In Chester County, four people,
including a man dressed in a police officer costume,
accused of assault on Halloween night
right near Westchester University.
Police say they are now asking for help in finding those people.
Our Jennifer Joyce has the latest
on the investigation from Westchester.
Westchester police are asking
for the public's help identifying four suspects accused
of assaulting multiple people in Westchester early Sunday morning.
According to police, these suspects are believed
to be in their late teens or early twenties.
Westchester police are working to identify these four males
who they say assaulted at least two victims early Sunday morning.
In one surveillance image, you can see a person on the ground.
The attack happened on the 600 block of South Walnut Street.
We talked to a Westchester University sophomore who says he walked
by as the assault was happening and stepped in to help the victim.
We are concealing his identity.
I saw a kid on the ground, did not look good, so I was just like...
Ran up on whoever else that was kicking him in the head,
and I just ran up and yelled at him and said, leave him alone.
His face was bleeding a little bit.
Students who live nearby are upset by what happened.
One young man says he's friends with two of the victims.
He also didn't want to show his face on camera.
It's scary, to say the least.
The kid was just walking down the street and...
They were just chirping them, and then that led to another.
It was very clear that it was out of hand.
Like, it was already out of hand when I got home at 10.30,
and so it wasn't getting better.
Amanda Capoferri also lives on the block.
She says she saw police officers drive by throughout the night.
But in her mind, their presence wasn't strong enough
to manage the crowds of people celebrating Halloween.
They were on my lawn. They were on every lawn.
They were outside of all the houses,
all of the sidewalks full of people.
I didn't see them, like, stop anyone.
One or I didn't see them get out of their cars at all.
It's unclear if the suspects are Westchester University students
or if they were visiting for the night.
We also don't know what prompted the assaults.
Police say the victims are okay. They suffered minor injuries.
The Westchester police chief also
confirmed that there was another
unrelated assault that happened a
block away on the 500 block of
South Walnut Street. Police say they
are not releasing any additional
information about that incident.
