Assalamu`alaikum
Today we`ll be riding the bus from Marble Arch/Edward Road to Willesden Green
Edgware Road tended to be the area that Arab immigrants veered towards before eventually migrating out to more outer areas of London like Ealing, Acton and others.
The Edgware Road, which neatly divides Marylebone and Bayswater, is perhaps best known for being the Arabic capital of London. However, this is only the latest chapter in the area's history. For example, it is also home to one of the first synagogues to be built in London.
The whole of Edgware Road, top to bottom, will be safe walking in the evenings with kids, but keep them well away from the road if they are small, as the traffic is always heavy and fast.
Edgware is located in north London less than 10 miles from Charing Cross and spans two London boroughs. The majority of Edgware falls under the London Borough of Barnet although a small area of south east Edgware is located in the London Borough of Harrow.
Residents describe the area as a safe and friendly place to live with a community feel. It's important to be vigilant at all times anywhere in London, but Willesden Green is one of the safest neighbourhoods. The crime rent in the borough of Brent is lower than average for the city as a whole.
This station was first opened as Willesden Green in 1879 as the temporary terminus of the Metropolitan and St. John's Wood Railway extension from West Hampstead. It was re-named Willesden Green & Cricklewood between 1894 and 1938. The station was reconstructed in 1914 with new platforms to serve fast trains.
Willesden Green is a London Underground station on Walm Lane in Willesden. It is served by the Jubilee line and is between Dollis Hill and Kilburn. Metropolitan line trains also pass through the station, but do not usually stop.
