Rescue crews are still searching the wreckage south
of Madrid where a high-speed train
slammed into a stop train. At least 68 people are dead.
All right, officials say an order from
Central Command after security system failed is to blame.
Fox News' Antoine Lewis joins us with
the latest tonight. Antoine. Steve and Natasha,
there were hundreds on board both those trains
concerned tonight that that death toll may climb even higher.
Let's show you an aerial view of the
aftermath. The collision happened in the central province of Toledo
and Spanish officials say that
at least 68 people were killed
and nearly 60 others injured this morning after a high-speed
train slammed into another train that was stopped on the tracks.
Now, this is video of rescue
workers searching the wreckage, looking for survivors,
as well as looking for bodies inside
the train cars. Both trains were carrying, again,
hundreds of passengers and heading south in the
same direction from Madrid to Seville.
Survivors describing the horrific moments after the crash.
Carriage two, carriage one, all gone, all smashed.
I think more than 50, 60 people died, spot.
Blood all over.
Everybody is impacted.
We're sitting on that four chairs, like you're facing each other,
and you have a table in between.
So that table also, I mean, got through,
I mean, got removed from where it was.
The lady that was just talking there had a scar on her chin,
and the audio dumped out,
but she was saying the table actually hit her in that area.
Spain's transport minister says that the collision was caused by an
error to the central control center and not the conductor's fault.
The International Red Cross is assisting with the search efforts.
