All right, 7-11. President Trump has canceled
some final campaign stops over the weekend.
He's been stopping places every day for the past,
I don't know, a couple of weeks at least.
But he had campaign stops planned for over the weekend.
Those have been canceled as a number
of midterm races around the country tighten up.
And it comes as the Justice Department
and the state of Alaska launch investigations into a Senate race.
So Doug is breaking all this down as we get closer and closer.
Alex and Jason, that's right, just a few days here.
The president is, in fact,
canceling some remaining in-person appearances in favor of
teller rallies, and he is calling
for this Democratic Senate candidate in Alaska to drop out.
It was a spooky early Halloween at the White House on a day
when the president was handing
out treats and denouncing tricks.
That's a fraud and it shouldn't be allowed to happen.
That after Alaska's unusual Senate ballot
featuring two Dan Sullivans drew new scrutiny
from federal and state investigators.
The New York Times reported that operatives associated
with Democratic candidate Mary
Mary Peltola.
Plucked an obscure Alaskan from a small town
who shared the same name as the Republican
incumbent and engineered his run to confuse voters.
I am not interested in tricking voters.
Appeltola has denied knowledge of the effort
in the surprisingly close Senate race.
I knew nothing about any other candidates.
On the ballot, except for me and the incumbent.
Supporting a spoiler candidate like
the other Dan Sullivan isn't in itself a crime,
but this may go beyond that.
But there's also other types of crimes that could be involved here,
lying to federal officials.
Filing false statements, all of those can be criminal acts.
I mean, I think it might be the biggest
October surprise of the midterm so far.
A surprise in an election cycle that already has
a number of Republicans around the country on edge,
including the president, who was rallying
for South Carolina Senate candidate Darlene Graham yesterday
in what is supposed to be a safe Republican state.
Now showing that the Senate race there in South Carolina,
just like the one in Alaska, is now a toss-up.
Alex and Jason.
And, yeah, I mean, is everything,
so many races too close to call and then polling?
What is that?
Is that really telling the truth here?
And I know.
Only one way to find out, and that'll be election day.
Well, and sometimes it'll take, it may take days.
That's true.
Yeah, yeah.
We may not have some answers come Tuesday night.
You know what I mean?
But in the meantime, Doug, are you going
to be doing anything for Halloween?
Um, I'm going to be, you know, out with my kids.
I don't know if I'm going to be actually dressing up for that.
Okay.
But I will be out.
How about you guys?
Are they doing a costume?
Yeah, one of them is doing,
my 10-year-old is doing one of the Descendants characters.
Okay.
I like it.
We're like, we don't know.
Let me Google that.
The 13-year-old, I don't know, she's dressing up as something.
I don't know.
Are you guys dressing up?
That will be revealed later.
At 9 a.m., we've got a big Halloween show.
Oh, well, then this is the tease then.
Yes, it is.
We love you, but we can't tell you just yet.
We're celebrating the 90s.
That's the theme.
I love it.
I love it.
Oh, okay, the Descendants.
Oh, the Disney Channel movie.
Oh.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Got it.
Yeah, it's been around for a while.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, we're just not here.
Jason, you should know.
I should know.
I have kids that age, and I still don't know.
I don't know.
All right, Doug, thank you.
Appreciate it.
Thanks so much.
Take care.
All right.
