James Kaufman, World News Report Today.
Whoa, ladies and gentlemen, what we're doing here
is we're picking up a naval training exercise that went wrong.
We're seeing an inflatable, and it's supposed
to be boarding this other Navy ship as an exercise,
but I guess the seas were much rougher than anyone anticipated.
Now, luckily...
the seas ended up being so dangerous they decided
to actually not board the ship and the entire crew
on I call it a dinghy I'm sure you'll have
a better name for it look at that turned around
and made it back to shore safely their mission here
was to board the navy ship in heavy seas
and i don't know if that would be possible
According to the cameraman on the naval vessel,
he doesn't know that they could have even rescued them if,
in fact, something would have gone wrong.
You've got to keep that boat pointed at the seas,
exactly at the seas coming at you.
You're going to have big problems.
You can see him attempting a board there, and luckily,
they've got a really good person at the wheel here.
After a few attempts,
they do turn around and head them back to shore, but this could
have went seriously wrong, as you guys can see.
It'd be nice to be able to board a ship in heavy seas like that,
but in this case, it
just wasn't possible.
Watch it one more time through.
They did attempt it two or three times, and luckily...
Someone higher up the ranks
called this little mess off.
According to Corporal Cameron,
entering such dangerous seas
ultimately the wrong decision.
I think it's extremely difficult
to get them out in the water to help.
Luckily, the crew held on.
Whoa, there are bars to hold on to that dinghy,
and I know I'm using the wrong word.
Someone can help me.
Naval patrol boat might be.
Might be a better name for that, but anyway,
everyone ended up safe, not sorry.
Probably a bad call as far as this naval
training exercise, which is put like this.
I'm glad I was not in the dinghy.
They don't know why they cut it.
So when they tried to board once,
they actually tried to board again, but luckily the...
The folks on the patrol boat were smart enough
to realize that it just wasn't happening.
God bless, folks.
Could have turned deadly, as the cameraman said.
Please share, subscribe, and always remember, anything's possible.
Bizarro world.
