Spain win inaugural FIFA U-15 World Cup

I'm speechless, honestly. This has been such a fantastic tournament. Everyone who came here to Baku, to Azerbaijan, to witness this FIFA Under-15 World Cup and Festival, the very first with the whole world. All 211 countries were invited. 189 decided to come and participate. They have lived An unforgettable experience, all of them. Football is for everyone, everywhere. This is what FIFA is about. And we have to give everyone, everywhere in the world, an opportunity, a chance, a hope. Every talent has to be able to come and play in a World Cup. It doesn't matter whether his country is big, or small, or rich, or poor, whether it's from far away or close by, it doesn't matter, everyone deserves a chance. And this event with 189 countries participating, 189 countries who scored as well at least one goal, so who celebrated their first World Cup goal for so many, 189 countries who, I came and met and gathered without speaking the language, they communicated, they were all staying in the same village, I was there, I exchanged with them, it was just so beautiful. 14 year old, 15 year old boys coming together and spreading happiness and joy and love. I think this is simply the best, I think this is the best that we have done in FIFA in the last 120 years. Everybody's in love with the tournament, everybody wants to do it again straight away. I must say that overall you see that the whole world works and that even the differences between the big countries and the smaller countries was not as big as expected. The reduced number of players helps a little bit in that. But as well that the intensity of the tournament was very high in every single game, the commitment of the players. This game favourises a lot the intensity of the concentration of the players, so they developed that as well. The technical level was very high and overall we have seen situations from one side to the other side very quick. This formula cuts The patience that is needed in the 11 against 11, because if we win the ball, you can straightaway be dangerous. And that keeps the attention of the fans. What I feel is a great joy, a great satisfaction with... The sense of having fulfilled the duty and of having helped these players to have achieved something so beautiful and that they will remember all their lives. That even if one day they are absolute world champions or Olympic champions, they will always remember. Therefore, I think that FIFA has to bet on this format, this tournament, because living these experiences with players from all over the world has no price. Well, the strength of this team is the illusion.
