Well, the impact of today's election will
be felt far beyond our state of Arizona.
Voters across the country really are heading
to the polls with control of Congress
hanging in the balance.
Fox News' correspondent Rebecca Castor has more
on what's at stake in this year's midterm elections.
After months of campaigning, it's now up to voters to decide
the balance of power here on Capitol Hill.
Election day is here,
and voting is now underway across the country, including Michigan,
one of several states that could determine
which party controls the Senate.
Republicans are hoping for a momentum shift there after
Democratic Congresswoman Haley Stevens endorsed Mike Rogers
instead of her own party's nominee, Abdul Latif Sayed.
It took a lot of courage for her to do that,
to stand up for America, and listen, I'm proud of her.
Earlier this week, Senate Minority Leader
Chuck Schumer called it a despicable betrayal.
But now he's downplaying the endorsement.
She's one vote.
There are millions of Michiganders whose number one issue
is getting their costs down.
Democrats are expected to win control of the House,
but the Senate is up for grabs, likely coming down to seven states.
President Trump will watch results come in tonight at the White House,
but the rest of his presidency at stake.
We have to keep America great. We're great now. We were terrible.
Two years ago, we were laughing stock all over the world.
To hold on to both chambers,
Republicans will need to overcome voter frustrations,
mostly related to the war in Iran.
This morning, the president announced he would stop all
U.S. aid payments to Israel next year,
perhaps an olive branch to some disenchanted voters.
It's a bad talking point.
We give them more than anybody else, and they no longer need it.
The U.S. has given Israel nearly $4 billion a year since 2019.
Most of that aid is used to buy American weapons,
so this could have an unintended
negative impact on the U.S. defense industry.
