Tonight, from this complete costume chaos
on a quiet North Bethesda cul-de-sac,
hundreds showed up for a massive Halloween party.
Yeah, and tonight, that cleanup, it's just getting underway.
Fox 5's Bob Barnard with the story behind this wild video.
These kinds of house parties have
been outlawed here in Montgomery County,
but that didn't stop one from happening
at that house here Halloween night.
A neighbor shared with us videos she recorded Saturday night
from her home looking out on the
cul-de-sac where the party was held.
This is Carnegie Terrace in North Bethesda. Look at how
many people had flooded her neighborhood, clearly hundreds.
She says it took police almost two hours
after the first calls to 911 for officers to arrive.
Montgomery County Police later telling us
Nobody was arrested.
The homeowner today showed us videos
and photos he took of the damage left behind.
He says his house was trashed, furniture broken,
the TV in the living room stolen, the floor damaged.
In one photo, you can see the floor joist splintered
by the weight of all the people inside his house.
The neighbor who recorded
the nighttime video says this was beyond awful.
She asked us not to show her face on TV.
Complete chaos. There was kids on top of cars,
on top of the roof of the house, going in and out.
When I noticed in my front window what was going on,
I called 911. It was probably 9:30.
Called multiple times. They told me they were too busy.
They didn't show up here till 11.
As far as I know, there was over 30 people who called them.
The homeowner, who didn't want to be interviewed on camera,
says he maintains the house as an Airbnb,
rented the place Halloween night through Booking.com,
says the contract does not allow for parties
and no more than 12 people in the home at any one time.
He says the renter's name on the contract, Cole Brent.
The associated phone number was bad.
Montgomery County police say they
are reviewing the circumstances of the party.
Who rented the house? Who hosted the party?
Whether there were any violations?
I would say between 700 and 1,000 teenagers here.
And after the police dispersed them,
they were still wandering around the neighborhood.
I don't know if they had no way to get home, but they were everywhere.
We had kids drunk on drugs all over our yards and our driveways.
I was terrified, to be honest.
Montgomery County passed legislation last
year outlawing unlicensed house parties in
residential neighborhoods like this one.
The fines can be up to $5,000. Montgomery County
police tell us that on Halloween night,
they answered so many calls for service,
and that's why it took them a while to get here.
