I know I walked past here since morning,
and it was nice, calm, and cool and collected, you know?
So it's sad to hear this, what happened now.
Just after 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, Bridgeport police say they
responded to shots fired in the area of Reservoir and Alba Avenues.
Detective Jeffrey Holtz says officers found a 20-year-old man
on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
He was riding some type of vehicle when he was shot.
The man was transported
to St. Vincent's Medical Center for emergency surgery.
Holt says he's in critical condition.
We do have a vehicle description.
A be on the lookout has been put out to Bridgeport officers
and to officers and detectives in surrounding towns.
Police believe the vehicle involved in the drive-by shooting
may have been carjacked in the city earlier in the day.
It's the second reported shooting
on heavily traveled Reservoir Avenue in the last week.
Holt says officers are focusing hard on the area
and asking for help from the community.
Call 911, call our tips line, and tell us what you saw.
Hoping for arrests, that's our ultimate goal,
so that the people that were injured in these shootings
and their families receive justice
and that these dangerous persons are taken off the street.
I'm Justin DeVellis, News 12.
