All right, the countdown is on to our big Halloween
extravaganza happening in the 11 o'clock hour.
Hopefully you're getting ready for your
Halloween activities and festivities.
Thanks for being with us on this Friday.
I'm Jen Lammers, your Bob DeCastro, but not for much longer.
We'll just say that.
He's going to transform into something with drapes.
Draperies.
It's an original costume.
It is.
Right?
Created by you.
Cobbled it together, right?
Yeah.
It was cobbled together for sure.
But it will be an exciting...
I didn't want to disappoint Amanda.
Amanda.
Okay.
That is coming up at 11 a.m.
So you want to stay tuned for that.
In the meantime, I'm in my skin and bones costume
and we've got some showers outside.
We do have some light scattered showers,
just pockets of that throughout the day today.
So some of you may not get...
May not get any at all, and some will get some
of the heavier shower activity or sprinkles, if you will.
The real widespread rain is still expected tomorrow,
especially as you head out.
Trick-or-treating, still that timeline is what we're looking at.
In the meantime, right now, it's 59 in Granada Hills,
64 downtown LA, 61 in Corona.
It's 44 in Big Bear to that 67 in Palm Springs.
It's a little bit cooler today than yesterday,
but if you want the 80s, you can get to the
Coachella Valley, low desert, still looking at around 81 degrees today.
69 in the high desert to eventually 53
in Big Bear up in the mountains with some partly
sunny skies.
There's like a 10% chance there might be some sprinkles up there,
but greater chances here
We're here today.
20, 30 percent.
Downtown L.A., 70, so it's going to cool down.
72 for the valleys and the Inland Empire, well below normal.
Along the coast, we still have that coastal flood advisory
for the high tide coming in a little bit later.
I'll go over all those details
and show you the extended outlook in just a few moments.
Back to you.
All right, Maria, thank you.
Four people are under arrest this morning for allegedly setting a fire
that destroyed several businesses in Old Town Newhall in August.
We've got Gigi Garcia live there in Santa Clarita
with more on this. Gigi, good morning.
Good morning. We're getting some of those sprinkles
that Maria Croban was just talking
about here in Santa Clarita.
I'm in front of what once was several businesses basically burnt to the
ground. It's all been fenced off.
And today the news this community has anxiously been awaiting
the arrest of four people the sheriff's department say
are responsible for setting a fire that left
behind so much destruction and personal devastation,
especially for the business owners who lost
Everything. Take a look.
It was August 24th at 3 a.m. when the fire started here
on Main Street in Old Town Newhall.
The fire damaging or destroying seven buildings. You can
just see it raging there.
Amongst the buildings destroyed, the businesses, the main, a theater,
a clothing boutique owned by a mom of four,
the Newhall refinery, a restaurant, and so much more,
forcing so many out of business and causing $13 million
dollars in property damage alone and sources tell us this fire, well,
it was suspicious from the start.
The Sheriff's Department arson and explosives detail following a trail,
they say, led them right to a crew of arsonists.
And yesterday, they were arrested.
Take a look.
In custody, John Wright of Canyon Country.
And maybe this is the most surprising of the arrests.
He's actually the owner of Gary's Auto Collision Center.
That's exactly where the fire started.
Christian Leija, he's 43, from El Monte.
Jesus Figueroa, 54 years old, from Canyon Country.
And Antoinette Ruiz, she's 35 years old,
also from El Monte.
All of them facing arson and conspiracy charges.
Now,
Gina Silva actually did a story on John Wright
and his auto body business.
Back then, several people were claiming and accusing him of fraud,
saying he didn't do any of the work he promised to do on their cars.
And then he wouldn't return the vehicles.
John Wright, who you see there, was interviewed by Gina.
Thank you very much.
Denied any wrongdoing.
He's also been associated with another fire
that happened last year at another auto shop.
And he was facing multiple lawsuits
from the folks that Gina interviewed.
And according to the Signal of Santa Clarita,
Wright was also in financial trouble,
owing thousands of dollars in back rent.
And bringing it back here live now,
just all the rubble of what once was people's dreams,
Teams, people's businesses.
He says John Wright is behind bars this morning.
His bail has been set at $500,000.
The other suspects have no bail set for them,
and they're all due in court next week.
Reporting live in a now rainy Newhall, I'm Gigi Graciette.
Back to you.
It's like a dual report you're doing here, Gigi,
with developments in that story and now the rain.
We appreciate you, Gigi.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Just days before the midterm elections, President Trump has canceled
some final campaign stops just as a number of races are tightening up.
All right, we're just four days away. We've got Doug Lizato live for us
in Washington with the latest on all this on this Friday. Good morning.
Good morning, guys. Last big weekend push now,
and the White House is canceling a couple
of in-person appearances that the president
was set to make in Iowa and Kansas. He is
still going to Florida today for what sounds like
a final in-person campaign stop. And
there is also a fair amount of talk about
that very unusual Senate race taking place
in Alaska.
It was a spooky early Halloween at the White House on a day
when the president was handing out treats and denouncing tricks.
That's a fraud, and it shouldn't be allowed to happen.
That after Alaska's unusual Senate ballot featuring two Dan
Sullivans drew new scrutiny from federal and state investigators.
The New York Times reported that operatives associated
with Democratic candidate Mary Peltola
Plucked an obscure Alaskan from a small town
who shared the same name as the Republican
incumbent and engineered his run to confuse voters.
I am not interested in tricking voters.
Peltola has denied knowledge of the effort
in the surprisingly close Senate race.
I knew nothing about any other candidates.
On the ballot, except for me and the incumbent.
Supporting a spoiler candidate like
the other Dan Sullivan isn't in itself a crime,
but this may go beyond that.
But there's also other types of crimes that could be involved here,
lying to federal officials,
filing false statements.
All of those can be criminal acts.
And I think it might be the biggest October surprise
of the midterms so far.
A surprise in an election cycle that already has
a number of Republicans around the country on edge,
including the president, who was rallying
for South Carolina Senate candidate Darlene Graham yesterday
in what is supposed to be a safe Republican state.
It's not looking so safe right now.
We just moved that race in South Carolina to the toss-up category.
Pretty significant,
considering how ruby red South Carolina was once considered.
Bob and Jen.
And you mentioned that the president is now going
to start going to some of these rallies virtually.
Is it an attempt to try to get to more rallies, or is he pulling back
on his tour, this blitz through all of these states?
That's the argument they're making is that they'll
be able to reach more people this way.
They're talking about, I think, somewhere in the neighborhood of 20
or so of these kind of virtual rallies or virtual appearances anyway.
But obviously it doesn't pack the same punch
as an in-person appearance would.
All right.
I know. Here we go.
It's busy. Next few days, that's for sure.
The countdown is on.
Doug, thank you. Have a great weekend.
Have a great weekend. Thank you.
LA City Council member and mayoral challenger Nithya Raman says
incumbent mayor Karen Bass has mismanaged the LAX People Mover project.
Raman cites problems such as electrical arc explosions
on the People Mover as an example of Mayor Bass' failure.
Is Mayor Bass going to open the people mover
to the public before we have figured out why
it sometimes explodes?
The public deserves a clear explanation
of what engineers have established, what remains
unresolved, and what safety requirements must
be met before passengers board.
The opening of the people mover called Skylink has
been pushed back several times now.
There's no official opening date
on Los Angeles World Airport's website.
A spokesperson for Mayor Bass's campaign says Rahman literally voted
for the contract that led to delays
and the contractor will face severe financial penalties.
Mayor Bass, meantime, is promoting efforts
to fix broken streetlights in L.A.
The mayor says some 5,000 lights have been replaced
so far with solar-powered streetlights.
Our goal remains clear.
Keep our neighborhoods safe, so we're eliminating
our street light repair backlog and installing solar lights.
The mayor's plan calls for the repair and replacement
of 60,000 street lights citywide over the next two years.
She says switching over to solar also eliminates the problem
with people stealing the copper wire from conventional street lights.
And a reminder, join us Sunday night
and Monday morning to hear Mayor Karen Bass
and Nithya Raman answer tough questions in one-on-one interviews.
Again, that's Sunday night at 10
and Monday at 11 o'clock right here on Fox 11.
Of course, we also stream on Fox Local.
Downtown L.A. transforms into the center of pop culture this weekend.
L.A. Comic-Con is back.
That's right, and our very own.
Oh, my gosh.
Every live shot is something new.
Oh, my goodness.
Mario.
I love it.
By the power of the gray skull, I have the power.
I will.
Boy, you really, you, I don't know
who likes Halloween more, you or Amanda.
Amanda, you've met your match in He-Man.
2026 Comic Con.
Dang, all these costumes.
Great, great.
You know, Amazon, a little cool thing,
a little cool step out of the closet.
That's so good.
Chris is the CEO here of LA Comic Con.
You guys hang on.
Chris, thanks for...
Joining us this morning, letting us in, let's take a walk inside.
We're going to get people a behind-the-scenes look, and you tell us.
Let's take a walk.
Well, one of the great things about
being L.A.'s hometown comic convention
is we have so many different fans.
So over in this hall, it's a completely different vibe.
This is called Akihabara Station
based in the Akihabara neighborhood from Tokyo.
This is where all things anime happen at L.A. Comic-Con.
So over the last couple of years, as anime has really exploded,
The fans said to us, more anime, we want more anime.
And so last year we launched this,
and it was so popular that we've tripled the amount of space this year.
And as you can see, we brought in Cherry Blossoms and Tori Gates
and really have made it a destination for anime at L.A. Comic-Con.
Yeah, I've never been, but it feels like Tokyo with the mood.
And it's very fun, and we found partners
that were companies based over in Tokyo.
We wanted it to be as authentic as possible.
And so throughout this area,
we have artists here who are anime artists.
We have voice talent
talent both from the Japanese voice artists from Tokyo as well as the
American artists that did the American versions
of them so this whole area is
really dedicated to all things anime.
Okay so from anime let's talk about some
of the other stuff that people
are gonna see they're still setting up you're
talking about over 1,200 exhibitors
Yes, we have over 1,200 artists and exhibitors throughout the show.
And really, whatever your fandom is,
I mean, if you go to Comic-ConLA.com
and you look at the schedule of guests, right, you see this huge array
from Breaking Bad to Outlander to Futurama to Nick Cage, right?
And I think that that's the whole point
of what we try to do for Angelenos.
is there's such a diverse group of fans here.
We want to have a really eclectic
and diverse talent pool and we want
the exhibitors and the artists to reflect
that as well. So no matter what it is that you or your
kids love, you'll find it here. But we also hope you'll also turn a
corner and discover something new.
I love that. Well, thank you so much for taking me seriously
with this wig on, because you haven't missed a beat.
Well, you know, as the day goes on, I just watch you morph
from one thing to another, and it's just a pleasure to watch.
Love it.
Love it. So that is what Comic-Con is all about.
L.A. Comic-Con might not be the first,
but it's the best, you guys. I'm saying it here.
Yes.
All right, for now, live here downtown at the convention center.
You know it, we know it. I love the bangs.
Mario.
I mean, between all the Dodger gear that you have
and now all these costumes that you have,
your closet must be jam-packed.
Ha, ha, ha, ha.
Yes, I'll be dressing up for Halloween, too,
and you guys will see me in Halloween.
I know, we're looking forward to seeing you here at 11 a.m.
Can't wait to see what he comes up with then.
Now I know how Jen feels.
I just need to, like, cut those ties.
Right?
Make it lopsided.
The bob is activated.
Let us know if blondes do have more fun.
You know they do.
You're not going to answer that, right?
Blonde, blonde, blonde, blonde.
Of course they don't.
Be right back.
Ew.
Ew.
Ah, there it is.
Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
And the World Series champions,
the Milwaukee Brewers, are getting ready to...
Go down those streets.
We remember what that felt like, right?
We do.
You know, the big buses,
the double-decker buses with all the team coming out.
They're ready.
The parade doesn't start until 10 o'clock.
And they're already there.
But they are already lined up.
A little bit of a different celebration for them will be beer,
schnitzel, and cheese.
All the gassy foods.
Cheese.
Lots of cheese.
Right.
Sausage.
No dietary restrictions in that crowd, that's for sure.
Yeah.
All right, get your costumes ready
because the West Hollywood Carnival is back tomorrow night,
transforming Santa Monica Boulevard into the ultimate street party.
Tens of thousands of ghouls
and goblins packing that one-mile stretch between Doheny and La Cienega
from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday.
You can expect wild costumes, some people barely wearing any costumes.
I know, right?
A live DJ, plenty of food trucks there.
The event is totally free.
You saw some video over there of some pets.
They're asking that you leave your pets.
The crowds are so huge, and it's just like,
I'd be worried that my dog would get stepped on.
The kids, they don't bring kids if possible, but people do anyway.
Anyway.
Organizers say have clear plastic bags.
Remember, no public drinking is allowed.
Officials urge you to use the free...
WeHo Halloween Ride Shuttle to get there.
You know, I've never been.
You have it?
Yeah.
I really wanna go at some point.
Okay, well, one year we're gonna have-
Before I get too old.
One year we're gonna have to do it.
Yeah.
If you're driving in the area, pack your patience.
Street closures begin tonight at midnight at San Vicente,
and by 7 a.m. on Saturday,
you can expect rolling closures,
Robertson and surrounding streets, and then the really
big closure is between 10 a.m. and noon on Saturday
when they shut down Santa Monica
Boulevard fully.
Between La Cienega Boulevard and Doheny,
most roads will be finally reopened by 6 AM on Sunday.
So people are gonna be heading out there, but it's the first time in 12
years that we are going to be experiencing some rain.
I think it's gonna matter though, maybe for some people.
It depends on what you're wearing or not wearing.
This is true.
Because even if it rains just a little bit,
let's say, you know, you're talking about
a quarter of an inch to three quarters of an inch
or half an inch, but if it's persistent
and you're getting that sprinkle or that mist for like hours long.
You're going to see a lot of body paint washing down the drain.
That's the part, like, especially if you have
the face paint, you know, how it's so intricate.
Right.
So you really have to plan for the rain, guys,
because right at that time when everyone's
going to be heading out,
especially the latter part of Saturday evening.
It is looking, according to the models,
like we're going to get some widespread showers, if not rain.
Everywhere. So just plan for that.
Bring an umbrella, bring a clear plastic bag to put over your body just
so that you can preserve everything.
We do have some pockets of light, light showers.
I know Gigi was out towards Santa Clarita and I'm seeing some
of those cells there, but very light and also out towards Riverside.
A lot of the bulk of the moisture right now
is to our south over San Diego. Here is our West Coast outlook.
This is one of the models that we are using. This one kind
of backs off a little bit on the heavy rain, but take a look at the
Look, so this is as of this time, you can see the light green
across SoCal, some snow even in the Sierra Nevada, but light,
light scattered passing showers perhaps today into tomorrow morning.
And then as we get to Saturday morning,
you can see that this little cutoff low gets a little bit closer.
You can see that there's still some light showers tomorrow morning.
But as this upper level low pulls up,
It's going to help pull up all that moisture
from the southwest, then it's going to be
more widespread as we get to around 6,
7 p.m. and then continue through the overnight hours
with the peak of the rain really tomorrow night
into early Sunday morning.
Sunday night, I think the system will be out of here.
We'll have an area of high pressure that's going
to dry things out Monday, Tuesday, and
then Wednesday, guess what?
We're watching another area of low pressure
that could bring us another chance for some
light showers midweek next week.
As far as the tides, you know,
We have had record high tides this past week with over eight feet.
Yesterday, it did lower a bit to 7.81.
And that coastal flood warning for more significant flooding along
our coast actually was allowed to expire.
Now we have a coastal flood advisory.
And I think we're going to lower it a little bit more today to 7.4.
Thankfully, we don't have a really large swell coming in.
It's really just two to four foot sets coming in.
And that high tide will be between 11 and around 1 p.m. this afternoon.
All right, let's go.
Back up to Justin in SkyFox
and get another look at what's going on down below.
Justin, that looks busy.
Where are you?
G'day, Maria.
We're in Long Beach at the moment over the 710 North.
We had an incident here with a semi-trailer and two vehicles.
It's taking away two lanes.
We've got some heavy backup all the way to the 405.
It's a long drive if you're making
your way from Long Beach to downtown,
looking at about 50 minutes to an hour.
Just remember, too, guys,
that single alert's still in effect on the 134 at the Silver Lake exit
as you make your way towards the 5 freeway eastbound.
Not seeing any rain out here at the moment,
but just remember, slow down and turn on your lights
and maybe a good time to check on those windscreen wipers.
This traffic report is brought to you by My Home Sold,
and that's how it's shaping up for Skyfox.
Let's have a look at some other traffic hotspots.
Hello, I'm Adrian Hernandez
with MyHomeSold.com and we want to buy your house cash.
We save you money with no commissions,
no fees, no repairs, for free, no obligation
as this cash offer.
Go to MyHomeSold.com.
Welcome back.
We are about to introduce you to a group of Burbank residents
who take Halloween very
seriously and we are so here for it.
We are here for it.
Take a look at some of their spectacular displays.
This is my house.
This is my circus.
These are my clowns.
This actually came from the mind of my son.
And now her kid and all of his friends run the haunt.
This year our theme is paralysis.
As they've gotten older, the haunts gotten
progressively more and more scary, and it's
really fun.
We have guest clowns that come back every year.
My first time checking out these haunted houses.
I like this place a lot.
You should come here.
Production value is pretty good.
It's her very first Halloween ever.
She just got here from China.
Yeah.
Get out of here.
We also have Chainsaw Alley,
where you'll get chased by clowns with chainsaws.
The chainsaw wouldn't scare me the most.
Oh my gosh.
Once you go in, there's no rules. You may not come out.
I'd recommend this to my best friend.
We have John Misari, the composer from Killer Klowns from Outer Space.
I've done music all my life.
My wife.
It's Killer Klowns from Outer Space that has distinguished me
and endeared me to the horror community.
It's a great opportunity.
Next one we're going to go to is called Holiday Fantasies Come to Life.
This year they surprised everybody
and they built a gigantic pirate ship in their yard
and they're doing Pirates of the Caribbean.
Pirates no matter what,
since generations that pirates strikes a lot of people.
They have live actors every single night
with pirates that you can go and take pictures
with.
It's totally kid friendly.
This dream started 16 years ago. It started as a graveyard.
I used to do the spooky side. Not anymore.
And that's because little ones, you know, they will cry and run away.
And I really don't want that. You're never too old to be a kid.
Even though when I was a little kid, I was very spoiled,
a lot of toys, and I'm still playing, I'm still having fun,
why not make someone happy with playing with my toys?
The kids go there and their eyes light up
because it's like being at Disneyland for them,
and a lot of people can't afford to go to Disneyland.
Burbank Haunt is totally cool for kids.
This is one of the most awesome Burbank Haunts, Beetlejuice.
It's not scary. It's totally family friendly.
Owner John, he's been doing it for three years now.
He does all the animatronics, everything himself.
He has the dinner scene from Beetlejuice.
He has a really cool portal that you open the door
and it looks like you're walking through a portal.
Start off.
Girl from Beetlejuice, where she's taking tickets
and the door's opening and closing.
Closing.
It's one of my favorite displays in all of Burbank.
They're raising money for the John
Burroughs High School Stagecraft Tech Crew.
It's totally free, but if people want to donate,
it's an awesome cause to donate to.
Buena Vista Haunt.
Michael Myers, the Buena Vista Haunt.
I got my pumpkin patch, cemetery, and spooky spider cave.
But it's not, like, scary. It's totally family-friendly.
I freak out when somebody is like chasing me.
He was really nice.
That's my thing, friendly neighborhood
Michael Myers, that's where it's at.
It's a really fun place for kids to go
who are kind of just getting into spooky stuff
because it's not super scary.
I don't like to scare the kids.
This is for children.
At first we were scared of him,
but then he invited us to take a picture, so then we took
a picture and he was really nice.
This is a labor of love. I work on this all year round.
This is the new big project I made, the Camp Crystal Lake.
You're going to see a maze, you're going to see a scare actor,
you're going to see a house decorated, a whole bunch of things.
You're going to enter into the bride's section that's glow-in-the-dark
that begins the spider cave, and then you walk into the spider cave.
There's a lot of creepy crawlers in there.
I just want people to have a good time, a safe time.
It's time for Halloween!
That is awesome.
Unbelievable.
Oh, my gosh.
They do it big.
Big thanks to Jennifer Spindich for showing
our crew around the Burbank haunt.
If you want to visit any of the places you just saw,
you can visit that on our website.
There's right there on your screen, FrightSpot.com.
Jennifer has a map with all the details you need right there.
It takes a whole year for him to put that together.
They start working immediately after Halloween's over.
They do it for the community, and it's all for a good cause, too.
So much fun.
Wow.
Great job.
Be right back.
Good morning and happy Halloween.
Happy Halloween.
What's your favorite scary movie, everybody?
It would be that one.
Mine's Scream 2.
Yeah.
Scream as well.
Uh-huh, as well.
But I also do like Scream 2 the best, the college years.
Yeah.
Yeah, I do.
I do.
I like Sinister is a good one.
Yeah, that's a good one.
You can't go wrong with Chucky.
Right.
Hi, I'm Chucky.
There's so many.
Want to play?
Because I like all the vintage stuff.
Yeah, me too.
The Shining.
The Shining.
Here's Bobby!
The Exorcist is probably the scariest one.
You know what's good is The Conjuring.
Ooh, The Conjuring's great. Lots of jump scares in The Conjuring.
Do you guys like Obsession? Have you seen Obsession?
I want to see that. I might want to see that.
Streaming on Peacock? If you have Peacock,
you can stream it for free because you already subscribed to Peacock.
But is that a horror film?
Well, I would say it's a horror film,
but it is in the musical comedy category for The Globes.
Right.
We'll submit it for her.
It's on my list, Amanda.
Thank you.
You have Peacock, right?
I think so.
Well, it's on Netflix next month.
So, yeah, there you go.
Oh, okay, okay.
I'll look.
But in the meantime, guys, I know you have your big,
you know, all your extravaganza today.
You've got the parties tomorrow.
We are anticipating some scattered light
showers today, just pockets of that.
But then we'll get the widespread rain as we get into tomorrow.
So it will be a rainy Halloween.
So you just have to adjust
and pivot a little bit with your plans for tomorrow.
The rain should peak in terms of the heaviness.
The heaviness and the strength should be around after
the kids get back from trick-or-treating.
At least that's what the models are pointing to.
During the overnight hours as well into Sunday morning, we still have
the coastal flood advisory that is in effect along our coastline.
We've got some pockets of moisture here showing up on the radar.
Most of it just passed through parts of Santa Clarita.
West Covina's got some showers.
Riverside's got some light showers.
So drive safely, please,
a little slower so you can not get to those slick roads and slide out.
We've got rain on.
Already this month we've had four days of some rain so it would
be nice to end the month with some rain. It'll be beneficial rain.
We kind of do need a little bit more rain here today.
A little cooler than yesterday.
A high of just 70 degrees. It will be cloudy sunset.
Time, remember that, a little bit later at 6.02 tonight.
So a lot of people will plan accordingly
to trick-or-treat just before sunset, right,
when it's a little bit more on the dim side.
And it will be dark quickly
because of all the clouds that will be outside.
72 for Woodland Hills today for that high temperature.
That's it, 68 in Pasadena, 71 in Corona,
53 in Big Bear, to that 81 in Palm Springs.
All right, when I come back, we'll
do the seven-day forecast plus your pictures
and today's TV shout-outs.
Back to you.
Thank you, Maria.
What was your favorite candy when you were a kid, when you go
trick-or-treating, that you were like, ooh, they have blank candy?
I do remember that there was one house that had candy apples.
And, like, the nuts covering, like, the, right?
The chocolate nuts.
I didn't like getting apples in my bag.
Like, someone just dropping an apple in your bag.
No, it was a caramel apple.
Oh, a caramel apple.
Caramel nuts, yeah.
Hmm.
I always like to, I always save the chocolate for last,
you know, so like I would eat all the hard candies.
Do you like the crunch bars?
Yeah.
Reese's, Twix, but sour, okay, now as an adult,
the Sour Punch individual straws, the sour ones.
Yeah, I'm not a sour gal.
I know you like the sour stuff, right?
I love the sour stuff.
The worms.
Oh, you love the sour worms.
I know you also are a sucker for the chocolate-covered gummy bears.
I love the chocolate-covered gummy bears.
I don't gatekeep.
You can get them at Trader Joe's
for under five bucks a bag, and they're delicious.
What about when people just drop candy corn in there?
Sandra, that's disrespectful, actually.
Yeah, it's actually rude.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's actually rude.
Happy Halloween, Eve.
Let's jump into some entertainment from Candy to Mandy.
Entertainment sponsored by Yamabar Resort and Casino.
Elmo.
It's Elmo.
Elmo.
Elmo loves you.
You sound like Yoda.
Elmo?
Well, Elmo, he is on the pulse of pop culture.
He is all ready for Halloween,
and he just revealed his costume this year.
No, no, wasn't a question.
Oh, Elmo better get into his costume.
Guess who Elmo is?
Pumpkins?
For fall.
How groundbreaking.
So good!
He's Miranda Priestly, of course,
from the famous film, The Devil Wears Prada.
Why is everybody?
I love that.
The iconic role famously played by the one and only Meryl Streep.
By all means, move at a glacial pace.
I just have to say the first film
is way more quote-worthy than the sequel.
Just have to say that.
I mean, look, he's still saying groundbreaking,
and that was from the film from over two decades ago.
I think he nailed it.
You may see a little Devil Wears Prada today.
You may not.
I don't know.
In our Halloween spooktacular.
We'll have to see.
Maybe somebody's going to be dressed as something like that.
I don't know.
We're just going to have to watch.
It's in three and a half hours, 11 a.m.
Okay, I can't recommend this enough.
If you have three hours in an afternoon,
because I know you guys go to bed early,
you've got to see the documentary, You Can See Everything.
It's in theaters now.
It focuses on disgraced Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes,
a month away from heading to prison,
brought to us by the mind and facial expressions,
or lack thereof, of Nathan Fielder.
But it also happens to be a wildly popular
Halloween costume, right, Jimmy Falun?
Be honest.
Do you really want to be on the show tonight?
Of course I do.
I love talking
to you.
I'm not just here to promote your new show.
You'll be wet.
No.
I'm engaging with you as a human being.
I'm sorry.
Why would I deceive you?
There's no reason for me to do that.
There's nothing for me to deceive you on.
Oh my gosh.
Nailed it.
He nailed it.
Jimmy Falun and Jamie Lee Curtis letting
us know they too can see everything.
Can I just say, if you are going to do a Halloween costume,
that added little extra layer is
the voice.
Yes.
The voice goes a long way.
So, you know, why would I deceive you?
Why would I?
Not everybody has the voice.
Interacting with you like a person,
Like a human being, right?
Well, you've been practicing your voice for today.
I have been.
And Jen's been practicing her voice and I think a lot of us have,
I've been working with Sandra as her vocal coach, even though she goes,
I got it. It's very cute. I walked by Sandra's desk.
And she had a YouTube video of her character on the screen.
She's getting very methodical.
I love it, I was very happy she was researching.
So yes, if you want to see our costumes,
tune in today, 11 a.m. on Good Day LA+.
That leads us to our poll question of the day.
We want to know, weigh in,
do you have a costume for Halloween?
Yes, you're ready to scare.
Almost, you're making those final touches,
or nah, you're going as yourself.
Well, if you're going as yourself,
you're not getting any candy from me.
That's right.
Go to foxla.com slash vote.
And you know what?
Let us know what your costume is this year
so we can give you a shout out.
Also, maybe let us know how you're going
to be getting your costume rain ready.
How you're celebrating your cost you're celebrating Halloween.
Let's not talk about the rain. I know I really know you got to right.
I guess it's not taken away from the trick-or-treating the partying.
No, I think it's still going to go on. That's right.
No one's going to rain on this Halloween. That's right.
We're not raining on this Halloween. That's right.
Let's get to Justin with a look at traffic.
There was some rain out there Justin.
Yes, Bobby, a little bit of rain on the lens there earlier,
but nothing really settling on the road looking down here
at the 101 freeway in Hollywood. That's the Melrose exit.
Pretty smooth sailing if you're making your way towards downtown.
You're looking at about 20 minutes.
Good news for anybody on the 134 as you approach the 5 freeway.
That SIG alert has been cleared according to CHP.
And the only thing I'm really seeing
is unfortunately the Sepulveda Pass. We had a...
Vehicle's stalled there in the number
one lane as you approach Mulholland.
CHP have moved it to the right shoulder, but definitely slowing.
Looking at about 50 minutes to be going
from the valley through to the 10 freeway.
This traffic is brought to you by Jacoby and Myers.
Let's take a look at some other traffic hotspots.

And welcome back to you.
I'm meteorologist Maria Covan.
Good Day LA weather is brought to you by My Home Sold.
A live look outside right now.
It's bright, but definitely on the cloudy side.
Don't really see too much in the way
of some light showers here at the beach in Santa Monica,
but it is in the forecast.
Some pockets of very light scattered showers.
We do have some heavy rain here across Texas.
If you are traveling today and heading into even Oklahoma City,
we've got some very wet weather there.
Also some wet weather pushing out of Iowa.
into Illinois. The Midwest will get some of those showers.
The warmest I could find across the country is down to the southeast
in Tampa today in Miami in the upper 80s. 50 degrees in Seattle
with an area of low pressure moving into the Pacific Northwest.
One of two storms I'm watching that will be impacting our weather
this Halloween weekend. We've got a cutoff low down to our southwest
and as these two systems move towards Southern California, this one in
particular will help pull up all of this moisture from the southwest.
We're already seeing some pockets
of that shower activity I was telling you about today,
but then we'll get more widespread rain tomorrow.
Here's one of our models.
You can see how it's kind of spotty, right?
The chance for some scattered passing showers today into this evening.
Tomorrow morning, the same, but a little
bit more in the way of that cloud cover.
And then watch what happens as we get to 3, 4, 5 p.m.
We get a little bit more widespread shower activity.
It's still going to be mostly light, though, occasionally moderate.
That's the light to dark green colors here.
Notice some of the yellows here popping up.
Just as those kids would be out trick-or-treating,
this model is telling us that it's going to be
moderate to even heavy at times with some of these showers moving in.
I do think the heavier
downpours will hold off until after the parties,
I think, during the overnight hours into early
Sunday morning. It looks like Orange County will get hit
with some of those heavier cells,
and then it'll be out of here by late Sunday night.
Monday, we will dry out
And get more sunshine.
We have had some wet holidays.
The record rain we had
for one Halloween storm
goes back to 1987, over
an inch and a third of rain.
I believe that was a super El Nino year as well.
So we'll see what we get because rainfall totals are ranging anywhere
from a quarter to a half an inch of rain for the coast and valleys,
upwards of an inch and a half possible for the mountains and foothills.
Right now, this model is showing mostly a third to four tenths
of an inch of rain, perhaps a little bit more in Palm Springs.
So we'll wait and see how this all pans out at the end of Sunday.
But bottom line, be prepared for those showers and make sure you get
your rain boots as you head out on Sunday afternoon.
Good evening. Sunset will be just after 6 p.m. Here
is your beach forecast today. Two to four foot sets.
So nothing too big in terms of a swell,
just a little wind swell coming out of the south and the southwest.
Temperatures in the water actually warmer than temperatures
on the sand, getting even up to the mid 70s.
And we do have that coastal flood advisory.
We've got that high tide coming up starting at 11
a.m. and then peaking closer to 12:31 p.m. today.
It's not going to be quite as high as the last several days.
And so that's why those coastal flood warnings
were allowed to expire yesterday.
Today, 70 degrees along the coast with those scattered passing showers.
Tomorrow, more widespread rain, 70 percent, 69.
And then we dry out Monday. Don't forget.
Tomorrow night, set your clocks back one hour before you go to bed.
That'll be nice.
A little extra hour of sleep.
Sunday morning, 70 degrees for downtown LA today.
60s tomorrow and Sunday.
Again, with that widespread rain.
Much drier Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.
Maybe another opportunity for some showers late Wednesday.
But 72 today for the Valleys and the Inland Empire
with that scattered shower activity.
More widespread rain tomorrow.
The mountains, 53.
I think we're going to hold off on the heavier stuff
of the rain on the mountains like Big Bear
until Saturday night into Sunday.
It's going to stay mostly dry, I think, today.
Out towards the high desert areas,
maybe 40% chance for some showers tomorrow.
Mostly dry today, 20% on Sunday.
And out towards the Coachella Valley, 81% today.
Also staying mostly dry until late tomorrow night.
Into Sunday, 80% chance for showers on Sunday.
And then we dry things out Monday into next week.
All right, let's do some TV shout outs before you walk out the door.
We've got a happy special 48th birthday to this young lady,
beautiful wife, lady, Andrea
Farid, your husband, our king sent us this photo.
He sent me some really cute photos of you guys,
but I can only choose one, so I picked
this one.
Yeah, happy birthday, and then a happy Halloween from this crew.
Tyler sent us this photo.
I guess you guys have a haunted car wash here.
I love it.
You and your teammates, awesome.
Keep those pictures coming.
All you have to do is email them to us,
tvshoutouts at fox.com.
Make sure you attach the photo, give us their name,
and a little tidbit of info we can mention,
but tvshoutouts at fox.com.
All right, there's my weather. I'll send it back to you.
We'd love it, Maria. Thank you.
Still waiting to buy the Halloween candy.
You could be in trouble.
Experts say the very worst day to buy that candy is actually today.
Okay.
Because retailers know that last-minute shoppers,
you know, you're desperate to grab that candy.
Yeah.
So the prices spike over $2 a unit before Halloween.
The other bad news about buying today,
the selection of candy is slim, so the shelves are kind of bare.
Candy corn is the only stuff that's left over at this point, right?
You may have to settle for the least popular candies.
Okay, so what's the least popular?
Good question.
I'll say it.
What?
Milk Duds.
I don't, because you know what?
Because they get stuck in your teeth.
It's too much.
Can we not?
Yeah, it's too much work.
Yeah, yeah.
What about Raisinets?
Oh, I love Raisinets.
Oh, about the goobers.
What's the, um, I love, where, Almond Joy, Almond Joy.
Oh, I love Almond Joy because I like coconut.
That's good, yeah.
Mounds, even worse.
Oh!
I don't have your mounds.
Don't give me anything coconut.
Milk Duds is like, it keeps your mouth
shut, it like locks your jaw down.
It does, yeah.
It's like a gelato.
It's on your teeth.
You know what?
You just let it melt in your mouth.
I'm going to one-up it.
Candy corn.
The worst.
Sorry.
Tastes like whack.
Yeah, it tastes like whack.
I don't want whacks.
I don't like this.
I do like candy corn.
I mean, I don't like, I didn't like when I was a kid
when somebody would just drop candy
corn in your, you know, an unwrapped candy corn.
Which by the way, that's, that can't be safe, right?
Right.
But let me ask you about candy corn.
Do you ever like, like, yeah, I'm really craving some candy.
If I see some, I would, it's just sugar, right?
But yeah, I like it.
It tastes like butter.
I bet you also like Peeps for Easter.
I don't like Peeps.
I like Peeps.
But I like the Cadbury egg.
That, of course you do.
Yeah.
That's like, yeah.
Yeah.
Wow.
Well, hey, the Dodgers playoff run ended
with a frightening sweep by the Brewers,
and apparently the spooky stuff doesn't end there.
Dodger Stadium has a ghostly reputation, did you know, did you know?
A new ranking of North America's most
haunted sports venues has Dodger Stadium.
In at number two, yeah, this is a list from sports geeks.
It looks at ghost stories, historical events, the age of the stadium,
and even how close it is to a cemetery.
It is? And
Dodger Stadium has some pretty creepy folklore, you hear this one?
The big one, a mysterious woman in white,
reportedly seen by stadium employees,
with some describing her as a screaming apparition.
Only the Cowboys, AT&T Stadium ranked higher,
rounding out the top five were Chicago's Wrigley Field,
Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, and Fenway Park in Boston.
Fenway Park, Red Sox.
Yeah, a white woman haunting the halls,
and we all know there's nothing scarier than a white woman.
A white woman or a woman in white?
Yeah, probably both.
There's nothing scarier than a white woman, let me tell you.
Scary white woman.
That's true.
I mean.
It was a woman in white.
I know.
Not a white woman.
Well.
She's going through perimenopause, making a double.
It's even worse.
But it would track.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
My husband knows that.
Send us your best Halloween spirit.
Take a pic of your pumpkin.
Send them to us.
We want to see your costumes, your home decorations.
Yeah.
Do we have a QR code?
There it is.
We do.
Send us pictures of your scary white women.
How are you?
How are you?
How are you?
How are you?
How are you?
How are you?
How are you?
There's a cute one.
Ooh, Daniel!
Daniel!
Daniel, man.
Daniel!
That's scary.
Oh, MJ, you little sweet potato.
So cute.
Moana, I think.
How beautiful.
Cute.
Cute.
They're cute.
Yeah.
Amora.
These are some Amora pictures.
Uh-huh.
They make her cute.
