It has been a busy day at voting locations across our state.
Yeah, let's check back in with Fox 10's Andrew Christensen over at ASU.
Andrew, those lines have been pretty long all day.
Oh my gosh, really long.
And in the past few hours, they have doubled in size.
A few hours ago when we got here around 3 o'clock,
it was only wrapped around halfway.
through the front part of the gym.
Now it is wrapped around the entire front part of the gym.
There are Republican groups here, Democrat groups here,
even groups that are just motivating voters
to vote just by getting some pizza, getting some snacks, some water.
Well, the Maricopa County
Elections Department website says the wait here is 53 minutes
and 223 people are in line. But people
I talked to recently say they were waiting about an hour.
So the wait times are pretty accurate
within a few minutes. Well,
students tell me voting here instead of other places just
It comes down to convenience, even if they have to wait.
And when I ask them what is really motivating them to vote,
some students tell me it's things like affordability,
education, and the Iran War.
Well, some voters tell me they voted for the entire ballot,
even down to all of the judges.
I actually sat down with my roommate and we went through everything
and I wrote down yes and no for all the propositions
and I understood them so I knew what I was actually voting for.
I just wanted like I feel like my vote matters in every election
whether it's local or it's bigger so I thought it would just
be important to go over everything that is being offered to me
and then use my resources that I have available.
I too feel disillusioned a lot of the time
and I don't know if voting is like the best way to.
Remedy those feelings, but it's at least a way to do something.
At polling places throughout Maricopa County,
we have seen polling wait times up to an hour.
For more on those wait times,
you can go to our website, fox10phoenix.com.
And the Maricopa County Elections Department says
that about 211,000 people have been serviced
at voting centers just like this one across the county.
And across the county, there are more than 250 voting sites.
You can vote until 7 o'clock.
If you are in line before 7, you can still vote.
Reporting live at Arizona State University,
Andrew Christensen, Fox 10 News.
Thank you so much.
