the carriage the skeletons over here all right all right okay and then gotta come over here business cool over here the gremlins i'm running but it's a walkthrough the gremlins in their backyard and again when you see the lights on they said it's open you can park your car and you can walk through Conestoga Road at Valley Hill Road here in Chester County, check it, look at this under the tree, hold on, everything talks, they said I was a little creep, we played a lot of party games, oh yeah, hide and go shriek, spin the bottle, all right so here's the deal, we're jumping in a news van, we're heading to Coatesville, you're gonna love this next spot all right, Bob Halloween, hold on, Jared, give him our, give him a Halloween thing back to you guys, even had the eyes with it, wow that was something, it's Bob Ween at a family run haunted house in Chester County so he's taking us on this live tour of this manor that's in Coatesville, yeah gang, good morning everybody, yeah when we were coming here, I thought I was going to go to like some old school farmhouse but we're actually in somebody's house, Joe, good morning, how are you? Good morning, I'm good. Ben Zialman, we've been doing it for five years, yeah, five years okay, we pulled into the cul-de-sac, we just came to the graveyard, we're now on the inside, this first thing, I guess, is right here, try me I actually live here and turn this into a full-time Halloween house Yeah, that's right. So the upstairs is just our normal house, and then in the basement it gets quite dark. We have a full haunted attraction. Come on, Jared. We voted you to go first. Yeah, you go first So tell me, how many nights a week do you do this? So we are open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We're not open on Halloween, but we have two days left where you can come see us. And we've got about 30 live actors ready for you. Yeah, you go first. There's our first one. This is Minerva. This one's better than the chair that they had straps around. getting my eyes checked here things have been a little a little blurry i think we'll have to carve them out what do you think a car oh well i'll come back for that let me make an appointment for next week joe how are you i'm good how you doing bob that's right we're here how old are you first of all i'm 17 17 man i love it so this is a walk-through attraction yeah we started inside your actual house yeah yeah this is a barn that you built on your property i just had my eyes check yeah how about the dental office all right yeah let's go get your teeth checked next right this way yeah tell me you're not reporting here we're just i got a doctor and a nurse waiting for you george you go first it might be a little bit so let me that you don't want to get crazy scary you can put on a glow stick correct that's correct so yeah so we we appeal to uh people of all ages we have the glow stick policy we do here so if you're a little bit You get that glow stick on, and you're good to go. Oh, what is going on here? The operating room. Yes, so this is a... Good thing I am a little late. Oh, got to clean the sink up a little bit here. Why are you still awake? So we have two days to enjoy the fun. Friday night, they are not going to be open on Saturday. George, right here. Oh, busy. Friday night, whatever happens. Yeah, so Friday we are open from 7 to 9 p.m. And then we're the same hours on Sunday night for our Extreme Blackout event. Extreme Blackout. So tell me about that. How does that work? So that, we're going to turn all the lights down, and it's going to be a more intense Oh, my God. This is our padded room. This is where the craziest members of the asylum hang out. Like the lunchroom at Fox. All right, come on here. What is this here? This looks like a failed experiment here at the asylum. this is slink what's his name this is slink oh hey slink yeah you don't wanna you don't want to encounter slink I will let's go around slink yeah that's a pass them on the right or the left whatever all the way out and there's the exit sign how long does it normally take to walk through of the event pull there so this is about a five to ten minute walk through it depends on how quickly you want to get out we made it out we made it out so there's the home Benzie Manor right there. His private home right here that your mom and dad allowed you to kind of convert into this Venziel Manor. You built this shed on the back. This is fantastic. Now what's the admission and tell me about the good part about the admission. So you get a $12 admission. You get to go through the cemetery, the hotel, and the asylum. All in all it's about a 20-minute experience and then a lot of the proceeds from this event benefit the Spirit of Children which works with New Moore's Children's Hospital and their Child Life Program. So So what we're doing here is not only bringing the spirit of Halloween to life, but it's also benefiting New Moore's Children's Hospital and their Child Life Program.
