For the Atlanta Dream this afternoon,
the team is back at State Farm Arena for game six of the WNBA Finals
and a win could keep their championship hopes alive.
Even Atlanta's mayor is getting in on the excitement,
encouraging the entire city to cheer on the home team.
And Good Day's Kim Loeffler joins us live with more on the game six.
We're live outside State Farm Arena this morning.
Good morning to you, Kim.
Good morning.
Well, the Dream certainly know the importance of this game,
but they are hoping that a home crowd can help them force a game seven.
Now, the stakes certainly couldn't be higher
for the Atlanta Dream with their championship hopes on the line.
The team is preparing for a must-win game six against
the Golden State Valkyries.
And players say the key will be setting the tone early.
And the excitement isn't just inside the locker room.
Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens is calling
on the entire city to rally behind the Dream.
And for the Dream, there's certainly no question about what's at stake.
We're still in the same headspace,
but emphasizing it a little bit more and having everybody do it.
Obviously, just like bringing as much energy as you can.
Even just like defensive stops, blocks, they just tip it off their leg.
Like just making sure we get our momentum early.
We know we got to, it's win or go home.
So we know our backs are against the wall,
but we're very excited about getting back to who we are.
and, you know, executing the game plan.
And with the game tipping off in the middle of the work and school day,
the mayor is even asking businesses and teachers to give employees
and students a little slack to watch.
And tip-off is at 12.30 this afternoon.
Now, we're going to be heading inside
of State Farm a little later on this morning.
We'll show you all the preparations happening inside.
But for now, live outside of State Farm Arena,
Kim Loeffler for Good Day Atlanta.
All right, big day ahead.
All right, Ken, thank you for that.
