Massachusetts election officials are urging voters
to stop mailing their ballots and consider
dropping them off instead.
22 News reporter Sarah Bien-Aimé shares how you can make sure
your vote counts. That's right.
The secretary of the Commonwealth's office recommended that
voters mail their ballots by Tuesday, October 27th.
And officials say yesterday was also the
last day to request a mail-in ballot.
So for those who still have their mail-in ballots at home,
officials now recommend them in person rather than risking
a mail delay. Voters can use an
authorized ballot drop box,
or return their ballots to their local election office.
In West Springfield, there have
been over 2,000 mail-in ballots returned and processed so far.
A voter still has their ballot,
meaning they've already requested it weeks ago,
and they have the physical ballot in hand.
They can still submit that through their local drop box
or through the mail to the clerk's office.
Voters can check their ballot status and find drop-off locations
on a portal through the Secretary's website.
We will have that link online at www.wlp.com.
Working for you, Sarah Bien-Aimé, 22 News.
