Egyptian president calls Iran, US to resolve conflict

Egypt's President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi called on Iran and the U.S. to engage in dialogue to end the conflict on Tuesday. Thank you. While U.S. President Donald Trump has floated the possibility of renewed attacks on Iran following the midterm elections on the same day, Egypt's president urged the two countries to refrain from further escalating. I am very stressed today. I stress this approach today and before it is too late, because the alternative will have catastrophic effects and consequences for the region and for the world, which has been suffering from successive crises, one after another, over the course of six years. From this standpoint, Egypt appeals to both the United States and Iran to show the greatest possible degree of flexibility at this stage, with the aim of finding areas of common understanding that would allow for resolving the ongoing conflict. Thank you very much. So far, no peace deal has been reached between Washington and Tehran.
