Navy takes out Venezuelan boat moving drugs to the U.S. On September 2, 2025, President Donald Trump announced that U.S. forces had intercepted and destroyed a Venezuelan boat carrying drugs in the Caribbean Sea. Maduro responded by placing Venezuela on high alert, accusing the U.S. of escalating towards regime change, potentially heightening international tensions, and redefining U.S. foreign policy.
