Raccoons are insane

The raccoons here love to mess with the skunks. We think they're insane. Watch this video and tell us if you don't agree.

Maybe it's playfulness? Maybe it's bravado? Or maybe they really are crazy? Whatever the deal is, there's nothing that intrigues the raccoons more than a nice, fluffy skunk tail, and they'll take extraordinary risks to handle one.

If the skunk tolerates tail pulling, the next indignity is likely to be a raccoon nose poked right into its nether regions, followed by a clammy little hand.

Skunks have a reputation for crankiness, but we've never yet seen one spray a raccoon who is taking the most extraordinary liberties. And we've watched this ridiculous performance dozens of times.

Raccoons really are insane.
