Ladies and gentlemen,
this is one of our very newest instruments on board our new GOES-19.
It's GOES-19 Core One.
They replaced our other Core One.
And it's supposed to be one
of the most sensitive instruments that we have in space.
Now, there's an incident, as you all can see,
that's pretty much unexplainable.
Regularly, if you have a CME, you'll see plasma leaving the sun.
The sun is behind the lens cover here.
And we can see plasma constantly leaving the sun.
So there are ongoing explosions, but nothing.
Like whatever lights up the entire screen.
I'm going to stop it there, but there's nothing I can think
of that would explain an explosion like this.
This does not show up on LASCO C2, LASCO C3,
and I tried to confirm it any other way I could,
but I can't.
If anyone has any idea of what occurred, well...
It's the only instrument that caught it,
and we caught this last night, and I just
had to show everyone and get everyone's opinion
on this. All right, this is the actual event here.
You can see, let's see if there's any missing time.
There's really not any missing time whatsoever
through that time period. This is today, 4.45 UTC time.
It really started between 4.30 and 4.45.
And it lit up the whole sky.
It looks like it came from the right-facing side, right-facing side,
then moved its way to center disk,
and then maybe moved its way to the left.
Let's watch that one more time.
See it over on the right, whatever it might be.
Or it could be some sort of huge backside CME.
I didn't see very impressive backside sunspots,
and we haven't heard about any large explosions.
You can see it move.
Catch that a little bit better.
One, two, three,
four, five.
So I will do that over one more time.
We first see an explosion out of the 5 o'clock position.
It's going to be the first.
It's going to be the second frame, it's going
to be the third frame there, it's going to
be the fourth frame there, obviously diminishing,
and the fifth frame is actually right here.
Now, this is unexplainable to me,
but if y'all think this was a coronal mass ejection, or really
all I could say was micronova,
but we saw nothing on our GOES X-ray flux, we saw nothing
on LASCO.
C2 or C3, and our D-region absorption prediction
center showed nothing, but Corone is our most
sensitive instrument, supposedly,
per NOAA, that we have in space currently.
Let me know what you think about that,
and what you think might have occurred.
God bless.
