Father Time finally caught LeBron.
Oh, that was like a good block.
That was a good block.
He's lost in there with a block on LeBron.
Players couldn't miss from half court.
Here's the board.
That'll count for three.
From half court, Trey Jones delivers.
Jovich has a loose ball, a second left in the half.
He got it!
And Steph Curry went absolutely nuclear against Minnesota.
But we got a start in Indiana where we saw
the beginning of the end for LeBron.
Look at him trying to post up Larry Nance Jr who is a big guy himself.
James dribbles, spins around
and after realizing he can't move an inch forward, shoots an
awful brick from 15 feet.
Then he steals the ball, gets ahead of steam and throws down the…
This ain't no 2020, La Pops chooses to go for
the lefty layup but gets brutally denied.
And judging by the body language,
I think the guy actually apologized to Bron for blocking
him.
That was hilarious, but on this play,
Andrew Nembhard could have seriously hurt LeBron with
the simple in and out crossover and step back.
Here's another look of James stumbling
and fighting for dear life just to stay on his
feet.
Anyway, the Sixers took
a 10 point lead at the half
thanks to VJ Edgecombe.
Wow, that was well
beyond half court.
Playing without Halliburton in this one,
the Pacers needed everyone to step up in the second
half in order to hope for a comeback.
And boy
did
they
ever.
Pulled up and the defender was able
to recover and get back in on the play.
Naismith catching shoot from the corner.
Indiana executed an incredible 23-point turnaround
in the third period to go from
minus 10 to up by 13 heading into the fourth.
But then Philly turned to their OG duo of Maxi and Embiid.
Maxi pushing.
Tyrese end-to-end speed.
Ron surveying.
Uh oh,
he ain't doing
that silly
for no reason,
he must
have sensed
the comeback.
JoJo showed flashes of his old self,
putting his team up by 3 with his 21st point of the
night, but the crunch
time entirely
belonged to Maxi.
Tyrese exploded for 17 of his 27 points in the final stage,
securing the tough win with the back-to-back bombs at the end.
To be completely fair, LeBron had 10 dimes in this one,
so I'll give him that.
In Chicago, we had another roller-coaster
game between the Bulls and my Knicks,
who fell into a 19-point deficit in the third quarter,
mostly because of these guys.
Well, you crystallized it for me there as Wilson gets a block.
On Clarkson, and on the other end, he sets up Bruzelis.
That is an electric play from these young Chicago Bulls.
They want to be out on the break.
They got high flyers.
Just didn't go in the second on the cylinder.
Play that's been called.
From half-court, Dre Jones delivers,
and that matches the largest lead of the game for either side.
A four-point advantage for the Bulls.
Well, it was Josh Hart one night,
and it's Jones for the Bulls going into halftime.
Not the energy you wanted going into half.
Smith and a groove.
Now it is Powell.
Drills the three.
Norman Powell guided his young bulls with 30 points on 67% efficiency.
The Knicks were down and beat up.
Check this out.
We take a look at some of the major injuries just
in the past week or so in the NBA.
We saw that Jalen Suggs injury at MSG on Sunday.
Kawhi Leonard with knee swelling.
He's out indefinitely.
They're still working on a timeline for Tyrese Halliburton in Indiana.
Yeah, the entire league is riddled with injuries.
But don't ever underestimate the heart of the champions.
Underneath the basket with Ndobi at the 5,
runs in, drills a 3 over heel.
Schammett steps to the side, takes the 3, and he knocks it down.
Olek finds Schammett, the hot hand,
pulls off an offensive rebound for Hart.
Pollock for three.
Got it!
Bang, bang, Shamit
and Kolek capped off an electric 22-7 run to narrow the gap to just
4 points at the end of the 3rd.
And once they got there, they weren't gonna be denied.
Takes him to the rim and he throws it down.
Kolek was there defensively and Towns gets the rebound.
And Inouye puts it in and the Knicks take the lead.
Shamit got it for, look at that defense.
Clarkson, the steal, and the bucket.
JC gave us a huge boost off the bench scoring 12
of his 18 points in the 4th to put New
York up by 5.
The Bulls were hanging
around until Captain
Brunson took matters
into his own hands.
Jalen was smooth sailing last
night, cooking up people while
posting 38 points and 7 assists
on 6 of 10 from beyond the arc.
But the game is not over cause the Bulls have a Jalen of their own.
Knicks by 6, Smith puts the lead in half.
Smith cut it to three and things got serious
when Karl-Anthony Towns missed the bunny on the other
end, giving Chicago
a chance to tie the game.
Whew! Fortunately, Norm misses the three
and Brunson puts an end to the circus from the free throw line.
Hey, the Knicks opened last season
with a 2-3 record as well, so watch out.
And the entire league should watch out,
cause there's an alien on the loose.
Castle.
Inside, puts it up again, and Wembanyama, they can't stop him.
He sees three guys come at him, steps back, and hits a three.
I thought that one fly.
Victor gets it back.
Oh, my God.
Are you kidding me?
Wemby grabs his own rebound
and throws it down in reverse all in one motion.
He's a video game.
Victor carried the Spurs
who actually played from behind in this one, despite Utah missing
its main stars
Lowry and Triple J.
Wemby feeds Vassell
who puts the Spurs up
by 5 with 2 and a half
minutes left to play.
However, the Jazz led by Keontae George
who had 31 points in this one didn't want to raise the
To that offensive rebound.
This turned out to be the last
made bucket in regulation
as neither team was able to
get over the hump in the closing seconds.
So we go to overtime where the Spurs finally look dominant
on both ends of the court.
Fox almost got the steal, loose ball,
the Spurs do pick it up, Harper running, Dylan
Harper, fouled, and...
Took a hard fall into the stanchion.
Fox, the pass, Wemby takes the middie and hits it!
Victor Wembanyama in overtime, he's got 34.
Good decision there, don't try to take up any space,
just go ahead and take what the defense is giving you.
Two possession game, another turnover forced by the Spurs.
Fox, Castle, back to Fox, inside,
Victor waits and dunks it down, timeout Utah.
The alien was too powerful for the Jazz at the end,
finishing the game with 36 points,
14 rebounds, 3 steals
and 2 blocks on 56% shooting from the field. There's not too
many players who could top that, but luckily for the Warriors,
the old chef is still one of them.
This is going to be a fun game, man.
It already is.
These two teams met in the playoffs two years ago.
Curry with another three.
Once he sees one go in, look out.
A different type of game in mind.
Steph, another three.
So the Curry flurry continues.
Oh, Curry from St. Paul.
Just stop it. This is ridiculous.
Curry erupted for 19 points in the second quarter on 5 of 7
from downtown to get his team from 1 to up by 16 at the break.
On the other hand, the Wolves were
looking a bit lost without end,
especially Melo and Rudy who combined for only 9 points on a lousy
3 of 15 shooting from the field.
And TV cameras caught them arguing on the bench during a timeout.
Rough times are ahead for Minnesota until Edwards comes back.
Meanwhile,
Jaxson
Linderborg
joins Steph
on the
offensive end.
Jaxson punches the exclamation point
with the breakaway slam after the steal by Curry.
Dubs Nation finally have something to cheer about
as the rookie continues to impress.
Both him and Steph combined for a spectacular 70 points,
carrying the team to the win.
And speaking of that, after criticizing his own fans for booing,
Nikola Jokic had a team to carry himself.
Good recovery by Jamal Murray in a five-point lead,
and you can make it a seven-point lead.
Working on DeAndre Jordan. Fades away and connects.
Another tough finish from the Joker.
Joker.
Jokic curls. Good drop off to Brazil and he two-hand flushes it.
The joker didn't mess around in this one,
taking jobs seriously from start to finish.
21 points, 13 boards and 10 assists on 61% efficiency,
notching an elusive 200 triple-doubles for his career.
He needs just 10 more now
to surpass Russell Westbrook for first all-time.
And mind you, Russ did it in 18 years
while Nikola is playing his 12th season at the moment.
Needless to say, the Nuggets got the win.
And another former MVP got his long-awaited joy last night.
Four rebounds. Giannis on the pickup.
Giddy up, men. Fast break in. Hardaway on the dunk.
Overboard. Larson to the floor. Jovic has a loose ball.
A second left in the half. He got it. Does count.
Niko Jovic advancing in a hurry, being embraced by his teammates.
Two minutes.
Oh, that's such a great positive mob right there with Andrew Wiggins.
Giannis looking for a runway. Found it.
The Greek freak dunks on the entire state of Georgia,
bumping the lead to 8 points in the 4th.
After the disappointing 0-4 start to the season,
Giannis finally got the first win last night.
And yet again, he was the main guy with 24 points
and 18 rebounds on 61% shooting from the field.
Though the high-profile rookie A.J. DeBonsa
was super efficient in his NBA debut as well.
DeBonsa at the rim!
Off the 55-foot alley-oop, and Kenny Atkinson
wants to talk things over.
This new-look Wizards team in town
for the first time this season, as off we go here in Cleveland.
Just continually, every day, we've
got to move that basketball, make the defense move its feet
so we have opportunity.
A.J. was flying high for 19 points on 67% efficiency
and the Wizards seemingly had control
over the
game in
the third
quarter,
but then…
Evan Mobley scores 8 of his 24 points in a hurry
at the start of the 4th to put the Cavs
up by 5,
so in a situation like this,
it was evident who's
the more experienced team.
Peyton Watson played a big role in this one
as well with 22 points in 28 minutes as Cleveland
managed to pull away late in the game.
And we saw a similar scenario in Detroit where Brandon Miller
and the Hornets struck first.
Brandon's dunks in combination
with the Hornets' commentator
are pure gold.
They're both electric.
Charlotte almost took their 10-point lead to the locker rooms,
but Dennis Jenkins said, wait a second.
Uh-oh.
Oh my goodness.
That's a sharp stick to the eye.
Come on!
What is going on?
That's the 4th half time buzzer beater of the night!
Jenkins just announced the Pistons' avalanche in the 3rd.
And now the Hornets can't get a rebound!
Robinson, Thompson,
give the assist to Robinson.
Detroit turned things around
in the second half behind Cunningham's 30 points and 7
assists who knew how to finish off the Hornets.
Kate Cunningham,
doesn't shoot a lot of them.
And after the second loss of the season,
Coach Lee was brutally honest about their new acquisition.
We didn't see Naz Reid play in the second.
Can you tell us what went behind that decision?
Yeah, you know, unfortunately, you know,
Nas didn't meet our standards in the first half.
And at halftime, we made a decision
that he wouldn't play in the second half.
But I look forward to him meeting those standards come next game.
Damn, I've never heard someone say this out loud.
Luckily for Dallas, Cooper Flagg did meet his standards.
Wilt and Russell.
That's the company SGA is trying to join.
Here's Flagg for three.
Got it.
That's his second three.
The 9-0 Mavs run their largest lead of the game at 13.
Flagg inside.
Flagg up to 18 points now in the ninth.
He'll drive again.
Nice pass.
The sophomore sensation led the Mavs to a surprising
and dominant win over the Thunder
with an all-around performance of 26 points, 8 assists and 5 boards.
The Lakers were missing their superstar
but still didn't have any problems handling the city rivals.
And again, that's a steal.
And once again, it's the same guy.
Q throws it down.
And the next dead ball, Jones Jr., look out, they take it away.
Mamu.
Mamu's got it, going to get it right back in.
Look at Collin Sexton all fired up
after the end one over Brook Lopez,
standing up and
going at the big fella wanting all the smoke he can get.
He was a demon last night scoring 21 points off the bench
while acting all crazy on the
court.
Here he picked up Vogler at half court
not giving him an inch of space to operate while
While barking and growling at the rookie like a mad dog.
Then he switched on everybody until he forced the turnover
which ended up with the easy
bucket by Grimes in the open lane.
And the faces he was doing to Cam Christie. Sheee,
that was intense.
The only response by the Clippers was this lucky shot.
Regardless,
the Lakers won the game by 16 points at the end.
And while we're at it, let me fire one up myself.
Talk to you in the next one.
Peace out.
Splash, baby.
Gotta be the shirt.
