Kelvin Wave VS Hotel
Oct 31, 2026
Definitely don't want to be stuck in here on the set.
Oh my god, dude!
Where's Dashiell?
We're gonna try and get a couple off the surf and sand wall.
It's definitely treacherous.
It sure is.
I'm starting to speak now.
Are you gonna get out there, Bruna?
I wish.
Oh, actually!
It looks kinda doable.
Oh, yes!
You can get off your board right there.
I'm not doing it.
Just walk straight home.
so yeah on the low tide it's about a six
or seven foot drop off that rock to the beach
you can see how deep it is the wall wave
the wall the wall it's going to be off the wall
Off the wall.
Off the wall style out here.
i believe that's a sandpiper the poor guy doesn't have any sand
so he's roaming around the rocks he looks
so lost in the house apparently that deck
had beach on it literally had sand blown up onto
the deck and onto the roof
You said that there's sand on the top deck of this house.
That's insane.
Look at this deck.
Oh no.
Just destroyed.
Look at how much it's gone up here.
It's crazy, right?
Yes.
That poor home is just gone, huh?
Didn't get any maintenance.
Wow.
Ha ha ha ha ha!
It's truly a pool.
Looks like it was planned.
To be
alive.
Hannah's filming. This is Skylar.
It's going to be nuclear down here. We're two hours out from
high tide and it's already exploding
into the splash zone. Okay, you're right. That one was
gnarly. Skylar,
you were right.
You were right.
I know how
these guys like
their burritos.
My mosquito's wet.
I got a lot of confidence
in the dry burritos.
I thought you were going to get it.
I have new leather boots!
No, true.
Just before her date, too.
It'll be good down there, though.
Going out into the minefield.
Yikes.
You going to go surfing?
Are you surfing?
There's some logs out there floating around.
It's an obstacle course.
That was
insane.
Backwashes are looking like they're starting up right now.
We had a buddy of ours surf this the other day.
Kalani surfed it yesterday and we're gonna try and
get a couple off the surf and sand wall.
It's looking a little treacherous. It's definitely
treacherous. There's a lot of stuff under the water right now
so we should be able to get a
We'll probably get a couple back washes though.
Just got to stay away from that part where the wave hits the wall.
Don't be there.
You're going to be all right.
You should be all right.
Don't get caught in the surge.
This is actually more sand down here than I think.
It seems like it's pushing up the cover.
Now it's a little bit more off, but the sand's kind of coming back.
That one has like a nail sticking out of it.
Some wall must have broken down.
Those are like those are looking like the same four by fours.
You can beat this thing up. You ready for this?
Dash, you were the first to get after the backwash
action? He was the originator.
Backwash and then there's the next wave after it, right? Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
Oh, you're gonna try to back flip the next one. Wow, I like it.
Is Billy coming down? Yes. Where is he?
Hey, Billy's working on the scientific
It's the end of the wave.
we're gonna go jump off the jump off this road into the water
Oh, hi.
is it back washing oh yeah dude this looks kind of slippery right here
That's weird.
the stairway to the promised land how
the hell did this rock get up here
Up here.
You got tennis.
Now you're not going to put it out.
Come on.
Ugh.
I'm about to shoot it back at you.
oh boy hey there's actually some sand oh yeah warm it up warm it up
Cover it up.
Bye.
i gotta get my flippers on bro kicker's gone
Oh, yeah, we're in a danger zone.
This is the danger zone.
The wall spot. Oh, oh. Oh, my God.
It hurts.
That's
my
duck,
dude.
You
got
stuck
in
there?
Oh,
my
God.
You're kind of like...
Oh, my God. That set was real. That was heavy.
Bro, I was worried for you. It was like,
no, I kept putting my hand like in case I
was gonna hit the wall. Yeah, yeah.
I'm glad you're good.
They're really good.
We're in the danger zone right here,
but look at, they boarded up our hole.
They boarded up the hole.
Degenerates over there.
Wombering.
You definitely don't want to be stuck in here on a set.
Is
it
outside
or
no?
All right, they let me in.
Outside of the Splash's restaurant.
They're closed outside because of the waves.
Splash's restaurant gets splashed.
Oh my god.
Right
behind me
is, like
right here
is a new
retaining
wall
that they
just built.
Actually, it looks like it's holding up pretty well.
Pelicans and Bruna.
I hit
the
wall
over
there
super
hard.
Pretty
good
one.
Get that one, and that one,
and get out of here.
Oh my
gosh.
That first set that you lost your board on?
Yeah, that caught all of us off guard.
Dashiell was stuck in like the death trap
where he couldn't go out because he was getting pushed in.
Then a wave would hit him and he'd get pushed back out.
He was a little spooked for a second there.
I couldn't duck dive a wave so I let my board go.
And I did not want to get sucked back into the wall
so I let my board go.
It just got smoked into the wall.
And Dash broke the board.
Let's move forward.
My board came out surprisingly unscathed.
That's pretty good, all things considered.
Pretty good.
I have all my fins in still.
I'm kind of lucky.
It's like really tiring to go back and forth, back and forth.
But pretty damn worth it.
That was fun.
We might go check the crack now.
Let's get cracking.
Look at the carnage on this board.
Oh!
Nose.
The crunch.
That's called a flip tip.
That's actually a rocker.
Yeah, it's faster, dude.
Look at that thing.
Dude, hey.
You know what, though?
This guy's alive?
He survived.
You survived.
This is scary.
You're in the danger zone.
Don't show your wife that.
Man versus danger.
His muscles though, you just push off that wall dude,
like there was a dent in the wall.
Oh my, look at this.
There's a wood wedged into my board.
I got a full splinter.
Hey, it's pretty common to get splinters in your board.
It's common.
Bro, that's metal.
Shrapnel.
That's metal.
That's gnarly.
I don't even know how to...
Are you up to date on your tetanus?
Yeah, I got my tetanus, actually.
You got your tetanus?
I'm good tetanus, too.
It is looking a whole lot different down here.
Looks like they've done a really good job of building a sand
and trap bag barrier
on the north end of the cliff,
and then they still have a good portion left to build all that stuff.
But it's coming along quite nice.
I think it's doing a pretty dang good job of blocking waves
from hitting the bottom. You can see where waves
are washing up on the part that they haven't put
all the bags, and it's washing up to the base
and kind of messing it up, maybe leading to a little
bit of erosion. But then on the north end of it,
there's backwashes coming off of the bags,
and there's even some sand accumulating
at the base of the bag, sand and boulders.
So it seems like there's a really good buffer
for to protect from waves washing into the cliff
and we also have a another kind of cool insight that we learned.
They're measuring if the part of
the bluff that has fractured off is moving at all
by two stakes that they put in the ground.
So they put a stake right below PCH in the stable ground
or where the ground shouldn't be moving and
then they put a stake on the part of the bluff that is fractured off
and they're measuring that
to make sure that the bluff doesn't continue to slide down.
Apparently like a week and a half ago.
The measurement between those two stakes was 88 inches
and then someone confirmed that just
yesterday that those that measurement is still the same 88 inches
so the bluff is not moving anymore
that fracture is not falling anymore hopefully.
Sounds like it's in a pretty good condition right
now and I think as soon as they finish the rest
of the trap bag projects that thing is going to be
Pretty stable and
um will be a good temporary fix until the next phase is started.
Holy crap, we've got a new
development and it's below the Ritz-Carlton at Salt Creek.
Looks like there's a legit fracture
in the bluff. Someone just sent it to me
so we're gonna drive down there and see what's going on but
kind of seems like California's falling
into the water these days man it's just been...
Pretty insane we've been getting hit
so hard with those king tides all the swell that we had this
summer and the Kelvin waves it's like everything's just piling
on top of each other and yeah I don't
it doesn't even make sense why there's a crack right here
because there's a road in between the
ocean and the cliff so waves shouldn't be washing up
into the cliff as far as I'm concerned.
Um, so yeah, I really have no idea what's going on down here,
but we're going to go
see if we can check it out.
Haven't been down the creek in a long time,
but it is crazy to see how much sand is gone
and just all of the erosion from this summer.
Um, I'm going to show you what it looks like,
but right behind me is that little road that
goes out to the Salt Creek Point and all along it,
it looks like the dirt has eroded and
that's probably why.
There's a fracture in that cliff up there
and my guess is that that is actually pretty new.
It looks precarious too.
This one looks like when it falls it's gonna just fall down and
like end up on the road
so something to keep an eye out on for sure. So this is the
the road and you can tell like all of this is freshly crumbling.
That rock got dislodged
from here and then here's
that new fracture right here right up there on the cliff.
And that looks sketchy, like that's for sure going to go.
And when it does, it's just going to end up right
on the path right there probably.
Alright, I don't really know what type of rock this is.
But this is, looks like there's a lot of like slough
and stuff coming off this thing.
And my guess is that there's going to be more
to come down this winter for sure.
So I would not stand down here.
Don't stand here.
not a good idea. plants and stuff that have
been here forever in dirt they no longer have any dirt
to hold on to so these things are probably not doing
so hot when the salt water is washing up
soon my guess is that the king tides and uh king tides
and the little bit of waves we've had have
been making it up this far a lot
of boulders down here too just cracks everywhere down here
the salt creek point looks like
All of this stuff has kind of recently gotten sucked into the ocean.
King tides are doing a doozy on this.
