Hi and welcome or welcome back to my channel, Yana the Barn.
My name is Manon and I'm a programmer,
author, girl and a knitter
and it's of course the knitting that we talk about here. I'm of course
joined by Archie who is very very sleepy
so he might disappear out of the frame soon. I'm sorry
if he does. But Archie is here, Archie says hi.
Oh there you go you actually do say hi,
that's lovely. I think lots
of you think you're going to enjoy seeing Archie.
So thanks for all the comments about him, that's really nice.
For today, what I wanted to do is something
that I said I would do at some point this
year, and it's a pattern roundup of scarves,
because I really like scarves.
I rarely leave the house in autumn, spring,
winter without a scarf, possibly even in summer,
that's how bad it is.
So I really like them.
I'm not knitting nearly enough of them but I have quite a bit of a list
of patterns I would like to knit
and I'd like to knit at least one in early winter and possibly
a second one.
So I'll talk you through the ones that I am wanting to knit.
Let's be honest,
I have lots of plans. I don't always get
to knit everything I would want to.
So let's dive in. I've got, I mean,
about 19 patterns and you're going to see,
okay Archibald, you want to sit with your head on the table? Okay.
Doesn't seem like the most comfortable thing, but whatever.
Let's see, about 19 patterns.
about 19 patterns and you're going
to see why it's about because some of them
I've already talked about in previous pattern roundups
because there were new releases
so we're only going to cover them like very quickly now
but if this is the first video
of mine that you're seeing then I did not want you
to miss out on some really really beautiful
So grab yourself some nice warm drink
and some knitting.
Okay, we're gonna start with a lot of scarves that I do like,
so that I'll mention in this roundup,
are kind of variations of the Sophie scarf.
And the Sophie scarf was not the first scarf
out there to be shaped like that, but it's the most well known. So
what I mean by that is some sort of triangular-ish shape
that has pointy ends and is not the
traditional rectangular scarf.
But we're going to start with like a traditional looking one.
This is the Snowflake Scarf by, oh,
I'm going to butcher names again today, I'm so sorry.
Trigger warning, in advance.
I might not pronounce everything
the way it's supposed to be pronounced.
But the Snowflake Scarf by Ngo Quyen
is going to be on the screen.
So I hope I didn't do too bad of a job.
Something that I think is really, really beautiful.
I should have thought if you want to really knit an actual...
big scarf. I mean there's some well-known scarves like
that so for example the Berlin scarf it's a
beautiful big scarf.
I didn't mention the super well-known ones in here because I think they
already get enough attention so yeah why talk about them again
but this is one that I haven't
seen much. It's already been out for more than
a year it's been released in November 2024
I was born in 1924.
And it has only two projects on Ravelry.
It deserves more. So the way this one is made
is actual stranded color work and you knit in the
round so it's not double knitted but the tube
and it has the snowflake on both sides so that
when you wear it well if you manage to align
your scarf correctly it will show a complete snowflake
and I mean you can go wild with the colors I think. Thanks for snoring
in my video pop-in. That's so lovely!
But yeah, there's so many options.
You can make it super wintry by pairing white and blue,
or you can go a bit more Christmassy.
I like that they didn't use a super Christmas red
in the pictures on Ravelry. That sort of orangey red
beads a tiny bit autumn, but paired with a snowflake. It's really nice.
And then I'm not really a pom-pom girl.
I mean, as a kid, I used to love making them.
I don't know where they've all gone.
Maybe my parents still have them somewhere in a box
hidden in the attic.
I think it looks very wintry and very fun
so if you can wear this if it fits your style I think
it's a really cool idea to have the pom-poms instead
of um what would you call it like a
fringe um at the end of the scarf but you could
also do it without um if you knit this for a kid
definitely go for the pom-poms
but they will get ripped off ripped off unfortunately knowing kids
that like to like touch things
and yeah things happen and I'm quickly to wrap up
This one, it comes in English, it's for one size only.
This suggested yarn is an Aran weight yarn to be knitted on 5mm needles,
so that's the US8.
However, I mean, and this goes for every pattern
in this roundup, it's a scarf.
So use different yarns, use different needles,
and it's not like it's not going to fit.
So whatever you want as a result, go for that.
And then it would cost you €4.84
and as always I will put the pattern prices
in Euros and in Dollars so that you can see both.
Then on to one of the three, if I remember correctly, like rectangular
shaped scarves and this is the Dottie Scarf by Caitlin Bartels
Which on socials is known as originally lovely.
This is a really nice, I would say,
it's not beginner-friendly as in not your first project,
but I think if you've knitted a couple things
and you want to try your hand
at double knitting but with a twist, let me go for this one, it's
double knitted with two different colors
and so when you are knitting one side the other side
and so when you want to do the little dots you use
the yarn on this side to go to the other side
and the yarn that was on this side
to go to the other side
and that's how you get the dots in opposite colors.
You could probably also just do this without buying
the pattern if you have a bit more experience,
but if you don't I think it's quite well explained
and so it might be nice to have a little bit of
hand-holding. And it looks really simple but nice.
It's a reversible design which is not true for
every pattern in this roundup so kudos for that.
This one was published in January 2021. I think
I think it's going to be old.
I think this is the oldest pattern in this roundup
and it has 48 projects on Ravelry.
It would cost you €3.87
and the suggested yarn is an Aran weight yarn to be knitted
I'm going to hit it up on 4.5mm needles, so that's the US 7.
But yeah, you could do like a small.
version of this. It only has like instructions for one size
but it's a rectangular shape so I mean
go wild. It comes in English
and then the one thing to pay attention to this one
compared to other scarves it's double knitted
so it uses twice the amount of yarn so maybe a little
bit less of a stash busting project if you just have one
or two skeins left from another project
because you have to pair it with a different color
the same weight yarn preferably.
Um, so you have to be a little bit more careful.
And then the next one, this is the sort of
last rectangular one. You'll see in a minute why.
Uh, this is the beeswax scarf by Amy Vandelaar,
that's Baroque pearls.
And I mean, the texture of this is just fantastic. I mean, look at it.
I mean, you understand the name beeswax straight away
when you see it because of the little hexagon
shapes. Yeah. Yeah. It is octagon.
My brain is still working. That was good to know.
But I like that it's not just the little hexagons,
I like that there's also something in them
that gives them like this 3D effect,
so on the pictures at certain angles it really looks
like it's like something 3D is happening there
and I think it's really gorgeous.
Also the colour helps to tie in the bee wax theme.
If you don't want the association to be as strong as on the...
Sample pictures, go for a different colour
and I mean this is going to look good in any colour.
This one, oh no, this is the oldest pattern.
I was wrong, I'm sorry. This pattern was released
in February 2017. Wow, it's been a while
and I mean the amount of projects 312 tell you that
it's been out there for some time and that it is a popular pattern.
It would cost you
6 euros and 77 cents.
And the suggested yarn is a worsted weight yarn
to be knitted up on 4.5 mm needles at the US.
In fact, I'm going to have to,
I'm finishing my Highland sweater at the moment.
I only have the Italian bind off on the hem left to do,
which I hope to be able to do tonight.
I've got a really, really busy day,
but I hope that I can finish tonight.
And then I'm going to have quite a few skeins left.
I think it would look gorgeous because it's this chartreuse
color and it will look beautiful in this and it
is a worsted weight yarn but i would pair it with
the mohair which is going to take away from the texture a little bit
but can't wear the two
together really maybe anyway enough blah blah let's move
to the next one which is the first
one that is not a rectangular shape
and i absolutely love this one i want to make it i don't
know when but i do want to make it and i
also want to try the yarn from the yarn company that
This is the Isla shawl by Biche Buché
Which is, I think, a Norwegian or Swedish family that moved to France
and set up a yarn business from France
And I just love this.
It's like, it's super simple, like shape-wise.
Is it really a scarf or more like a neckerchief
or whatever those things are called? I'm not sure.
But I'm gonna say it fits in this pattern roundup
because it's gorgeous
I love that it's colourwork
which does mean it's not really reversible
You can if you have really neat floats, you can
But yeah it's supposed to be worn with the bright side out
but yeah it's it's very it's a very simple
design like the colorway but I think that's the beauty of it
and it definitely to me it really
reads Norwegian as a non-Norwegian at least
so maybe I'm completely wrong but
it reads Scandinavian wool garment hand knitted
and I mean obviously I love it
This one is a pattern that was released this year,
so it was released in March 2025
It has 300 projects on Ravelry already
I mean, I'm obviously not the only one loving this one.
It would cost you six euros
and the suggested yarn is one of their own yarns, of course
is Lupetti Lambswool
which I have seen other people using and it looks quite
nice yarn this year. I will talk about that
I've gone a bit crazy in Excel
and made lots of charts of how much yarn I've bought and how much
I've used and, well, I've been nerding
but I'll share that with you next week and it basically
means I'm not allowed to buy any yarn in the foreseeable future
but this one is definitely
on the list for when I am allowed again.
Anyway, Lupiti Lambswool is a fingering weight yarn
And you are supposed to do this pattern on 3.5 mm needles or U.S.
Be careful that with colour work a lot of people knit tighter
so you might want to do a gauge swatch just to be sure
that it works if you don't use the suggested yarn
or if you want to make sure that it's going to have
the exact dimensions that it mentions in the pattern.
And then last but not least,
it's supposed to just be one size so there's not multiple.
options and it comes in a lot of languages
so if you don't want it to be in English you
can choose Danish, French, German, Japanese,
Korean, Norwegian, Spanish, Russian.
And then the next one is a pattern I want to mention
because the Sophie Scarf is still
a very very popular pattern out there,
however, who hasn't knitted it yet?
If you haven't, congratulations,
you're one of the only people on earth that haven't,
that isn't a knitter.
There's like basically the exact same thing that
already existed.
It's called The Simple Thing by Mette Wendelboe Okkelsen and it's free.
So if you haven't
bought, if you're one of those few people
that hasn't bought the Sophie Scarf pattern,
that wants to knit something that looks like the Sophie Scarf
or that sort of wants that pattern
but in order to change it to make your own modification
but you want to have the basic
increase rate for example or how to do the cast on or the cast off.
which is something that I needed to look up
when I knit my version of this.
This is perfect because it's free and then you have a basis
and you can use that to do whatever
you want with it. So yeah this one was released in December 2022
and I mean hold on to your pants
It's got 4,323 projects on Ravelry.
And yeah, I've knitted this one.
Very start of this year, sort of started last year and I finished it.
He's a...
No, I didn't do it this year.
It was 2024 next year. It doesn't really count.
Anyway, super easy instructions.
It has some YouTube videos as well that you can follow.
And yeah, I mean, nothing bad to say about this pattern.
And it's lovely that
for something that is so simple,
which has been some of the complaints.
About the Sophie scarf from PetiteKnit, like,
I know people have said it's so simple, you should not ask money
for this, which, to which I would say, if it's that simple,
then you don't need a pattern, so then you don't have to buy it,
but also don't share it, don't share a paid pattern with other people,
but so here you go, this one is free.
Anyway, enough about that, because that's a whole different subject.
And I'm just...
stats of this pattern um it goes to what
is suggested with a dk the pattern pictures are
with the dk and it's knitted on a 4.5 millimeter needle that's the us7
but i mean you can use
whatever to make what you want with it
but i mean you can do this i think i used the dk
with the mohair so it ended up being quite chunky
Which is why I want to knit some other scarves
because I only have this quite
chunky thing that I end up folding double
because otherwise it is too big.
But I mean, you knit and you learn, don't you?
It comes in four different languages,
English, Dutch, French and German.
And then sort of branching from this, like,
here's your free pattern, Grow Wild, come here.
Yeah.
This has like the standard I-cord.
Finish along the edges but if you want to do something different
then this is another free
pattern that you can use to change it up a bit
which is something I have been wanting to do
because I think it looks amazing.
This is a pattern for the die stitch edge scarf by Asiya Brill and
it's a different way of doing an edging
and I saved this like a long time ago so I can't
So I can't remember the exact.
Explanation of how this is done,
but it's a different way of doing the selvedge on a knit
and it's going to give you like a much tighter finish of stitches
because you basically instead of going down to the previous row
to knit, you go down one row underneath. It's something like that.
I mean, she has entire videos explaining this, so I'm not going
to try to do it because I'm probably going to mess it up.
This is a good one to reference in order to find those videos.
And she also has a website.
on which she explains this quite extensively.
It's been a year since I looked at it,
so I can't quite remember why it's on it.
But just in case you do want to knit this scarf,
I mean it's basically the rectangular version
of a Sophie scarf with a nicer edge. So you can
find it on Ravelry, I'll include the link below
with the other patterns. And then to quickly go
over the stats, this one was released in October 2019,
has 157 projects on Ravelry.
And the suggested yarn is an Aran weight yarn, knitted on 4.5mm needles.
Then we move on to actual patterns that I have seen
and that I think are
gorgeous and that I would want to knit,
but actually follow the pattern.
This one is the scalloped scarf by Lena Rix,
so that's the one behind Odro.
And I mean, once again, this is sort of like the triangular,
kind-ish, soapy scarf-ish scarf.
But it has these really beautiful little lace and scalloped details
on the edges. So it's just on the edge, it's not the rest of the scarf,
but that is the bit that you're going to probably wear in the front,
or if it's in the back it could
be really beautiful as well, as long as it's
over your coat or jacket. And I think it's a really nice little
variation. Also this is a pattern that you can get
to apply this to other scarves that you might
So yeah, you can do them as long or wide as you want,
and then just this is the main part of the pattern,
of course, is the finishings are the two tips.
Price-wise, it only says 40 kroner,
so I quickly Google for help,
and it would be 3 euros and 65 cents.
There we go.
You can't buy this one on Ravelry directly
but there's a link on the Ravelry page to the
website of Lene so you can get it there.
It has 33 projects on Ravelry and it was released in
December 2022. Recommended yarn is fingering weight yarn.
Suggests 3mm needles. US 3, I
believe. I know 3.5 is 4 so the half size on that.
And then on to the next one. This is one I have mentioned
in my pattern roundup from the last few weeks.
This is the Ingrid Scarf Mini by Mette Friedbeth
and so if you've already heard me talk about this one
then I always create chapters in my
YouTube videos so you can just skip to the next one
if you don't want to hear this again. But
this is in herringbone stitch
and that is a texture I really really love. It's super simple
but it's just a little bit different from just stockinette.
Also it is reversible which is very
And I have yarn in stash that I want to use for this,
so the Lana Gatto VIP,
of which I have two skeins that I'm going to give away in this video,
because lots of you have commented on my previous video which
was indeed entered in the giveaway, so we're going to finish with that.
Anyway, this one has been released in October 2025,
and it has 11 projects on Ravelry by now.
The suggested yarn is a sport weight yarn
to be knitted on 6mm needles, that's the US 10,
and the reason for the big needles
is that the herringbone stitch is going to get much,
much tighter so you always size up your needles
if you want to knit herringbone stitch. Never do
stockinette and then a few rows of herringbone
and then stockinette again because they will
completely cinch in your work.
Speaking from experience,
Samples have all been knitted in something with cashmere
so I think the yarn that I have is going
to work really quite well with that because
the Lana Gatto VIP is 80% merino and 20% cashmere.
And this pattern I forgot to tell you
that but the price of this one is 5 euros and 50 euros.
And I'm moving to a little garter stitch or how you want to call them
that has a lot of texture
but therefore is not reversible well or not the same way.
You could knit two and then sew them together,
but that's going to result in something very, very big.
But this is the Runestone Scarf by Palafoxia Comforts.
This is a reasonably new pattern, it's been released in October 2025,
and it has zero projects on Ravelry.
I mean on the pattern pictures they don't show a finished version,
maybe that's a little bit why.
I like to see like a finished version like what
is what the edge is going to look like exactly
but I really like the cable on this.
I mean a lot of what I knit so that's a bit of a way isn't it.
But yeah I think this one is really beautiful.
It would cost you four euros and 84 cents
and then it's the suggested yarn
is an Aran weight yarn knitted on a five millimeter needle
So this is going to be.
quite fast. So this one comes in three different sizes.
It has instructions for a small, a medium
and a large in width.
So they don't get wider, they only get longer.
Figure it out yourself.
Anyway, it makes it easier if it's in the pattern.
And then on to the next one. Once again,
I have mentioned this one before in a plan.
I can't remember. I'm getting old guys. My memory
It's not what it was, but it's nothing really good.
Anyway, The Hazel Scarf by Yoon Myung, and I love this one.
I'm going to basically say the same as
I've said before, so once again you can skip
to the next chapter in the video if you don't want
me saying it again. But from a distance
this looks like a really simple little neckerchief,
but if you look closer it has beautiful little details
and I'm in love with it.
This is one of the contenders for a skein of yarn that I bought two days ago,
so whenever I look at it I'm
I'm like, yeah, that one too.
right away
I don't have time today, or for the night. That's not true.
Someday I might have time, so who knows?
Anyway, back to the hazel scarf.
This one was published in November 2025.
It has eight projects on Ravelry.
It would cost you 50 cents,
and at least the sample pictures in the pattern are mixed up
with a fingering weight yarn on a 3.5 mm needle,
so that's the US 4, and it looks like quite a light.
Fingering weight because the gauge is in seed stitch
but still 28 stitches so I have a light
then I think we're halfway I haven't counted
but something like that we move on to the patissiere
scarf by Bernat and oh you're gonna fall off
my lap if you keep going it's a bit difficult to
show him to you but his head is on my knee and it's
He's gonna fall, he's gonna fall off.
I mean I'm holding onto him so he's not gonna fall off but
sometimes I wonder how this is gonna be comfortable
Anyway back to the pâtissière scarf and I don't know,
I like that. Apparently she really likes baking
and pâtissière is pastry, baker, chef,
something like that in French.
I mean the female version of it, the male would be pâtissier but
But she took inspiration from baking croissants.
I made a scarf out of it
and of course if you roll up a Sophie scarf it looks like a croissant
but what I like about what she's done
with this one is that it looks very simple
it's uh basically like it's like ribbing
um but then she's got some interesting lines
breaking up the ribbing and I think that's what is nice
because there's you don't need to follow
a pattern to make this scarf but she's added just enough details
that I think it's worth it if you really
I really like this one, so I'll buy this one.
It's been released in November 2025 so it's
Fresh out of the oven and it will cost you 5 euros and 25 cents.
It has 21 projects on Ravelry
and it's knitted or at least the sample
is knitted with a DK weight yarn
and that is on 3.5 millimeter needles or US4.
It looks like it is rib stitch so
no brioche or half fisherman's rib yeah so that is nice and that also means
Very reversible. I mean of course the little lines are less reversible
but I think they work
quite well. So that's lovely to have like a texture scarf.
So points for that. In the pattern
it has instructions for two different scarf lengths once again.
So I think it will have
extra little crossover lines. And then we move
on to the next one which is sort of two pattern
sort of going to combine them
because we start with the Distance Scarf by Olga Botano and this
one's been on my list for a long time
because I really love the texture on this. Also she has
one of the samples is in a dark green
and I want to knit the exact same one basically because I
think it's absolutely beautiful.
She's also knitted that sample in a Tulle Matin yarn which
which is a hand-dyer based in France that I really love.
She creates the most
beautiful gorgeous colours and I have yarn from her,
not the exact yarn used in this pattern on
the on the sample photo
but a very similar colourway to this and I think it would just
it would just look gorgeous.
But anyway to get back to the pattern a little bit, this one was
published in January 2024,
has 291 projects on Ravelry and it would cost you 8 euros and 23 cents
Which for a scarf, I have to say, is not cheap.
It comes in two different sizes,
so it's not just the length that differs,
one will be a little bit wider than the other.
So the yarn used is a fingering weight yarn.
Thank
One of the pattern pictures, I have to say,
is a yarn that has mohair mixed into it.
And yeah, I think some sort of slightly fluffy yarn
you,
is something I would do for this one,
is what I kind of intend to do.
everyone.
Um, and it's supposed to be knit on 3.5mm needles or a US,
not all, I think, but that is a US 4.
Then on to the next one,
which sort of is not officially the same pattern, but it looks very,
very similar. And it's
also a design by Olga Paterno that I know is a stone cast
scarf. And it's basically the smaller version of the previous one,
the boon cap or what they call
this scarf. Um, so yeah, that's the
Sort of one difference. This one comes in two sizes as well.
Longer and narrower and
And nope.
less long, less wide and the wider longer version.
It is at a different gauge so it's not the same
yarn as the other other pattern.
This is a lace weight yarn so this is going to be much much
tighter so if you have a very thin yarn in dashed yarn
this might be great. I have in fact one
Wonderful.
of the knitting for a little cashmere that I don't,
I bought it in order to repair a sweater but it's not
the right yarn for it turned out when it was delivered.
I could have sent it back but I'll just
keep it and I think that would work really well for this.
It would end up with a really nice,
very small little cute scarf.
This is quite a new release, this was released in October 2025,
price-wise this one is a little bit cheaper than the previous one,
€7.74, still not very cheap for a scarf pattern,
and so it uses a lace weight yarn on 3.25mm, so that is the US 3.
And then on to the next one, which is, I mean,
I've picked this pattern, but there's quite,
I've seen a few other patterns that use this idea as well.
So this is not the only one, but.
It's about the idea basically.
This is The Cable Scarf by Mimi Englund and it's basically
you take any Silky Scarfish scarf
and you add eye cords to the ends to use that to tie
your scarf up instead of tying up your scarf
and I think this is especially smart if you
have a scarf that is not very reversible
because by putting a knot in it you're going to see
one side that is not reversible and this way
You just tie them neatly together with your little i-cord
and you don't have to see the wrong side of it.
So I thought it was quite smart and it gives this really nice little
i-cord bow in the front as well which is very cute so
this is your thing then which might be really nice.
This is quite a new release so it was released in December 2025
and it has 11 projects on Ravelry.
It would cost you 4 euros and 91 cents.
And it is knitted up by pairing a light fingering yarn
with a lace weight yarn to obtain a dk
and a needle to use of 3.5 millimeters aka us4.
Then the next one is the last one that I have
talked about in a pattern roundup or in my winter plans,
I can't remember because this is something
I want to knit and that has been released very recently.
This is the own shawl by Emma Suominen
So Noelita on Instagram.
Cables and lace. All right, did you want my attention?
I want to knit a smaller version
of this one, basically like a less long and wide one,
so it's like a little one, and I want to knit
too many of these patterns to be clear,
so I'm going to have to make a choice, but I saw this
one, it was teased on Instagram quite a lot,
and I just absolutely, absolutely loved it. So it was
released in December 2025, it has four projects on that already,
as of today, the camera froze again.
It would cost you €4.90 and it's suggesting to use
a fingering plus a lace weight yarn to create a DK to knit.
And then the suggested needles are 4mm or US 10.
The next one which is once again lace and cables
and this is the Low Tide Shawl by Rachel Ilseley.
So this is going to be interesting.
I don't know if you can hear my husband saying something behind you
I discovered this pattern
because I want to knit the Low Tide Pullover by Rachel Ilseley.
Because I love it because it has these exact same lace
and cable patterns like in the front
and on the sleeves which have saddle shoulders
so they run all the way from the neckline all
the way down so I mean it's gorgeous.
Also in the back by the way so you don't have that boring
stuff. So of course I discovered the scarf that went with it as well
and it went into my favorites
straight away.
Not sure I want to knit this one just yet because I want to
Start knitting on the jumper.
It's beautiful and I mean the reference to like
the little waves on the shore when it's low tide
so little waves and so you have little pebbles running through
the waves on the on the shore
I mean am I the only one
who is seeing that in the motif in the pattern?
I'm a big fan I just look arch careful
This is not exactly a new pattern,
it was released in October 2024. It has 80 projects
on Ravelry and it would cost you seven euros
and 15 cents which okay is not the cheapest
but you get three different sizes
which are each of them are quite different. So you get
the proper shawl, you get a bit more of a scarf
and then you get sort of a neckerchief
kind of thing.
So I think there's enough difference in there to make the price okay.
And then this pattern is supposed to be knitted
with a fingering yarn for the jumper.
I think I swatched and I used the light fingering with the mohair.
You lose a bit of the texture, but it works.
And it is knitted up on 3.5mm needles or US I think,
if I remember correctly.
But don't pin me down on this.
When doing a fingering plus a mohair,
I went down to a 3mm needle and I pinned that one.
And then not quite the last one, we're getting close now.
This is the Annabelle's scarf.
by, I don't know what her last name is, Catherine,
but to the world known as Captain Stitches,
also has a knitting podcast on YouTube,
and she does really lovely vlogs about what is
happening during her week,
so she designs her own knitting patterns, but she also knits
a lot of patterns from other designers,
and just the general vibe of her podcast are really nice.
And what I really love about this one, it has lace,
it has these little cables running along the edges,
but it also has the garter stitch on one side,
I'm saying one side, but it's like
underneath or above the scarf,
and that will create a bit more warmth so that if it is cold
you can fold it double
and then you'll have the garter stitch to keep your neck warm,
and then you can have the beautiful beautiful lace facing outwards.
It's also the ends are all in the lace pattern,
so I think this is not just a beautiful pattern,
I think it's a smart pattern as well.
This one was released this year, September twenty-fifth.
It has 27 projects on Ravelry and it would cost six euros and fifty-four cents.
The suggested yarn is fingering weight yarn
and it would be knitted on 3.5mm needles or
a US 4. It does say this is one size
but of course you can make it longer or shorter.
You just repeat the lace pattern and then extend
the garter stitch panel to work for the length that you want.
And I think there's also some people have knitted like
a much smaller version of this
to be used like as a bandana for example, so with just the lace.
So if you want something
to be a much more like nice weather scarf, this would work as well.
And then we're almost there.
Second to last pattern and this is not an English pattern
or not a pattern that has been translated.
However, it's a scarf pattern.
If you're not a beginner, I think you will get away with it.
I'm sorry, my husband is talking.
The dog is snoring and I hope my mic is doing a good job.
This is the Kitas Kir, or I guess the Kitascarf,
by Guðný Gísladóttir Simonsen.
Um, this one is quite new. It was released in October 2025.
It has 38 projects on Ravelry,
and it would cost you four euros and fifty cents.
I mean, I've just taken the Ravelry page and put that into Google
Translate, and it was quite okay.
So I think you could do the same
with the pattern. I mean,
the basic is a Sophie scarf.
It just has this beautiful sort of lace pattern that
it looks like it's weaved, and so I think it's gorgeous.
It's really loud, isn't it?
This pattern calls for fingering weight yarn and 4mm needles
See you later.
Also, I like the little tassels.
I would maybe make them a little bit more full,
as in that there would be more strands of yarn in the tassel.
But I don't know, this also looks really nice, as it is.
And then on to the very last pattern.
I think last week I said that I was tending towards
the Poet's Scarf by Sari Nordlund.
Which is still, I think, the lace pattern looks really nice on there.
However, it is a very triangular shape,
in the fact that it's not very long,
it's quite a short triangle, and so it's like a neckerchief.
But I kind of want a scarf,
like something that I can wrap twice around my neck.
It doesn't need to be this enormous thing,
I have knitted those things in the past.
I want it to be relatively small,
I wanted to have lace.
But I think the poet's scarf is
just not long enough for what I want.
So I found one that I think I would prefer,
that is a bit more the shape I want,
and this is the Good Winds Scarf by Carolina Weseloh.
By the way, it has lots of scarf patterns,
so check her out on Ravelry if you want
more little lace scarves and not just this one.
This one was released in September 2024,
it has 41 projects on Ravelry
and it would cost you 4 euros and 36 cents.
So the original pattern was just for one size,
however she's added a new file last month
with instructions on how to make it longer
so that you know what to do and there's a
bit more handholding on how to do that.
One more thing about this pattern
is that it has two options for the side of it, you
can do it with a little i-cord or for a version without the i-cord.
I'm not sure we need an introduction for that, but I mean, duh.
In the pictures the one without the I-cord looks very flat
so either there's some really good
blocking going on there or she's doing something else.
I'm not sure. And then for the yarn she
she uses a fingering weight yarn and 3.5 mm or US4.
So there we go. That was it for the patterns
for today. I hope you enjoyed all these patterns.
Thank you so much for spending time with me
for today and so don't forget next week we're going
to do the big roundup of
Basically, how much money have I spent this year on knitting,
and how much have I knitted?
For the review of all the individual garments in the new year,
Thank you.
yeah, I'll have a few more things finished.
One can have delusional dreams.
So yeah, that is for next week, so if you don't want to miss that,
then you might want to hit the subscribe button
if you are already subscribed then
thank you so much that is really really lovely
and i appreciate that um and in fact to say thank
you to all the people that subscribed
and got me to 1k last week I did a giveaway and I'm going to
do the little random choose thing I found a tool
on the internet that you input the link to your
to your video and it picks randomly,
it picks a comment randomly and I said I was not going to
Check whose comment I preferred and then pick that one.
We're going to pick one randomly.
Hello, it is Friday morning.
I am editing this week's episode.
And I just realised that when I wanted to start the video,
like doing the random selection of the comment,
I pressed start record twice, which of course stopped the recording.
So that was a really lovely little bit that just didn't get recorded.
Thankfully I took a screenshot of who the winner
is but I debated just redoing it because it would
look nice in a video but that didn't feel right
for the person that got selected first. So let
me get the picture.
The winner of the giveaway for the two
bowls of La Nagato VIP is... where
does the name... there we go.
The one person that has a name written in a Cyrillic alphabet. However
I have a weird little flex is that I did six months
of Russian in school 20 years ago and so
I can actually read this or I think I remember how
to read this and so I think this person is
called Daria. So Daria, I hope I can read your name correctly.
If this is not you but you
recognize your name then this is still for you
but congratulations and please get in touch.
Uh, with me via Instagram,
so that is Yana Tobanov dots in between, I'll put
the name on the screen, um, and then we can talk about,
uh, what your address is, so I
can send the two balls to you.
Uh, so congratulations,
and thanks to everyone who commented on last week's video to enter
this giveaway, it was really lovely to read.
What you would do with the plans,
there were some really, really fun ones, some really
beautiful ones, and some really kind ones as well.
Lots of you want to also knit for other people,
and so I would have loved to give this to
every one of you, but that would have been a bit too expensive,
so sorry, not doing that.
But yeah, thank you so much.
It was really, well, first of all,
it was lovely to reach the 1k subscribers, but then
the response from last week made it.
Mmm, so much better. So, thanks so much
and sorry for this little interruption, we go back to past me.
If you've enjoyed this video,
don't forget to give it a thumbs up, that would be really lovely,
and then I will see you next week, 5pm, on the Friday. In the meantime,
Have a lovely weekend or week, you can see this later.
Happy knitting and be sweet.
