Game happening tonight at 5 o'clock and even though we
are hours away from tip off, there is so much excitement leading up
to this event that fans are already out there.
That's where we find KTVU's Jesse Gary,
who is also out in front of Chase Center.
Jesse, I saw you were talking to some people out there already.
Yeah, I know. They were waiting for a bit, but they had to get moving.
But yeah, we have got fans starting to show up,
head over to the merchandise store
and stock up on fresh merchandise for this winner-take-all Game 7.
So you can start to feel a little bit of the electricity.
I just want to point out that there's a weekly exercise class
that's happening outside Chase Center.
So that's what the noise is, this weekly exercise class,
but this is honestly the best way to get ready to go out
and cheer is to get a nice stretch and a little, you know,
yoga and stretching and etc., physical activity as you get warmed up.
for game seven.
Inside the arena, you remember we were inside earlier,
we're now outside, but inside the arena,
the halftime performers are rehearsing.
That's why we had to move outside.
So MC Light and company are getting a lay of the land
inside and rehearsing, and so we're outside Thrive City.
Additionally, we talked about how they have
Halloween-themed stations that they're gonna have
outside in Thrive City for tonight's game.
You see a gentleman over here on the ground starting to fill in Buhalla
with different chalks and colors, etc., Halloween themes, and it'll
have different stations that they'll put up a little bit later.
But it's starting to transform for tonight's Game 7,
which will decide who is the WNBA champion this year, the Valkyrie.
Unfortunately, lost game six.
They could have closed it out in game six, but they did not.
And so that's what's forced this game seven.
The fans that you mentioned that I was talking to,
they all seem to feel that the momentum that the Valkyrie had
in the second half of game six will carry over
to this decisive game seven here at Chase Center.
So they're all pretty, pretty positive
and optimistic that they're going to get the W and get the title.
Jesse, I know those fans that you had out there watching during
the break, they were hyped up and ready to go.
Did they talk about what they,
you said that they had to go inside to kind of get their fan gear.
Did they talk about whether they were getting any jerseys
of some of the players, who the players,
their favorite players to watch are going to be tonight?
Dancing out and then coming around.
I didn't ask, I didn't really ask about who their favorite players are.
I mean, they are going into the team store, not inside the arena,
but inside the team store, which is just under the
side of the arena and just doing some
lights shopping I didn't look like they
were buying anything major. The one woman had on the kind of the purple
jacket boa combination
and the other one, another one had on you know stockings
and a short dress and etc
but all you know Valkyrie colored themed attire and
there were some other people I saw who had bags.
Are they coming back this way?
If they come back this way, I will route them.
Come back over!
Okay, we're going to get them back.
We're going to do this again.
No, it's too late.
It's too late.
I'm just impressed that there's 40 new fans out there.
Oh, there it is.
In addition to the votes.
Oh, look at this.
They're running.
Okay.
We can wait for them.
Okay.
So what?
Are you watching the game tonight?
You're doing it!
What?
Am I watching the game tonight?
Yes.
I'm working it beforehand, and now I'm watching it.
First, Allie Rasmus wants to know what's in the bags.
Oh!
Jersey.
Jersey.
Well, who's Jersey?
I got Caitlin Clark.
Caitlin Clark.
Let's see.
Hold it up.
That's, representing the Caitlyn Chen.
Caitlin Clark, okay, what size is that?
The adult medium.
Okay, I can take that, okay, oh, I'm sorry, okay, and what did you get?
The Valkyries flag.
Okay.
And I'm gonna wear that, and then I got a personalized jersey.
Oh, let's see.
Yes, our family last name, Isla.
Isla, on the back, you're, you're, oh my god, you're related to AT&T?
T?
They take all my money, so.
Exactly, we're all related to them.
That's very nice, that's nice, and what did you get?
What did you get?
Warrior stuff for our little boys.
Oh, he's...
Okay, well, let's see.
Look, you know, one family, one love.
Yeah, that's right.
I got them that new Lindenburg jersey.
Nice.
Okay, cool.
Perfect.
Yeah.
All right, so that answers that question.
Now Allie is asking the vibe going into this.
Obviously, you're excited about this, and I know I just talked to you,
but one more time, this time with gusto.
How are you feeling going into Game 7?
So stoked, so excited, ready to go.
Very, very excited.
A little nervous, but excited.
I asked you earlier, you said excited,
but why a little nervous, excited?
Tell me what's going on.
Just because it's the finals.
I'm always nervous.
It's a little stressful.
It's a little stressful.
I'm nervous.
I always get a little nervous.
But it's like, yeah, good nervous, though.
It's good nervous.
Like, I need to be on the court.
I'm not, I mean, I should be.
You're a little short, but you're a little short.
I don't know if that's a good idea.
Are you concerned about the way Game 6 went
and there might be a negative hangover?
Do you think the second half really kind of...
No, the second half...
It's definitely going to come in the same way
that they ended, so I feel like it's
going to be good.
They ended really well.
And they're at home.
They're here.
And we're going to be loud.
We're going to cheer for them.
So loud.
Should we do the cheer?
No, let's not.
No, no, no.
There's only one that clapped.
Well, we were...
There's a few that clapped, but I'll hold you.
Yes, only one of you clapped, because we were a little off sync.
We'll just say go back.
Oh, well, look, you have a pom-pom.
You clap, and I'll...
You clap, you shake the pom-pom, and you...
I'll just stand here.
You're going to stand there?
You're going to stand there?
Okay, you're going to stand there.
All right, ready?
One, two, three.
Much better, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Okay, we'll delete the other one.
That's a good one.
Well, we worked on it a little bit, but now they have it down now.
And this is your nephew.
Yes, my nephew.
My nephew, Brendan.
Brendan.
It's their son.
Yes, and so he's part of the spirit squad, right?
Yes.
The Violet Vibe.
The Violet Vibe.
Nice.
They bring the vibe.
You're proud of your son?
Of course.
Yes, he loves vibing with the Violet Vibe.
Nice.
Okay.
Tell me what it means to have your son performing tonight.
Oh, ecstatic.
I just love seeing him on stage, watching him perform.
It just looks like me out there.
Ha ha ha ha!
You wouldn't even clap.
I can't see very well.
It looks like you, you wouldn't even clap.
You said it.
No, he's one of the spirit dancers for the Valkyrie.
So he's gonna be like, you know, during the game.
Oh, amazing.
What's his background? Has he been a dancer his whole life?
And this is Brendan.
What's it?
He wants to know, give me the story again about how he got into this.
Well, first he started off with a junior jam squad for the Warriors.
And then he saw the opportunity to dance for the Violet Vibes.
And he went for it and he made it.
So, super proud of him.
And you've seen him perform before?
Oh yes, many times. Love watching him.
Are you more nervous tonight because it's Game 7?
I think we got it.
I think we got it.
They're all going to crush it.
The vibes, Valkyries, us clapping.
Well, yeah, you know, she claps, you...
You can't.
Okay, yeah.
Okay.
All right.
All right.
Another one, or are you good?
Can you ask them how long they've been Valkyries fans?
Because I know a lot of folks who...
How long have you been Valkyrie fans?
Two years.
I'm sorry.
For as long as they've been around.
So two years.
So as soon as the team came into existence, you said, that's my ticket.
Oh, yeah.
Did you like basketball before the Valkyries came into existence?
Yes, my kids play basketball.
Not your kids, but I'm saying did you personally like basketball?
Are you kind of on the fence?
I love all sports.
I love football and basketball.
Those are like my main sports.
No baseball, no hockey?
Baseball is kind of boring, and I've
actually never been to a hockey game.
You love hockey.
That's what I'm saying.
Okay.
All right, and you do like basketball?
I like basketball.
Always, or just because of the Valkyries?
I like it.
I like it more whenever, like, my cousin might come.
cousins or my nephews and nieces
are playing because then I have like you
know I get really excited I get really
competitive and I don't like that piece
about it so whenever I go with people it's
a lot of fun and my husband and I
have always been on opposing teams
so it's hard at home like he's who's he
rooting for well right now he's rooting
for the vibes or else he doesn't have a
place to stay but
The Valkyries and the Vibes.
So, yes, he's them.
No, he likes the Warriors too, though.
But football teams, we don't talk about it.
All right.
And you've always been, you've always liked basketball or no?
Oh, yes, yes.
Yeah, always been a Warriors fan.
And now, since now we have the Vibes, so now we're Vibes fans.
Now let me ask you, you said you were Warriors fans.
Was it a natural transition to root for the Valkyrie
or did you decide I'll root for them because they're winning?
Natural.
Natural.
He's from Golden State.
Yeah.
Got to go with the home team.
Family.
Family, yep.
Okay.
What's for dinner tonight?
Good night.
Candy.
Candy.
Very good.
I like you.
Very good.
All right.
Well.
Uh-oh, did we lose IFB?
I don't hear anyone.
I'm here, Jesse.
I'm just looking ahead to what we're going to be covering next.
Oh, okay.
Okay.
I wish your nephew the best of luck.
That's amazing that he's a performer.
Allie says she wishes your nephew the best of luck.
Oh, thank you.
Thank you.
And she's glad he can do something he loves professionally.
Thank you very much, Mike.
Break a leg, which means good luck.
Yeah.
Break a leg as in you wind up in a cast or you get the role.
You get the part, so.
Yeah, well, you guys have a great time.
You guys have a great time tonight.
If you have an extra ticket, Allie would like to go.
So you can just coordinate.
All right.
See, Allie, thank you very much, guys.
See, Allie, I'm always thinking of you,
trying to work out how we can get you into the arena.
I appreciate that so much, Jesse.
Although tonight is a really tough one
because I have a girl who's also about to be a fan.
She really wants to go to the arena.
I think I'm going to be following a distance behind her.
That might be a good thing
considering tickets are ranging from
$400 for the nosebleeds
up to $5,600 for floor seats.
So maybe this is a good one
to watch on your phone
or on your TV.
And I think a lot of people will be watching it
as they're trick-or-treating.
I'll be in good company there.
Justin, thanks so much for your report and your updates.
You've shown us the vibe of the energy.
It's very exciting.
Game 7, December.
You're welcome.
Go Valkyries.
All right.
