All right. Speaking of the weather,
let's get to meteorologist Ramesha Shade.
You know, Ramesha, looking at Sarah over there in Anchorage,
man, it's got to be cold over there. But here in Houston,
we're worried about a little bit of rain we're going to get here soon.
Yeah, we've got the rain. It's a little sloppy out there, Anthony,
but I'm glad it is not freezing out there. I prefer the warmer weather
and it looks like it'll stay fairly pleasant for a holiday weekend.
But we've got widespread rain building into the Houston area.
Flood watches back towards Phoenix. Just a lot
of tropical moisture streaming into the southwestern U.S. and in the
into parts of the state of Texas.
It's not just rain that we're worried about,
but we also have a few strong thunderstorms bubbling up.
Out over the Gulf and this is south of Palacios,
Bay City, south of Lake Jackson
and this marine warning has been extended for another hour through 615.
Those strong storms there could briefly produce a water spout or two.
So please be careful if you're planning on being out there
on the water over the next hour or so. Farther north over land,
we've got heavy rain extending from Lake Jackson to Angleton all
the way up to Manville, Alvin, even into Harris County.
It is steady, pretty decent rain causing some very
A slow Friday evening rush over Houston, Bel Air, up towards Cypress,
Jersey Village, Aldine, Atascosita, and even up into Montgomery County,
right over here in Conroe, in the woodlands.
The rain is a little bit lighter, but it's still rain,
and it's still kind of messy out there.
Here's the good thing.
So far, rain totals for Houston have been manageable,
less than a half inch, but anywhere from one
to three inches of rain showing up southwest of Houston.
This is going to be close.
Closer to the Victoria area.
So what's going to happen for the rest of this evening and to tonight?
You may have big dinner, movie, concert, party plans.
Of course, it's the start of our Halloween weekend.
And our graph model showing this big batch
of rain continuing to roll over us.
Maybe a few strong storms close to the coast.
You see Bay City in that low possible risk for a brief,
strong and severe storm.
At least we are looking like we'll get rid of most
of that rain in time for trick-or-treating.
Of course, we've got a few more hours of early voting left,
so if you're going to get out there and get in before 7 o'clock,
Plan on wet roads, messy conditions, temps in the 70s, 74 degrees by 6.
We've got scream on the green out at Discovery Green.
This starts at 6 o'clock, ends at 9 this evening.
And once again, more sloppy weather.
We've got showers that will be likely,
although temperatures will be feeling pretty good, 73 to 74 degrees.
All right.
Let's jump to tomorrow because tomorrow is a huge one
for the trick-or-treaters. We're keeping a
close eye on this forecast
and we've been monitoring it all week and it's still looking
like if you're heading out for trick-or-treating around 5,
6 o'clock, decent chance for some spotty
rain. If you're going out closer to 7, 8, 9 p.m.,
I think most of that rain is gone. And notice
whether you go early or late,
those temperatures likely hanging out in the 70s. So kind of
up and down. We're on a roller coaster
with our weather over the next day or two, but
I think we're really getting the worst of it over
the next few hours. A few showers linger
Saturday morning. I think they kind of wind down
for trick-or-treat time. And then, of course,
we've got daylight saving ending on Sunday morning.
Enjoy that extra hour of sleep,
but sunset will be earlier at 534.
And then later on in our show, I'm going to break down
Election Day Tuesday, strong cold front rolling across the state
could have some big impacts on voter turnout, maybe some wet roads,
maybe waiting in long lines with heavy rain coming down.
So we've got to talk about the threat for strong storms,
heavy rain, unfortunately bad timing on our election day,
but cooler, drier weather,
nice fall weather behind that front for the middle of next week.
