New Water Level Record in Huntington Beach
Oct 30, 2026
Here it comes. This is the trickle.
This was all nice and dry an hour ago.
Oh no, he's coming towards me.
A whole bay coming into the street right now.
I'm starting to speak now.
That's bad.
Up to his waist.
All the way onto the street.
I'm with you. Don't miss.
Would be pretty legendary if you caught a fish off of PCH.
Indeed.
I'm following the report.
Checking out a new lowland today
and we're an hour before high tide right now.
So we haven't quite seen the flooding yet
and hopefully it's not as bad today as it was yesterday.
Today is kind of the last day of the king tides
and we're checking out like the search side zone,
Huntington Harbor zone. Just going to be walking around.
PCH I guess flooded really bad yesterday.
So yeah we're going to see how how it holds up today.
I think they also are a little bit more prepared today with those pumps
and some sandbags and
and all the good stuff uh
but apparently this this area is really really hard to protect um
there's just so many so many holes and it's it lays
so low below the the sea level especially
on the high tides we're getting right now that's why
this street hits it so bad look at there's
nothing nothing holding
that thing back yeah you can literally see water starting to flow in
Straight to the street.
How much man? No way dude. How you doing? Good.
Checking it out. Here it comes. The tide is rising.
The trickle. This is the trickle.
This is gonna be a river rapid.
936. It is a 7.67 right now
and the predicted was 6.38. Holy moly.
Yesterday I hit an 8.13 at the Long Beach Harbor.
and the predicted was a 6.8 you can already see
the water level is so high never as long as i've
lived here i've never seen water all
the way across good people surfboarding through here
all right yeah paddle boarding down the street
so insane look at these fish
Fish.
I think that one's ready to go in a minute.
I don't think that one's ready to go in a minute.
I don't think that one's ready to go in a minute.
It's a full bay.
coming into the street right now hey you know come back i'll
be hanging around here
How much higher the water
is compared to the stream?
A lot of sandbags to be seen.
Just the straight bay overflowing.
Wow.
There's a bench and a trash can right there.
This is normally a beach.
The whole bay connects to the street.
It was a drain
to the bay.
The drain is not working too good today.
Yeah, so they're a little bit more prepared today with
traffic coming through here.
Apparently they blocked off both sides of PCH, so
there won't be any cars.
No Amazon deliveries today. No Teslas exploding.
Floating.
That's the most amazing
video we've ever got.
30 minutes out from high tide.
They said they've got six pumps going each one pumping 500 gallons
a minute which means
3,000 gallons a minute. It's no stop in the ocean.
It's just insane to see how like the water level
gets to a certain height and then everywhere just kind of fails
or like it's just so much
water inundating an area
so it goes from being dry to being flooded in like a matter of minutes.
Right now.
We got a low flyer.
Man, up to the garage doors,
how much water is coming from out of this street.
There's just
choppers everywhere.
So apparently this is worse than yesterday.
You have this whole street flooded
and it's as deep as knee deep in some parts.
And apparently there was one neighbor
or one person who removed some sandbags.
And that's why this street is so flooded today.
I guess it's worse than it was yesterday.
Super
bummer.
It's about at peak high tide right now.
TH is getting flooded again.
Gosh.
Pretty soon we're gonna have to set sail
in one of these
bad boys.
This guy's stoked.
Ah, good.
Crazy
now.
Connected through.
Oh,
man.
This has just turned into an actual river from the bay.
Oh my God.
Before it was like a little waterfall,
now it's just
flowing over
directly
from the bay.
That's bad.
No, look
at this
house.
Check this out.
The end of this street is getting it from all directions.
Through
there,
through
there.
Forget boots on the ground journalism.
This is rain boots on the ground journalism.
This was all nice and dry about an hour ago.
Look
at this.
Guys are kayaking higher than
the road right now.
Friends at the pump house.
Let's see what this trip is.
There's the kayaks in the water.
Check back in on these things.
Kayaks are in the water.
Everyday California.
This is going to be a lot of days in California this El Nino, I think.
It's not even raining.
There's not even waves. This guy's fishing.
Would be pretty legendary if he caught a fish off of PCH.
Can't make
this stuff up.
They're still
trying over here.
Any bites?
This is insane. Give me an update, where you been?
I lost you on the other side of the river.
Yeah, we did the divide and conquer technique.
I went back to kind of where we started over there
and uh I mean most of PCH is flooded now.
There's like full just rivers of water going into the
street. I captured some,
I mean there's just hilarious stuff going on everywhere. Dogs swimming,
and dudes fishing in the street, it's just...
Full chaos out here,
pretty bizarre to just see like this beautiful of a day, sunny, nice,
and you're still experiencing this bad of flooding.
Hopefully this is the last day.
I think they're going to get some flooding again tomorrow,
but this is probably the last
bad day of flooding. Oh, I see him, two fish, two swimmers.
These guys are fishing.
I got him.
Check it out,
Michael Myers.
That's awesome.
Oh no, he's coming towards me.
That's the extra squadron in the house.
Don't do it!
That scared me.
I paddled from Davenport marina and I'm exhausted.
Yeah!
As you know, I have a big event coming up at the end of the month,
so I figured this would be a good opportunity to do some training.
Hmm.
Looking strong. I think Jason's coming right behind me.
I don't know what I need.
Brent, you got it good. The iced coffee, the gimbal. What's it like?
This is the real life, you know, fancy.
I don't see it.
One day I'll be like you. You set and sail?
He may be able to skimboard on the craziest place you've ever seen,
but he can't ride a paddleboard.
Can't do it all.
Mad props to Daniel's son right now, look at that.
Dude, I think this thing doesn't have a fin, it's got a little bump.
Yeah, true.
That's my excuse.
I turn my back and I see him coming at me.
I don't know.
Oh my gosh, we've made it on the paddleboard.
Look at how deep this guy is right here.
Up to his waist in water.
That street's just underwater.
Too
long.
Alright, we're outside of the high tide now.
Probably 30 minutes after high tide and...
These houses are still completely flooded.
Yeah, the water does not seem to be receding yet.
Probably is slightly, but yeah, it's pretty nuts right now.
PCH is totally flooded.
That's the house that has it really bad.
Look at that.
All the way onto the street.
I think Skylar is shooting some other streets,
so we'll check back in with her and see where
she's at.
It's a little bubble.
Kind
of.
I do.
You can
have
your
paddleboard
back.
Rock and roll.
Rock and roll, buddy.
Thank you.
Damage control.
It really is just awful for all these houses.
Such a bummer.
Water's
coming all
the way over PCH.
Looks like we might have a...
fire call over here. So hey,
thank you for all the videos you're doing. It's helping all of
what's happening in different communities.
Something everybody should know. We had the
big flood in here on Sunset Island yesterday
and we had an electrical fire in the middle of the
street. The reason is when those lithium batteries get salt water
on them, it wasn't even plugged in.
It was in the box, unused, not being charged,
and it still started a fire. It could have
burned down the house. If your stuff gets wet
and it's a lithium battery,
First of all, don't get it wet, but get it the hell out of the house.
It's a good chance it'll catch on fire.
Yeah, that's good to know.
That's insane.
Both sides of BCH.
It's good.
That's a caution.
High voltage sign over
this high of tide.
Yeah.
I'm down to make their make their grand migration.
This is where it gets real easy.
Yeah.
How fast the water's moving down the street.
We're way at sea
level right now.
There's a full stream going through this.
First-in-side yard. Oh my god. Flooded for blocks.
What's up dude? What's up?
So sad.
Pumping, not doing anything.
Oh my gosh, you can just see
straight through this street.
It just looks like the bay extends through the sandbags.
Something I'm noticing about these high tides
and the timing of them in the bays I think that
they're a little delayed
so right now it seems like it's the most flooded and we're almost an
hour after the high tide
but those those predictions again are for the ocean and
the beaches really so it's possible that we're seeing
the peak high tides here a little later
than you would at the beach or ocean.
backyard
is
flooded.
Almost
knee deep
in here.
So heavy.
Battle
boarding
BCH.
50 miles to the start facing the second drop here.
I unfortunately had to abandon
the boots because there's
no way to get across
to the car. They opened it back up
so it drains back into the bay now
that the tide's lower.
They pulled
the sandbags.
The tide's changing.
Good Samaritan.
Love to see that. A hero.
Tides dropping.
I dropped fast.
That's Boyer after he loses his flip-flops in the outgoing tide.
That is crazy.
So much water. The light
looks insane right now.
Right now.
We're acting awful.
It's nuts how the water is that clear.
Like the day water is super pretty.
I'm chasing blood.
My brain is kind
of Kelden waved out.
But yeah so today
we checked out
the Surfside and Sunset Beach area north of Huntington.
We're right around the Huntington
And they had really bad flooding yesterday,
which was, what was yesterday, the 26th, 27th,
so yesterday was the peak of these king tides, and today was about
an inch or two less, but still some insanely bad flooding.
There's a lot of low-lying areas there where
the bay was just coming up over
over people's yards and into the street
and PCH was completely covered in water.
They had PCH shut down at one point.
Yeah, so I think that's going to be the last day.
Bad flooding for California.
The tides are going back into the neap tide cycle.
What we just experienced was a spring tide cycle.
And there's so many reasons why
this tide cycle was more elevated than normal.
And I feel like I'm learning more about
the tides than I ever thought I'd know.
But on top of the Kelvin wave,
there's also a moon cycle right now that happens every 18.6 years.
Where the moon's actually like...
A little bit closer to earth.
I just learned about this kind of recently.
So the tides are actually more dramatic because of the wobble of the
moon. Moon being closer to earth having a
stronger gravitational pull. And yeah we just have warm water,
thermal expansion, the Kelvin wave which is pretty much
as bad as the Kelvin wave will ever get right now.
I think those are kind of the main things.
But yeah, we're going into November, December,
where we have even stronger king tides.
Maybe, I think they're about a foot
or a couple inches higher than the ones we just had now.
And everyone's concerned as if it's paired with big waves
and if it's paired with weather of any sort.
And we might all have to jump in Noah's Ark right here.
Noah's Ark's getting delivered to my house right now.
I'm done.
Yeah.
Watching all the chaos that's happening,
I'm almost certain there's going to be more
incredible and historical stuff to come.
We do have some waves to look forward to this weekend.
Thankfully those waves aren't
paired with really big tides or else we'd have some serious problems.
There aren't any beaches really still in Laguna and there's
they're still working day in day out at the Wedge
and on the Baja Peninsula to
build those berms and and prevent the ocean from
reaching those houses. So it'll
be interesting to see what happens with the
swell that we're supposed to get on Sunday, Monday and
all that fun stuff. So definitely things to um
definitely some waves to look forward to and action in the forecast.
Weather
and waves paired with a king tide, yeah.
