Jedd Fisch on Chris Lawson as DB

Did you mention that Chris even did some DB stuff with you guys last year? Yeah. Was that on the scout team during the season? It was. No, during the season, we got him some reps post-practice in our basics periods to see, you know, where he's such a good athlete, and he was recruited as a Dual athlete, both defense and offense coming out. I think some programs had him as a DB. We had him as a wide receiver, but we told him when we were recruiting him, hey, we're going to give you an opportunity, you know, depending on what position or what side of the ball is best for you. And based on where we were numbers-wise, both, I think at that time, Bobo was down. And I think we had someone else down that we were a little short at DB. And at that time, we felt like we had Denzel was healthy, Amari was healthy at that time, that we had a little bit extra on offense. So we started working Chris a little bit on defense. And then after a couple weeks, I used my 51% privilege. In our staff meetings, and I took him back to offense because I said he's going to help us more there. Thank And he certainly has. You got it. Good. Good. You know, not good enough to get paid more as a DB, though, if that's what you're getting at. No, we're going to keep him at wide receiver, and we're going to let him be an elite wide receiver for us. I think that's where he fits best. you.
