Boston study finds nearly 75% of deceased NFL players had CTE

A new study from Boston-based researchers estimates that nearly 75% of NFL players who died between 2008 and 2023 had chronic traumatic encephalopathy, a degenerative brain disease linked to repeated head trauma.

Researchers analyzed data from thousands of former NFL players and found evidence suggesting CTE remains a significant concern for current and former athletes.
