Hey everyone, it's Deja from CrochetWrapper.com.
Today I'm going to show you how to kind of get back on track
if you make a mistake while doing a foundation single crochet.
And the reason I'm doing this is because it was a viewer request.
She said, you know,
how do I figure out how to fix my mistake and keep going.
So, if you have any viewer requests,
make sure you leave me some comments or questions.
Questions and I will add you to my viewer queue on my blog,
but we'll get started on this.
So as we know with a foundation single crochet, we're combining
our foundation chain and our first row of single crochet together.
So when we make it, we always put our hook under
the bottom two loops of the stitch before the
foundation chain of the stitch previous, and then we pull up a loop.
And then we make a chain, so we pull through just one loop,
and that makes a foundation chain,
and then we yarn over and pull through both to make the single crochet.
So every time we do this, we're creating a foundation chain,
so we create a foundation chain with one loop,
and then a single crochet with two loops.
To see a lengthier tutorial about that,
go check out my foundation single crochet tutorial.
But say, you know, you accidentally only grabbed one loop,
Or you pulled through both loops
and now you are kind of confused on what you have.
Remember that you can always count your stitches.
So if you think you made a mistake, just pull them out.
You know, pull out your stitches.
Get to one where you're at the beginning.
To tell what loop you should start at,
think of this as your foundation chain.
You have your tail coming out of your foundation chain.
The foundation chain is on the bottom and the tail is on the bottom.
Just as if you made a regular foundation chain and you're working
your single crochet now.
You should only have one loop and it's going to be on the top
opposite your foundation chain.
So if you're pulling out and you have, you know, bunny ears
or more bunny ears, keep pulling until you get to just one loop.
Now if you're lost,
how many stitches have I made so far?
And it's difficult to count the fronts.
Turn your work sideways and count your V-stitches.
Those are easy to see.
You can see I have 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 stitches so far.
So if I needed 10,
I would just put my hook in and pick up where I left off.
Left off. Left off.
And make another 4.
Okay, so remember, if you make a mistake, just pull out.
Now get rid of your bunny ears until you just have
that one loop at the top.
It's opposite your...
Foundation chain, use your stitches to count which one you're on,
and just start right back in again.
Go underneath your foundation chain,
pull up your loop, pull through one, so.
If you have any specific problems, if you find yourself doing something
with the foundation single crochet that is baffling you,
try to explain it to me in the comments
and I'll try to help you out with that, even make another video.
But thank you for watching!
