We're talking about Julian Sane being down.
We're talking, you know, who's going to be the next quarterback.
Is it Luke Feighy?
Is it Tavian St. Clair?
You know, Tavian has all these attributes.
You know, why was the Feighy the one that went in?
And we're diagramming all that and talking through it all.
But in the midst of all these things, I always like to go.
To the betting markets and to see exactly what they're telling us,
because people can
make these predictions.
They can talk about stuff and say, well, I like this team.
I like that team.
And I like this game.
I like that game.
But are you going to put your money where your mouth is?
And right now.
Given where we're at in college football,
this went to one of the betting sites, popped up for me,
FanDuel, doesn't matter, go pick yours.
I chucked a couple of others just because I thought it was broken
to make sure.
But Ohio State was the odds-on favorite at one of the other ones I saw.
FanDuel's got Georgia plus 470,
Ohio State plus 500, tied with Notre Dame.
Tim, you lose your starting quarterback, which we...
Become accustomed to it.
That's the only position that really impacts the spread.
And you're going to a true freshman.
And Ohio State is still within the margin of error,
the favorite to potentially win the national championship.
When they have USC, they have Oregon, a ranked Northwestern,
a Nebraska team that's decent,
and a Michigan team that may have found something with Tommy Carr.
I'm not.
There's people coming out saying they won't even make the playoff.
And there's still the odds.
One of the,
one of the odds on favorites,
if not,
maybe the odds on favorite at some books to win.
Explain that to me.
Well,
I mean,
who's it going to be?
You know,
it's funny because before we knew the official diagnosis of saying,
we all knew he was going to be out,
but we didn't know it would be more than likely the rest of the year.
I put out a tweet on Sunday or Monday.
Pointing out four different sportsbooks, and three of them had
Notre Dame as the betting favorite to win the national title.
And as you would imagine, off of their loss at BYU
and being as polarizing as they are, it was a, this is a mistake.
And I'm like, I wouldn't bet it, but who is supposed
to be the betting favorite to win the title right now?
Let's run through it.
Georgia just lost as a 19-point favorite at home to Auburn.
I would have Georgia as an ever-so-slight favorite.
But you look at Notre Dame,
they look like they have some warts and some issues.
You lose on the road as a 10.5-point favorite to BYU.
And then we go down the list.
As you pointed out, Ohio State loses their starting quarterback,
but still has a ton of talent on that roster.
Also, running back room is banged up.
Offensive line has been a little bit banged up.
Indiana lost at home to Ohio State.
It was by a footstep, but still lost that game at home.
You look at Miami.
Okay, Miami won, but they also needed double overtime,
a fortunate holding call that went their way
against a Florida State team, guys,
that's going to have to scratch and claw to get to a bowl game.
So you just kind of look around this year.
You're like, I don't know, right?
Alabama got exposed this past week,
and when they went on the road to Tennessee and lost that game,
so they now have two losses.
Like Ole Miss, okay, I think Ole Miss is good,
You know, you look at the point spread
this week, and I'm sure we'll get into it.
That line is kind of spooky, right?
They're an underdog at Texas at night,
and they could be looking at two losses.
You know, I've talked to a bunch of people
that I respect their opinion on, you know,
power ratings and whatnot, and they're kind of buying in a rise of LSU.
Okay, I can listen to it, but LSU has two losses.
Their schedule in November is very challenging.
So there's a reality that LSU doesn't make the playoff.
It's fun to talk about.
And when you look at the betting board, to your point, Bobby,
bringing it back to Ohio State.
I know that you guys are locked in on the Buckeyes,
and I'm more of a peripheral from
out here, but even with Fahey or St. Clair,
who it may be, you still have to have them
up there because of the talent that's on that roster
and just the rest of the country is
in a collective kind of shoulder shrug of like,
I don't know, what's going to happen
here?
I mean, is there a reality, guys,
that we could see three Big 12 teams make the college
football playoff?
I don't think so, but it's not impossible.
What if Utah beats BYU,
BYU's 11-1 guys with a win over Notre Dame, Utah loses the Big
12 championship to an undefeated Texas Tech or something like that?
There are crazy scenarios, and I think that's what makes it fun.
This year, it's chaotic, and it also makes it a little fascinating.
One last thing I wanted to point out to you guys,
because Bobby, I thought when you came
on SEC Network Primetime Tuesday night, I thought you made some good points.
Hey, Julian Sain was a Heisman finalist.
I do think there's a collective nationally,
and I don't know where you guys are at.
Nationally, I feel like there's
a collective like, it's not that big a deal.
You know, they'll be fine.
It's Ohio State.
I did have one odds maker on last night from DraftKings
who said he dropped Ohio State
in his personal power ratings,
four and a half points as of now because of the loss
of Julian Sayen.
So that's just one man's opinion.
That's not the whole betting market, but that's a guy who...
You know, makes lines, and his number came down four and a half points
with the loss of Julian Sainz.
