Now to an only on Fox report, a mother
of a 19 year old murder victim says justice was not served when
a judge gave her daughter's 25 year old killer only 10 years in prison.
Fox 26's Randy Wallace joining us now with that exclusive.
Randy, you know, Anthony Treasure Burton was celebrating her 19th
birthday here in Houston when she met 25 year old Ivan Livingston
and a friend of his Livingston ended up in Treasure's
car where he shot her in the heart. Treasure Burton didn't
know it but her 19th birthday would be her last
because of 25 year old Ivan Livingston she was in
the sunroof of the car
and Ivan shot her in the heart it
was a kill shot she died almost instantly
it went from assault to murder
to manslaughter 262nd Criminal District Court Judge Laurie
Chambers Gray would be the one deciding Livingston's fate.
I didn't feel like the judge even listened.
I saw her doing a lot of playing with her hair and
twirling in her seat, watching the computer,
and not really paying attention.
She never asked any questions. She never said anything.
He was caught in several lies,
several things that he couldn't explain
and yet she said that he showed remorse
and that's why she gave him the length of time
that he did after he killed my daughter and after
he was on bond for murder he went to the Galleria mall
with a loaded gun while supposedly intoxicated
Livingston faced a maximum sentence
of 20 years Grace sentenced him to 10 years with 19 months
served. I think it's horrible.
I think he purposely shot her for whatever reason,
for whatever anger he had felt that night.
And to get that short amount of time is insane.
It was murder. It was intent. It was murder.
This credit for time served Livingston could
be considered for parole in about three years.
Randy Wallace, Fox 26 News. Randy, thanks.
